Came across this restaurant on a road trip and we reallneeded some rice. It was full around 4:30pm on a Sunday which surprised us. It has the Thai vibe because we can hear the sizzling sound from the kitchen. Food was not bad and lived up to the Thai standard. Good one on a road trip.

My man and I were craving Thai food and wanted to try a new place in Bakersfield. This place definitely hits. All 3 dishes were very flavorful. Cravings satisfied and will definitely come by again!

This is by FAR the best Thai food I have ever had. I ordered the pad se ewe and it was so flavorful, the vegetables were marinated with the sauce and the chicken was so tender and delicious. The servers were very attentive and answered any and all questions with kindness and patience. I will bring the rest of my family next time I come so they too can taste just how wonderful this delicious, authentic, Thai food is. Thank you

Egg rolls, the best orange chicken I've ever had in my life, and Pad-See-Ew noodle dish.

This has to be the best Thai place I've ever eaten... the orange chicken here is 48X better than any Chinese food place you've ever eaten, it is light crispy, fluffy, and actually taste like orange. The Pad-see-ew was amazing also with Fat noodles that are imo slightly better than pad Thai. I know I eat Thai food like a total white guy, but I don't think there's any wrong choices here. The inside the restaurant is really nice and clean and the server is friendly. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

I had the Pad See Ew and it is excellent! The server was extremely friendly and efficient and the food was served piping hot and fresh! I highly recommend Thai House

I have been wanting to come here since forever, but never tried it until recently, since my recent visit I have now come back several times. Their menu is huge so if you never visited before, you should probably check out the menu online if you're in a rush. I'm a huge fan of Thai food and it's probably one of my favorite cuisines. Right now my favorite items are probably the eggplant, pad Thai, and the drunken noodles. I'm yet to try other items from their menu. They have such a wide selection that it's hard to choose. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it's good because everything we have tried was delicious. My first review for 2024 definitely had to be a local restaurant!!! Every time I've eaten food from here it has been take out. The inside seems okay, you can tell they've probably been here for awhile and it seems like they used to be more upscale. I don't know if that makes any sense. Staff is always friendly and helpful when you ask questions about an item. If you haven't been, you should definitely go.

Great lunch time deals at Thai House! They have a great menu for lunch for good prices under $15. The portions were really big for a lunch menu. I've been to other places for lunch and they do smaller portions, but I had to get a to go box for my meal!! I had the tour of Thailand for $14. It had red curry, rice, pad Thai, a piece of bbq chicken, along with some rice chips and sweet/sour sauce, and some cabbage. Really yummy! We were here for a long lunch meeting for about 2 hours and they never tried to kick us out or rush us. Wait staff was very friendly. They were half to 75 percent full and they were very attentive to everyone's needs. We will be back!!

Trip To Thailand ( Lunch Special)

Very nice, the food is very flavorful and the service is perfect. They always check in, they make you feel taken care of. I ordered the lunch special trip to Thailand and I highly recommend it. The place has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed compared to a super busy running restaurant. Highly recommended this place 10/10

We've lived in Bako over 20 years now. Not sure how long this place has been here but we finally decided to give it a try. My first impression was that the inside was a little run down, definitely time for a facelift. Service however was friendly and quick. We ordered some shrimp rolls (5), I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my husband the Mongolian beef. I thought the pad Thai was really good. My husband said his dish lacked beef; probably would not order this dish again.

Great clean place, attentive staff and the food was really good The only "complaint" is their prices are different as they are on their website. They're 15% less on their website. I ordered Tom Kha soup and an ordered of steamed rice.. total came out to $22. While I was sitting there dining, someone called about this issue.. I heard the guy at the counter saying "those prices on-line are from our old menu".. which makes no sense, why not update THIR OWN website? Other than that... it's 5-stars.

