I am glad I decided to try out THAI Gourmet. I ordered it to go from their website and it was prepared fast in about 15 minutes. I was craving Thai food recently and decided to try a new place. I ordered both the green curry fried rice and the tofu pad thai and specified a level 4 spice. One thing I enjoyed about the dishes is that they make food spicy without adding a bunch of oil - instead, they use a chili powder blend to achieve higher spice levels. Would have liked to give a more positive review. Came here recently and got two things, the pad see ew and the tom yum gong. The soup was probably the more disappointing of the two. I didn't detect any spice in it, and I didn't have any adjustments to my order so I'm not really sure why it would be left out. Perhaps this is an adjustment to the American palette, but I really feel like this is an essential ingredient that was missing. As for the pad see ew, the noodle isn't quite right either. I understand there might be some constraints on what you can get in the midwest in terms of supply, but I don't think this was the kind of noodle one would expect when ordering this dish. In addition, the noodles seemed kind of undercooked, an almost al dente style to them, which is really not the way I was expecting this dish to be. Amazing flavor and service!! Decorated for Valentines Day- beautiful roses and cute hearts! Every meal was made freshly and to order. We had the Panang curry with crispy chicken, pineapple curry with shrimp, Chicken Satay, and fried rice. Our server kept our drinks topped off so we could handle the spice, and he even brought extra sauce when he noticed we had eaten all ours. Plus we got a free container with a delicious cream cake- perfect way to end the meal. This is my new go-to Thai place in OFallon. I always ask for a level 3 and I feel like they use a standardized measurement system in their kitchen. I've been happy with the spice level of my food both times. After a long break for no particular reason I tried THAI Gourmet's Pad Thai again. I ordered it with pork for takeout about 7pm. Pad Thai ingredients are similar to fried rice, but noodles replace the rice and peanut sauce takes the place of soy sauce. I received a large portion--enough for two or enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. It came out quickly and HOT and was still steaming when I arrived home. Plenty of peanut sauce gave it wonderful flavor. However, I'd prefer more mixing before I got it: The noodles and pork were combined but all other ingredients were set individually on top. Stirring them into the heavy noodles without splashing sauce around was a challenge. Also, the so little egg could have been omitted. Language was a problem when I tried to get menu questions answered because English was not the first language of the woman taking my order. But, we were both patient as we helped each other's understanding. It's worth a return to take more advantage of the large menu selection. read more

The pad thai was tasty but came as a brick. The fried chicken bread is a weird combination of bageutte with chicken, tasty but why. The tom yum and tom kha weren't very good. Just lemongrass water and diluted coconut milk, respectively. The massaman curry with chicken was the best. Tasty peanuts, curry, potatoes, onions, all over rice. We have tried a series of their appetizers like the Thai rolls, the crispy rolls and the papaya salad, all have been delicious... but the main courses are the story. I came for lunch with a co-worker. We hadn't been in awhile and had heard they changed it a bit. Well they definitely had. The interior is looking really nice now and the food was delicious. I got a Yellow Curry with 3 spice level and it was the perfect amount of spice. Lunch also came with a soup, crab rangoon, and a spring roll - all of which were delicious. I will definitely be coming back and getting more food. My co worker ordered the red curry and she really liked it as well. The only negative was when they delivered my co-worker's order they gave her the wrong thing. So they immediately took it away and we waited a bit for the new item. Normally this is understandable but while we were there it happened to another table which makes me think it might be a regular occurrence. The sauce was almost non-existent. There was so little chicken that I opened a can of chicken, found some asian stir-fry sauce in the pantry and heated the chicken in that, and poured it over the noodles. So I basically cooked my own dinner with the exception of some rice noodles that Thai Gourmet provided. So disappointed as they are close to my house.
