Others had pineapple fried rice, they said it was ok but dry, it looked dry & very little pineapple. Looked liked they threw some crushed pineapple in there. Thai it is then. It's a small spot by Bonefish and Sally Beauty. 5 4-person booths and a small 2 top oddly close to the front cashier. They charge 18% on all dine-in orders, but they post it by the booth divider when you first walk into the place. It's good though, as the waitress informed you upon getting the bill that the 18% gratuity is included, making it sound like she's doing you a favor or something. The garlic chicken, Thai basil noodles and tofu fresh roll looks good as well. We ordered crispy chicken with side of steamed veggies instead of rice, medium spicy and a pad Thai with tofu, Thai hot. $34.87 with the tip. The condiments: Prik Nam Pla, dried red pepper and peanuts. The pad Thai is good, flavorful and nicely pan fried. The crispy chicken looks better than it tasted, it was definitely crispy, the breading was super light. However, the chicken was way overcooked for sure, reminiscent of jerky, but the sauce has good flavor to it at least. Stick with the Pad Thai unless you don't mind a bit of overcooked, but flavorful chicken with the crispy garlic chicken. Service was good. read more

We wanted to go to real Thai but they were closed so we decided to give Thai basil a try. It wasn't bad. I prefer my green curry to be made with Thai eggplant but that's not possible here. I asked for Thai spicy but was not hot enough. I also got chicken drunken noodles. That was actually better but I also prefer that to be made with flat square noodles. All in all not too bad. We really enjoyed our food here. The food and service here was really good. I got the chicken fried rice, medium spicy, which was the perfect spice level for me. It was delicious! I also got the Tom kha soup which was also really good. One order would definitely be enough to share between 2-4 people (would probably make about 4 small cups). We also ordered the crab rangoons, which were also good. Although it seemed like a lot people were getting takeout (we were there after 7, on a rainy night in December), our server was very friendly and nice. Our food came out quickly too. Thai Basil is your proverbial hole in the wall type restaurant. There are only 6 tables, there is only one waiter, and they have no beer license. However, the food is really tasty. We had the basil fried rice (Thai hot), fresh rolls, and garlic chicken. All were very good, and I especially loved the garlic chicken. It had great flavor, and the hot spice balanced well with the honey and garlic. This was the best Thai place we tried in the Destin area. read more

I lived in Alaska for a few years, and an elderly Thai couple ran a restaurant there who had lived in Thailand most their life. This Thai food is just as good or better! The food was good and the portion size was reasonable. So, why only 3 stars? First, as people have pointed out, they add 18% gratuity to ALL diners, not just larger parties. I've never seen a restaurant do that. Then, she had the gall to justify it by saying Destin is a tourist spot so restaurants commonly do it. I don't know that tourists notoriously stiff servers, but more to the point, I was eating with someone who has lived in Destin most of her life and said she's never heard of a restaurant doing that for a party of two. But what really actually ruined our dining experience was the way our server literally wrapped up our food and ushered us out at 8:30 (closing time). Normally, if a restaurant's hours say they close at 8:30, that means that they lock the doors at 8:30...or maybe switch to take-out only at 8. But, I've never been to a restaurant where "closing at 8:30" means everyone has to literally leave at 8:30. Those are the things which ruined our desire ever to return. read more

Went there with my family during vacation and I have to say that they have the best thai food I had when we went to destin! The service is very nice! Everyone in there are so welcoming and polite. It's a small restaurant, so there's limited seating but it's a peaceful place to be dining in. If you want to get away from the pad thai ( please do) I recommend you give pineapple fried rice and duck curry a try. I promise it worth your money! After a shopping trip with the wife and daughter Stopped by to get takeout-Ordered 2 mild chicken pad Thai's and a salmon curry. Ordering was easy and the young lady taking our order told us that it would be ready in 15 minutes. Took it back to the hotel to eat. Pad Thai was fresh and hot with good amount of chicken but tasted like they added ketchup to the sauce giving it a slightly reddish color and tomato flavor and taste much different than the traditional pad thai I've eaten previously. Wife liked it daughter didn't The salmon curry was not good it was served in a large deli container with red curry water/sauce,sliced cucumbers?,Tomatoes, green peppers and basil the red curry sauce was like water absolutely no flavor at all. The app says this is a very popular item but they were so dry and hard, like they're way overcooked. We were so hungry but we couldn't even eat them. I would have to agree that the curry is quite watery, it is watered down. But the flavor was still there sort of, it could have been better if it was thicker! The garlic chicken sauce was also good I can see why it's a favorite but the pieces we got were quite dry and wasn't as juicy as expected. So I just return to town and wanted this place again and boy, was it a huge disappointment. Got spring roll and 2 noodle dishes and all were greasy. The bottom of the noodle container had oil there were like a teenager drinking party, just chilling but no actions. I felt really gross after eating it and shouldn't have eaten it in the first place. They charged extra for extra topping that did not reflect the amount you'd get. Charged $1.00 extra but got $0.05 cents worth of extras(only found a few chopped pieces of vegetables). Totally not worth it and don't recommend and probably won't return either. It wasn't a long wait the shrimp were tender which I liked but I had to do the gerbil treadmill run for 24hrs to get rid of the disgusting oil taste in my body. read more

Very disappointed. We didn't even eat there, but was very put off by the sign at the front of the door. They automatically charge you 18% of your bill towards a tip. The lady greeting us came off as entitled but overall to be charge automatically 18% for a tip without even being serviced is crazy to me. Had the red curry with chicken lunch special (9.99 with small salad). It was outstanding. I ordered it mild thank goodness. It made my mouth tingle and my nose run, but it was not too much. The lunch portion was very generous. The chicken was all white meat which is my preference. I expect we will be stopping here on a regular basis when we are in the area. AMAZING. 4.5 stars! We came in around 7pm. The food came out SO FAST! I am currently on spring break and am visiting from SC. I don't usually write reviews unless I feel like I need to and I do think this place needs more business for its quality and impeccable service. The restaurant is small and beside a Ross. Despite the place not looking to fancy the presentation was so nice! Little carrots cut into flowers or butterflies just made us feel so special. The prices are cheaper than usual too which is always great. The waiter gave us fresh hot wontons on the house after we ordered our appetizers and received our delicious hot pork dumplings. After we shopped all day today on this rainy day, we chose this place for dinner as it was so convenient. We were welcomed with a waiter who also happened to be partners with the owner. I LOVEEE THAI FOOD. We got Thai food to-go last night in Fort Walton but it was too salty for my liking. I was craving pad Thai because I didn't get it last night but the pad Thai was a little too saucy for me but it was good. My mom and sister ordered the meatball beef noodle soup and they really enjoyed it. You HAVE TO GET THE MANGO AND STICKY RICE DESSERT. ITS MY FAVORITEEEE. I also have a very big sweet tooth but this isn't too sweet if you don't have a sweet tooth. Its perfect. It was perfect to finish my meal with. I'm so satisfied with my meal.
