    Sauteed Eggplant with pork

I came here for pick up. Ordered. Chicken pad se ew. Beef Pumpkin curry and eggplant with pork. The eggplant dish was bland I felt. It didn't have the flavor like other places. It needed acid and salt. The pumpkin curry was tasteful and spicy and the pad se ew was only meh okay. The cooks are afraid of flavor unless they want us to use condiments which they don't provide. I didn't eat there and it was efficient. Picked up on time. And didn't eat there so can't comment on ambiance.

This spot in Castro is great. It's a nice little restaurant with really nice people. They always greet you when you walk in and ask if it's for here or to go. The food portions are a really great size. The menu is on the pricier side, but the portions are good size.

A nice reliable standard in the Castro. Perfect for a last minute drop in when the other restaurants nearby have a wait. It's not the best Thai or even destination-worthy, but it does the trick. Money Bags: Such a fun appetizers. Looks like those gold bags in 8-bit video games. Tastes great too with crunchy exterior and lots of savory ground meat. Chicken Larb: My kind of salad... since it's mostly meat! Though a nice bit of herbs, onions and spices too. Tom Yum w/ Tofu: Broth was good, but kinda felt like too many veggies. Kinda wish there was more of that slightly sour broth. Pad Thai Shrimp: A classic. Sweet chewy noodles. A decent amount of shrimp. Real comfort food. Red Curry w/ Beef: Really enjoyed how this was such a soupy dish. Like even a higher liquid-to-solids ratio than the tom yum soup. The beef was tender. The curry packed a nice kick, even at mild (ordered by my table mates). Sauteed Eggplant w/ Pork: I'm normally not a big eggplant fan, but these are delish. So tender and soaks up all the nice sauce. The pork was thin sliced and kinda reminded me of the beef. Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Chinese Sausage: Didn't want to order a bunch of white rice sides, so we got this. An interesting mix of flavors. The Chinese sausage rounds really was a dominate flavor. Thai Iced Tea: Creamy with a nice jolt of sugar and caffiene.

Great location to find parking, in my opinion. A few of us found parking just up the same street. We were a group of 20 - 25; they broke us down by table making it easy to order and not overloading kitchen with all those orders same time. They handled us beautifully. The portions are plenty for one person. The servers are very friendly and we waited for nothing. I had the pork panang curry and shared the 4 piece spring roll appetizer. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Our group here's every year for a few years. We'll be back next year!

We ordered last minute delivery from DoorDash and it cost $180 total for 4 entrees (below), two chicken satays, and two servings of rice. Plenty to feed 4 adults and 4 toddlers. * Pad Thai - 4 stars, good, thinner noodles, chicken fairly moist. * Pad See Ew - 4 stars, good. * Pork Belly - 3.5 stars (pork got soggy in the broth). * Green Curry - 4 stars, legit spicy! * Chicken Satay - I didn't have any but the kids were practically fighting over these!

Saw the sign that they have been open for 36 years so I had to give it a try. Boy am I happy I trusted my instinct. This place is so homey, employees so kind, environment is picturesque and overall an amazing place. Spring rolls phenomenal, packed with ingridents, incredibly fresh and generous potion! The peanut sauce was also homemade and amazing. I got their egg noodle with yellow curry, this was the best curry I've ever had in my life. The balance between sweetness and heat was perfect. It was thick and combined amazing with the fried crackly noodles and the soft egg noddles. Highly recommend this place.

I've only been to the restaurant that was my Annie's burgers. There hours were hit & miss. The food is excellent. I have yet to try the one in town.

I ordered the pad thai from Uber Eats and it was good pad thai. When they list "Thai spicy", it actually is Thai spicy and not mild downed. I usually have the issue that it's not spicy enough but this was a little too spicy for me! It was a good portion too.

Finally stopped by this castro staple for lunch and I can't believe it's taken me this long. This cute corner restaurant is absolutely delicious. I asked for medium spicy and it was pretty hot! Loved the eggplant which soaked up the amazing sauce. Pad Thai was fresh with large shrimp and plenty of crunchy peanuts. Will definitely be back to try the weekday lunch specials.

