Father daughter time is so important! We both had the same day off and went to grab some lunch in the downtown area. It was a Wednesday and it was SO BUSY! It was welcomed to see our businesses flourishing and generating money. We originally were going to hit a sandwich and smoothie spot, however it was a let down. Long lines, no where to sit, unfriendly staff, so we decided to leave and sit down at this place and have some Thai food. I am so glad we did!!! This place is affordable, quick, safe and delicious!! The service we received was top notch. My iced tea was never empty and our server checked on us unobtrusively. We both got the lunch special, which includes an appetizer and an entree for $9.99!!! I got the spring rolls and traditional pad Thai. Delicious!!!!! Everything is made in house and is so fresh!! I am absolutely in love with this place and will return the next time I visit my dad. Thai Haven has excellent, authentic cuisine. It is clean, has polite servers and food is prepared quickly. My frustration has been this venue closing before the posted 2pm time... and not on one occasion, but 3 specific times... once soon after we were seated. It is incredibly disappointing to make 2 trips to specifically to meet a friend to eat lunch here and having to eat elsewhere. I have eaten here for lunch numerous times. Thai Haven's food is on a par or superior to Thai dishes I've enjoyed in Denver, CO. During today's lunch I chose a lunch special combination of one appetizer, Fried wonton, and one entree, Ultimate Ginger, served with Jasmine rice. I like spicy food and requested the same medium heat sauce available on other selections. The server said, "Certainly." My food arrived promptly, the appetizer slightly ahead of the entree. I was quite hungry and took a bite of the wonton before I took the picture. Oops. The sauce that came with the wonton was complex with a slightly sweet and tangy flavor. Also, I noticed the menu has been expanded at lunch compared to what I found online before my visit. The Ultimate Ginger entree had just the right amount of grated fresh ginger, complimenting the vegetables and chicken. We wanted to take out since we didn't get reservation at Legoland Hotel. We usually love most of the Asian food when we travel north. We saw great reviews for this place and decided to give it a shot. The food (we ordered Pad Thai, Pad se ew, satay and spring rolls - pretty basic Thai food items. We ordered mild as well usually do due to taste preferences, was so bland and you could taste burned food even though it wasn't burned. I'm going to get straight to the point - The food here is among the best Thai food we've had - period. The Mrs had Pad Thai (ok - I helped her. A lot) and ordered the Pad Se Ew. Both were cooked to perfection, tasty and delightful. As far as one Yelpster's comment about the portion sizes being small, we felt they were better than average size for the cost. Her beverage was the hot ginger tea which she thoroughly enjoyed. The interior is inviting and the color palette is pleasing. Traditional Thai art and wall hangings break up the space. I'm not from Winter Haven and my boyfriend and I went to this place because it was highly recommended, and we love Thai food. The service was great as we didn't have to wait long for our food. However, I wouldn't have minded waiting a little longer if it meant our food was going to be more flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the beef salad and requested it "Thai Hot"(which pretty much means as spicy as possible). Not only did we feel like it had no flavor and wasn't spicy at all, but we also felt like it was more sweet than anything. I ordered Panang curry with chicken, and I must say it was just way to sweet for me. Service overall was great, however the food was lacking so much flavor which was very disappointing. At the time of this review the restaurant was running a "lunch special"; an appetizer and entree for ten dollars. Having watched this space with interest and having the time today, I popped in to check the place out. I was incredulous when I saw the menu - you have a lunch special at a Thai place and pad Thai isn't one of the offered dishes? Despite its controversial origins in Thai cuisine, it's the national dish of Thailand. It really should be spotlighted. I chose the spring rolls as my appetizer and got something called "chili jam" as my entree, which I dared them to make as hot as possible. The spring rolls were frankly disappointing, with excellent texture but with very little to offer in the realm of taste. When my chili jam arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The warm sensation I felt would likely have most people tapping out - I'm an experienced eater of spicy Thai food, having worked in a Thai kitchen, and this stood up to my standards. Despite the unconventional name, the entree was worth the disappointing appetizer. The wait staff was quick and attentive, bringing me extra rice as soon as it was apparent it would be needed, and as soon as my glass hit half full it was being refilled. The ambience is a bit strange. Minimalist and world music influenced versions of Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga played softly as I ate. Overall a pleasant experience and a good addition to downtown Winter Haven. If you're in the area, try to stop in and enjoy it. read more

