Crying Tiger Surf & Turf

The steak was perfectly cooked, and tender. It's got a slight teriyaki typeglaze on it with the spicy lime dressing on the side. That dressing is amazing and I kind of wish they had brushed that on the steak when grilling it. Maybe I'll ask them to do that next time. The shrimp were perfectly grilled. Very tasty! This definitely worth the price. Probably the most delicious, tender, ribeye you will get in Santee for $23!

One of the best authentic tasting Thai places in the middle of nowhere. We ordered a whole bunch to share. They brought plates without us asking. Beer is cheap! Domestic and even imported. Try the singha, it's their national beer. Highly recommend the Tom yum soup, the papaya salad, the basil eggplant and the fried tilapia with 3 sauces. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Don't judge a book by its cover. Does need a little refresh outside and then however the food and service were fantastic and I only ordered appetizers. Cannot wait to go back for an entrée. This will definitely be one of my go to recently relocating to the area. I had the basil eggrolls, crab ragoons (as always, no matter where you go less Wonton more filling) and the chicken satay. The peanut sauce was the best I ever had. Will be back

Delicious food. The restaurant is not fancy but we were so impressed with the food. We shared the tom yum soup and the vegetable green curry. The Tom Yum soup was so outstanding I would go back just for that. The service was great and friendly. We had come in twenty minutes before they closed for the night but still they were so welcoming and didn't not rush us at all. We stopped in there while driving north and I hope to stop there again when we are driving back home.

These were absolutely delicious!

My personal preference for eating out is coming here. I have tried just about the entire menu and haven't found a dish I didn't like so far. The service folks, Nong and Rachel, are very keen on getting the food out ASAP, and the kitchen cooks up the best food in my opinion. I also like the seating that is available, and I love sitting at the little bar when these seats are available.

Excellent food and very quick service. We really enjoyed our meal and found the entrees, specialties, and appetizers to all be very tasty and well presented. The restaurant is small but well appointed and made for a relaxed dining experience. They are typically closed between 3 and 4 so it took a couple of tries to get the timing right but it was well worth the effort. Shown is the Larb Mu (pork salad). It was fabulous.

Eggplant stir fry with tofu

This was an unexpected find while traveling. I arrived at 4:55pm and there was only one other car in the parking lot so I was apprehensive about dining there but so glad I tried it! By 5:15 the restaurant was packed and the service and food was delicious. I started with jasmine tea and fresh rolls with tofu-yum! Then had the eggplant stir fry that was a good portion and very tasty. The other diners were very friendly and it seemed to have as many travelers as locals. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best Thai food I have had in a long time. Definitely recommend this place!

We were on the interstate looking at Yelp for recommendations. Do not judge a book by its cover!…read moreThe service was five star, Robert was genuine, incredibly helpful, helped us make selections off the menu. Our service was fast as the food came before we even realized we had ordered it. If you are searching for true Thai cuisine, that is authentic and incredibly flavorful, You must try this place. It's true and some of the other reviews have said it, the outside leaves nothing to be desired and the inside could even use a little help. However, do not drive by. We pulled up after reading reviews, and I almost didn't go in just because of the outside and what a mistake that would have been. This is a five star a rating restaurant.

I'll be honest...the exterior looks a bit rundown, and the interior (including the bathrooms) could definitely use some cleaning and updating. But when we go out to eat, it's about the food first, and this place delivers where it matters most. We started with the veggie spring rolls, which I'd rate about a 7.5/10, good, but not the highlight (you can only do so much with veggie spring rolls lol). For our entrees, we ordered the drunken noodles with tofu (partner is vegetarian) and I had the pineapple duck curry (it cane with a small salad). The drunken noodles were excellent--9/10, with great flavor and balance. The pineapple duck curry was a standout 10/10 for me, rich, flavorful, crispy duck skin and absolutely worth coming back for. We arrived just after 5 PM on a Saturday and were the first ones there. We were seated immediately, and the service was very good throughout. The menu is huge, with plenty of options, and prices are reasonable for a specialty Thai/Asian restaurant in Orangeburg. We ordered both dishes at a mild spice level, and they came out perfect, just enough heat without being overpowering. Bottom line: the building could use some love, but don't let that stop you. The real treat here is what comes out of the kitchen. If you're in Orangeburg and craving Thai food, give Thai Orchid a try, you'll likely be pleasantly surprised by the quality.

The flavor was so good we immediately wished we had ordered two. We were headed to go bowling afterward, so we kept it light...but trust me, we could have easily finished another. The place is spotless, modern, and has a really comfortable vibe. It is a bit pricey, and if it were just a little cheaper, I'd probably be in there every other day. Still, the quality made our first pho experience a great one.

Appetizers are good and come out quickly. For two people, I'd opt for more than a single appetizer if you are peckish. I had a tofu eggplant dish they said was spicy and it WAS. So believe them when you see the chili pepper on the menu. Service was fine; not lightning quick nor did I feel ignored. Parking is shared with other stores in a private lot so not a concern at all. The soups were quite tasty and the vegetables were all bright and appetizing. I'd go back again happily, but not as a group. If you have more than 4 people, consider an alternative location.

I didn't dine in this time, I ordered my meal to-go but I still got a good feel for the space. I ordered spring rolls and shrimp and scallop hibachi. The veggies was definitely the highlight of the meal. The seafood was cooked nicely, but it was the fresh, crisp veggies that really stood out and gave the dish its balance. The portions were generous, big enough that you're not leaving hungry, and maybe even with leftovers for later. The spring rolls missed the mark for me. They lacked the veggie crunch I was hoping for and didn't have that crispy, golden snap that makes spring rolls irresistible. Instead, they leaned a bit on the soggy side, which left me wanting more texture and flavor balance. Overall, Hawaii Steak & Seafood House is one of those spots where you'll walk out full and satisfied portion-wise. The hibachi veggies shined, but a few other items could use a little fine-tuning. Clean space, big plates, and a meal that's worth a try if you're in the area.

My wife ordered the Roman and loved every bite. My daughter went with the salmon bento box, which was both beautiful and tasty. And me? The atmosphere was amazing, a cozy quaint spot in a what seemed to be a great part of the city. The bar was nice and overall decor of the restaurant was eclectic without feeling overdone. Our server (I believe her name was Havvy), was pleasant as well. We started with the crab rangoons and spring rolls. The crab rangoons were a 10/10, and the spring rolls were solid as well. I'd definitely order both again. I ordered the pad kapow, which is my go-to dish I like to start with at any new Thai restaurant. The presentation of the rice was really cute and the dish itself was rich and full of flavor. My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice with beef, it was phenomenal, just as flavorful and satisfying. We ordered cocktails as well, which were made perfectly, and since it was our anniversary, we treated ourself to the coconut cake. After the first bite, I wasn't sure about the cake, but by the second bite I was SOLD. If you're looking for a laidback, non-pretentious spot to enjoy a great meal, cocktails or even just a small bite, I definitely recommend.