Needed carbs for dinner before a half marathon and glad we went here! The chicken pad see ew was flavorful and not too greasy. The service was really quick - they truly live up to the "Express" in the name! Seems like it is more of a takeout place but there were still quite a number of people sitting in for a casual dinner.

Born and Raised in SF and growing up in the Mission you make friends with every nationality. You will see all kinds of restaurants serving food from all seven continents. There is one restaurants in the back streets of the Mission District which has lots of characters and it's serves delicious Thai cuisine. In this area you only use to see people wearing suits only on a Sunday but now you see people wearing suits on a weekday walking around. It's located on Florida ( not the state) street and it's called Farmhouse Kitchen Thai cuisine. On a Fleet Week and SF Tech week stroll I landed on Florida ( not the state) street. When it comes to Thai food I always like trying dishes with seafood. Most restaurants by the water serve seafood that can be bland and stale in SF. Some try to squeeze the life out of a lemon and lime and it still tastes more sour. One thing you can do to change the taste is to put some different flavor on it. Farmhouse Kitchen Thai cuisine offers a seafood plate called the Run Juan Seafood Sizzling and it's exactly the seafood answer for Don Juan . The Run Juan was a bit spicy with the spicy curry paste and jalapeños with and it came with an assortment of different seafood which included shrimp, scallops, calamari, and Manila clams. It wasn't salty like some in SF. I also had the Tom Kha soup which was not too sour like some in SF. I was looking for the purple rice but they had the blue rice which is good to have for Fleet week in honor of the Blue Angels. I washed all down with a purple colored Anchan Limenade. Some things in the Mission has changed and those days are "gone"but one thing won't change is the love of the Mission and for San Francisco by "Don Juan" because the Mission in the city still has it going "on" so go the Farmhouse and enjoy a Thai seafood dish called "Run Juan" Walking the streets of the Mission at night back in the days you had to be "cautious" because the ones who got targeted were the "softest" the Farmhouse is located on the Florida street where the "loft is"and lots of people demand for Run Juan but I am not currently running for "office"

I came on Sunday around 5:30, and was seated immediately. The steady influx/outflux of customers never made it seem too quiet, even though only half the restaurant was utilized. If you decide to come here, I recommend avoiding the Thai staples like Pad Thai and Tom Yum, and ordering at least 1 dish from the "From the Chef" section. This place feels more authentic with more unique offerings compared to your regular run of the mill Thai place (they are mostly government sponsored anyways). I ordered a Papaya salad (Som Tum Poo Pla), a Shrimp Paste Fried Rice, and Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly. For starters, the Papaya salad with a bigger price tag is not for the faint of heart. There is a load of fish sauce, and combined with anchovies, makes for an...acquired dish. I was told by my server that it's pretty authentic, but it's a little too authentic and reminds me of Natto or Beijing tofu juice. The Shrimp Paste Fried rice is a must order; the spread is very instagram worthy and gives me vague paella vibes in terms that it's shareable and good for parties 2-4. I did not see this dish at other Thai restaurants I've been to, so I'd consider pretty unique. Just be mindful that it's on the sweeter side, and the chilis on the side are very, very spicy, so allocate accordingly. The Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly was by far the star of the show. The skin was super crispy, and the pork itself was super tender, melt in your mouth feeling. The flavors and seasonings were perfect, with just a hint of basil to elevate the entire taste. A true adventure for the taste buds, and a must order as a shareable. Service was super friendly, and my waiter answered all my questions with a smile, and even gave us his recommendations since we wanted to stray away from the basic thai food orders. This place is a must come to if you're looking for true authentic Thai food from a chef that has pride in his work. I can't wait to come back to try their other unique dishes!