Been here the last time we visited Legoland. Didn't remember how we liked it but we tried their takeout this time. Pad See Ew was dry and favorless. The chicken skewers were tiny for $9 and didn't come with peanut sauce. The only dish that was decent was their Thai green curry. Overall, it was disappointing for a $60 dinner. Fantastic food! Thai Haven is a cozy restaurant in a pleasant shopping district in downtown Winter Haven. Food was astounding and service was excellent! Go to Thai Haven if you would like a truly amazing dining experience. Chicken satay was very flavorful and came with its own fire pot to keep each piece warm. Coming from a metro area (Los Angeles) where there's an abundance of yummy Thai restaurants at every turn of a corner, I wasn't expecting much from this place since we were in a small town and the Asian population is minuscule here. But (!!), I was pleasantly surprised! We ordered Chicken Yellow Curry and Tofu Drunken Noodles... Both flavorful!! Another pleasant surprise, the spicy level was as I had hoped for--they didn't "Americanize" it! :P The BF ordered Thai Iced Tea, but that was a bit too sweet for the both of us--he even added more water to it o_O I won't be judging a restaurant by the town's size anymore! :D read more

We came here one Saturday and then we've literally been back every single Saturday since. Staff is friendly and even knows us know and has our order memorized. The red and Penang curries are incredible. The chicken satay is out of this world. We moved from WA a year ago which has some amazing Thai restaurants. We hadn't found anything great in Florida. But this is worth the trip from Davenport to Winter Haven and back every single week. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. read more

The food is really good here, always fresh and flavorful. They give an arrangement of sauces/seasonings that are very good additions to the dishes. The service is very friendly and fast. We've eaten here quite a few times and it's consistently good. kid friendly and food they'll like too. When we bring our kids here we order them the appetizer chicken patay (I think that's the spelling) none the less it's on the appetizer section and the kids absolutely love it because it comes with a little mini grill to sear their chicken on *it's already cooked though. Portions are generous and there's a good variety. The desserts are equally note worthy, the Thai Crepe and the Coconut Rice pudding so unique and yummy. The place is clean and inviting and for the most part one of the best choices in Winter Haven to grab a bite. read more

Stopped in here after picking up some scrubs at Megs Scrubs and Boutique. Sat by the window and watched the palm trees away. Ordered the lunch special with spring rolls and pad Thai with tofu. Both were really yummy. Came out super hot and quick. Friendly service. Probably wild give it five stars except the table behind me found something in their last bites of brown rice so I had that I my head while I was eating. Got back to my hotel, (which is literally 10 mins down the street) to be surprised by food that was almost unbearable to eat. Everything was sweet. I understand Thai food has a hint of sugar, but this was overboard. Beef and minced pork salad had no rice powder, too much lemongrass and was extra sweet. Red curry had almost no meat or veggie, might as well call it a red curry soup. Three flavor fish, which they claimed to be red snapper was beyond fishy! Rice was definitely not jasmine rice, must had been some long grain. Overall the only thing that was edible was the lemongrass soup with barely any chicken. Pretty upsetting. read more

Authentic! I ordered Lemongrass soup and chicken Penang curry. My wife ordered Healthy roll and chicken Green curry. All were absolutely delicious! Lemongrass Soup was spicy and hot. Others may not like it as spicy as I do. I loved it. The healthy roll is a vegetarian roll but the sauce that came with it was excellent. Penang curry was perfect with the chicken cooked in the sauce and tender. Green curry was more basil flavored and tasted great. All in all, this is a great discovery and we will be back many many times. read more

Amazing pad Thai here! A generous portion of chicken that was juicy and tender. The noodles were the perfect texture and the sauce rich and flavorful. Their Thai salad had the BEST peanut dressing I think I have ever had (I eat Thai at least once a week at various places and this was the spot!) I ordered Thai iced tea, pad Thai, and the Thai salad.
