Came in right at 4pm for their dinner service, this was our first time and I was excited to try them since I heard about all of the vegan options and the dishes that can easily be made vegan. We were the only patrons, greeted immediately and sat promptly near the front windows looking out. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes offered and ingredients used. I started with the healthy fresh rolls which are the lowest cost of anywhere I've had them at only $4 for for large rolls and a service if yummy peanut sauce, the sauce is made in house and very good. I took the waitresses advice and ordered the cashew nut dish which she said was her favorite, I picked pan fried tofu for my protein, the dish was $11 and a good size portion. I will say the dish had some heat to it but not much flavor, all veggies and rice were perfectly cooked and went well together with the cashews. My boyfriend had the Haven fried rice with shrimp which has yellow curry seasoning in it, it was also a suggestion from the waitress and while he really likes curry he didn't like the rice. We shared the coconut ice cream (it's vegan!) and it was heavenly! Many of their deserts are vegan which is a really nice surprise. We found free 2 hr street parking right in front but I imagine parking may be difficult around lunch time since many businesses are in the area. The Krab Rangoon was a good appetizer, the creamy krab and cream cheese filling was encased in a lightly crisp shell and paired with a sweet and spicy sauce that complimented the dish nicely. The Cashew Nut with Shrimp was a delicious entrée with a mixture of tender shrimp, juicy mushrooms, crunchy whole cashews, crisp snow peas, carrots, celery and water chestnuts all marinated in a flavorful and spicy chili and curry sauce. read more

You control the heat. Service is friendly, food delivery is quicker than expected, plating is appetizing, portion size is perfect. I was cautioned by a relative that they didn't think the Thai food at Thai Haven was authentic. That relative has lost their taste credibility, since we found the dishes we bought today not only authentic but delicious and spicy as we had hoped. Our drinks were kept filled throughout the meal. The spice level was close to perfect inasmuch I would have it spicier in all scenarios. I found since moving to Florida that there are a lot of spice wimps. The restaurants have to satisfy the majority who don't like spice versus the patrons who enjoy a spicy meal. The meals we chose were both medium spice and were excellent. I would probably ask them to make the dishes spicier our next visit, but that makes me look forward to the dishes I love and the next visit. BTW, Thai Haven spring rolls were delicious and the cucumber salad was refreshing. Just for appetizers alone, this restaurant is a winner. Thai Haven has a full bar and I saw one patron enjoying a martini lunch. The place was busy despite street construction that made it challenging to get to the restaurant in downtown Winterhaven, and it was obvious the restaurant has loyal patrons who return frequently based on the greetings between patrons walking in and the owner. I made reservations and a girl called to check on me right as I was walking up and she was so nice. Cute little place. The food....omg the food...so good!!! Every single person loved it. Walked in on a Saturday I sell from my wife and there was only one other patient there. The woman pointed to a table which already had our menus and silverware down and then walked away. Sat there for 10 minutes no one came up whatsoever so we decided to walk out. I wish I could give a review of the food but I didn't even get a chance to drink or eat anything. I understand it's hard times not a lot of people are working but at least let your customers know that to be patient. Even the gentleman that wanted to pay his bill had a ring a bell. Papaya Salad was soo salty that I couldn't take a second bite. Fried rice and Pad see ew had too much of roughly chopped onions and green peppers that overwhelm the pallet. Pad see ew is a joke here. They use industrial flat rice noodle which is tough and chewy and preparation is not even close to how Pad see ew should be cooked.