I added in chicken sausage for $3. 5/10: The toast was unbuttered and honestly tasted stale. The potatoes were nice and crispy, but unsalted and quite plain. The eggs were nice, I got mine scrambled. Sausages were okay, I think I actually ended up with the pork sausages rather than chicken. My plate was $26 and I can confidently say it is not worth close to that unfortunately. Brussel Florentine Benedict 6/10: My partner was intrigued by the ton yum hollandaise sauce. There was a hint of it which was nice. Benedicts were okay, nothing special. Coconut oat matcha 8/10: On the sweeter side, but enjoyable! I liked the toasted coconut pieces on top and thought it was a nice drink. Premium matcha wise, I don't agree necessarily, but hey it was an enjoyable drink. Drip coffee 0/10: My partner loves a drip coffee and not in a snobby way. From diner coffee to honestly plain old regular slightly brunt coffee, thats her jam. This coffee was just burnt. Not sure what happened but it was $5 for a completely bitter cup of burnt coffee. Not great. Fun side note: As we were ordering the table next to us called attention to their dish as their waffle was completely undercooked and tasted bitter. The wait staff was apologetic about it, but seemed to either not understand or insist it was "too sweet" not undercooked or bitter. The table was very polite about it so honestly it was not the best look for the restaurant. It was simply feedback and I don't believe it was taken very well. Regardless, just a fun note to throw in! We will not be back unfortunately. There are many lovely brunch spots and restaurants around the city and sadly I don't think this one is worth a try just because of the cost for the quality, but I always tell myself its always worth to try in case you do think differently!

While we were in San Francisco, we decided to visit New Thai Elephant for dinner…read more That was a great choice. Food was amazing and prices were reasonable. Surprisingly, their menu prices were a bit lower than most restaurants here in the OC and their servings were huge. We had: papaya salad, pad see ew, beef stew noodles soup, mango shrimp salad, roti with curry dipping, and a seafood salad, which I forgot to take a photo and didn't realize that until we were almost done eating. Service was good. Absolutely a must try if you're in San Francisco.

So that sucked. 1st let's admire my Thai Ice Tea. This was so adorable & I felt bad drowning him in my tea ha 2nd - my co-worker said this was the 2nd best Pad Thai he's ever had. They grill the tofu so it's got some crunch to it. Which totally elevates the Pad Thai. My Panang Curry with duck was excellent! Decent amount of duck just a few bones. Great little kick on the spice BUT not so spicy that it makes you regret life choices! Delicious will order again. The only thing I'd complain about is that my rice wasn't sticky. I prefer stickier rice - but this rice is perfect if you don't have a preference. I don't want fully unwashed mush but I like a little more starch. My other co-worker ordered Roasted duck over rice - he said it was tasty & would order again. We did order chicken satay and the chicken had good flavor BUT the peanut sauce was just ok. I'd order it again to see if it was just an off day for the sauce. It's a small restaurant & filled quickly at lunch. Many Asians eating there which told me it would be good. Restrooms were slippery so be careful but clean. Overall I would come again!

The mushroom soup was the best thai soup I've ever had in my life! It has the sourness of tom yang soup but with a hint of sweetness and creaminess that balances it out so well! The tender, juicy chicken curry was flavored to perfection, the salad and butternut squash were refreshing, and the three grains complemented the meal so nicely. I was stuffed by the end, but not uncomfortably so. Prices were pretty fair; regular sets are $20-something and the seasonal sets are in the 30's. I really appreciated the amazing service we got too. We showed up at 6 pm on a Wednesday night with no reservations for 3 people, but the hostess said she could give us a table for around an hour, before the reserving party arrives, if we were ok with it. They were also very flexible about switching out one of the items in the sets we didn't like as much. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable and 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone! The most well-done Thai food I've ever had!

The papaya salad was spicy and sour, making it a refreshing palate cleanser before the main dishes. The pork belly had great flavor and came in a generous portion. I also tried the chicken curry, which paired beautifully with the rice. One of my favorite parts was the three different types of rice--I mixed them together with the dishes, which made each bite a little more interesting. The coconut mushroom soup was amazing, with a rich and comforting flavor. I was surprisingly impressed by the eggplant side dish as well. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant's texture, but it was cooked so well that I actually enjoyed it, and the flavorful sauce helped even more. To finish, the mango coconut pudding was light and refreshing. You could really taste the freshness of the mango, and it wasn't overly sweet--a perfect ending to the meal. Many tables to choose from on a Saturday. The restaurant itself is hidden away in an alleyway so not a lot of foot traffic, it's like a hole in the wall restaurant that you have to find.