Spicy, stir-fried flat rice noodles with your choice of meat (we picked chicken and beef & pork are available for an additional fee) chili, garlic, basil, onion, bell pepper, carrot and tomato. You can pick your level of spicy and we went with spicy. 5/5 2. Crying Tiger $18.95, Thai style grilled beef. Served medium rare with spicy tamarind sauce. This was definitely my favorite. The meat was tender with a bit of fattiness, oh so good. 5/5 3. Thai Boat Noodle Soup $16.95, a savory herbal broth with pork rinds, beansprouts, Chinese broccoli, choice of noodles and choice of beef or pork, topped with fried garlic, green onion, and cilantro. And a TV hung up that was playing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at the time, which was fun to have on. The service at this restaurant was fantastic! Our server was very attentive, sweet, and made sure to check in on us at different points during our meal. The great thing about the meal is that it's family style! We ordered the yellow curry and the pineapple fried rice. When the meal came out, they handed us separate plates for each of us to serve the portion we wanted. I only experienced a couple of negatives when it came to the food and that was: 1. The yellow curry was so delicious and had a nice coco-nutty flavor, but it felt like a few too many potatoes and not enough chicken. 2. The pineapple fried rice lacked pineapple. I love a few pineapple chunks in my fried rice but this had more of the pineapple flavoring and none of the actual fruit. Now, these aren't as much negatives as they are dish preferences. Everything still tasted solid and we left with our Thai food craving satisfied! Btw, make sure when you visit not to sleep on their dessert. The dessert is the best part! Well, let's just say I've had better potstickers from the grocery store's frozen section than this place... They were incredibly small and flavorless. If this is what is recommended, the steamed version must be inedible. Thankfully the Chicken Pad Thai actually had some flavor, but nothing to recommend to anymore. There is certainly better out there... This alone is definitely not a reason to go back. To make matters worse, it was pretty expensive... $31 for a plate and appetizer? No, just no. My favorite place at home for a huge plate and the same appetizer is $22, and my city is more expensive to live in. Heck, even amazing hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurants in Los Angeles (you know, one of the most expensive places to live) is cheaper than this place. And if this matters to anyone, the restaurant and restrooms are pretty beat up and dingy. It's not a comfortable or welcoming environment. The restaurant is located on California and Stockdale in a nonchalant retail center and kind of tucked in the back. There is plenty of parking and it is safe as there are a ton of lights around. When I walked in the place was a little busy with a few families wrapping up their dinners. They have a few booths, one long community table in the middle of the restaurant and then they have a large booth that can probably accommodate 4 to 5 adult adults. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. And my server was kind enough to explain the level of spiciness for each curry and how they are prepared. There is a sign at the check-in encounter that states they do not use MSG in their restaurant... So I'm sure this is a major plus for people that are sensitive to MSG. I ordered the eggrolls from the appetizer menu, a Thai iced tea with Boba, and the chicken curry, which is a yellow, mild curry, and that came with a side of rice. The Thai iced tea was delicious. Unlike other places, I've had it. It was not too sweet, just sweet enough. The Boba was tender and chewy and was also sweetened so whoever made it knew what they were doing. The eggrolls came out and were served with a side of what I will call cucumber relish. The cucumber relish was delicious and so refreshing. It contained finally sliced cucumber, as well as minced red onion, and some sort of sauce, and a little bit of sweetness. It definitely complimented the egg rolls. The eggrolls are vegetarian egg rolls. They do contain glass noodles. While they were delicious and fresh, I found them to be a little bit bland. The vegetables inside the egg roll could use a little seasoning and they could have been cooked a little bit longer to get the vegetables to steam a little bit longer. While I like my vegetables firm, I definitely don't like them raw, especially inside an egg roll. The chicken curry was also very tasty. And while it is the milder of the curries, it had a little punch. That is OK by me because I like spicy things. The curry broth or sauce was very flavorful and creamy. The chicken was also delicious. It was diced or sliced white meat, it looks like they use chicken breast, and you could tell that it was seasoned and potentially boiled in a seasoned broth. So everything blended together and was flavorful. The chicken curry also had some potato... I personally would like more potato and maybe some carrots. The white rice was also good... It was pretty standard and customary however they could add a little bit more. While looking at the menu, I noticed that they had lunch specials and they were very good deals. I recommend this place either for lunch or for dinner... I am definitely going back to try some of the other dishes. My meal was so good. I ordered pineapple fried rice to go. And of course, I had to taste it when I got home. It was tasty but could use a little more seasoning. Since it's been overnight in my fridge already, I am hoping that the flavors had an opportunity to blend together and I'm looking forward to enjoying it for lunch later today. Enjoy! Ps. I posted a picture of one of my to-go containers... they are great quality and leak proof, which is a major plus when you have to take saucy food home.
