Thai house holds its own when it comes to Thai food in Bakersfield. THE FOOD.. Gyoza were tasty--especially with the side sauce--and the Shrimp Pad Thai really stood out. The shrimp had that perfect snap, and the noodles were tender. The dish was a little too sweet for my taste, but a splash of soy sauce balanced it backbto normal. The Chicken Pad Thai was similar--same quick fix, same great result. STAFF.. Even though it was busy, the staff were friendly and attentive, keeping our drinks filled and service was smooth. Had the Tom Kha Gai (coconut cream chicken soup). It was very good and the hot pot kept it steaming. My wife thought it was a bit too sweet. When I mentioned it to the staff they politely told me to ask for it to be less sweet next time. That was really cool and all the staff were attentive and polite. The atmosphere is good because the staff makes you feel like family. The prices are fair and the portions are generous. We also ordered the Pad Khee Mow ( Drunken noodles) regular spicy. I asked them to bring me some chili paste to make mine spicier and was brought some right away. The Pad Khee Mow was awesome and fulfilled my craving for at least a week or so. This has to be the best Thai place I've ever eaten... the orange chicken here is 48X better than any Chinese food place you've ever eaten, it is light crispy, fluffy, and actually taste like orange. The Pad-see-ew was amazing also with Fat noodles that are imo slightly better than pad Thai. I know I eat Thai food like a total white guy, but I don't think there's any wrong choices here. Their menu is huge so if you never visited before, you should probably check out the menu online if you're in a rush. I'm a huge fan of Thai food and it's probably one of my favorite cuisines. Right now my favorite items are probably the eggplant, pad Thai, and the drunken noodles. I'm yet to try other items from their menu. They have such a wide selection that it's hard to choose. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it's good because everything we have tried was delicious. My first review for 2024 definitely had to be a local restaurant!!! Every time I've eaten food from here it has been take out. The inside seems okay, you can tell they've probably been here for awhile and it seems like they used to be more upscale. We came from a long drive from sequoia and we had our dog. I thought they had outdoor seating so it would accommodate for our pet. They don't have outdoor seating but the staff kindly allowed me to bring my small dog inside! I was surprised to their kind service and they even offered my pet water in a bowl. I moved to Paso Robles last year. This restaurant is the only place that I miss since moving up here. I loved the food and became a regular. I've eaten at a couple Thai places in Paso, and they can't compare to the food or service Thai House provides its customers. I was a regular, at Thai House eating there 3 or 4 times per month. When I would pick up my order I was treated like a friend, and the food was always consistent and always delicious. Thai House has always been reliable spot for Thai Food. It's really easy to miss on that side of town, but I would highly recommend giving this place a shot. Their food feels authentic, and they have the knack to make it spicy if you dare request it. My friend wanted some seafood and I'm so glad we took the plunge and got a dish with their squid! It is really easy to mess up and overcook squid, which often gives it a rubbery texture. These superstars made it just right! Every thing was great, the fried rice felt a little oily, but I'll forgive it. Make sure you come during lunch or dinner as they close at some time midday. read more

Gina & Noy we're my friendly gracious servers. I ordered the Gui Kua. It is pan fried wide rice noodles with egg, green onion, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts and your choice of protein or vegetarian. It was Served on a bed of lettuce. This was the first time I've had this particular dish, it was delicious. There are many vegetarian choices and probably vegan as well. My experience is that the service is always prompt, efficient and quick. The food comes out quickly and is always delicious. Great place to eat been going there since I opened up. Got an Uber order dinner this evening was everything was warmed up and old and greasy it was absolutely unacceptable. My spicy fried rice had bits of shrimp in it and rice was old and sticky. The eggplant dish was very bland greasy and tasteless just thrown together nothing like we've had before. The orange chicken was fried skin pretty much it was rewarmed up so bad it was pathetic. Could not even eat it chicken was spindly inside the refried and refried supposed to be breast for the orange chicken. Could not even eat it would never pass through your throat if you tried. The sweet potatoes were soggy greasy horribly nasty and cold. We are very disappointed this evening as to what we received from them. At this time we'll be not ordering from this place anymore. I left orders what I made my order from Uber letting him know that I just had cancer surgery I have cancer stomach issues unfortunately. Usually they follow what they supposed to do but the last two times it was not good it was absolutely horrible could not even eat like I said unacceptable. I wish them well and I hope they change and make fresh food for people who make over $100 orders on uber. Extra spicy it was not (it never is, from anywhere) but I did not like the price of almost $18 for this one dish. Yes, I got shrimp and it is pricier but I did not expect them to charge me extra for asking for a wedge of lime and a tablespoon of peanuts? Usually comes standard. I will come back here but it will be less often than if the prices were a bit more reasonable. It's not close to home either. Singapore noodles though.... it would be like my death bed, last rites meal if I could still eat. I love them so much and they use the correct seasoning and noodles here for it. read more

With that said, Thai House has the best Nam Jim Satay aka the Satay Peanut sauce. Seriously hoping they can bottle this goodness! No matter what you order here, everything is good! My favorites are the Papaya salad and the Pepper Garlic Beef. The Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) is the perfect balance of rich/creamy and tangy. Pad see ewe and chicken satay are also go-to orders from my picky kids.
