I've heard great things about this place... until I tried it. The building was cute and easy to get to. Parking was a little difficult as they were busy. I ordered take-out over the phone it was very difficult to understand them. I picked up my order (drunken noodles) and they were HORRIBLE. Tasted like they sat in water for a week. Soggy and no taste. I ended up throwing it out, I couldn't even eat it. Call ahead to see if they are open, I hear they go back to Thailand once a year and are closed for months at a time. I've been wanting to try Thai Garden since I moved to Georgetown, but the one time I planned to go they were doing renovations. Now, they've reopened, so I stopped by for lunch. The place is cheerful, a cute yellow house with a pretty green interior. I was seated quickly even though the restaurant was full by the one woman who handled everything out front. She waited on all of the tables, bussed all of the tables and was the cashier. And yet, my order was taken quickly and my food came out quickly. I got the Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp - my favorite Thai dish. The spiciness was perfection. The shrimp were ample and a nice size. It was a large portion and I had more than enough to box up for a second lunch at home. It was some of the best food I've had in Georgetown - I'll be back. read more

Now the first thing that made me give them 5 stars is the Thai tea most places that have it have no free refills where here they give u 3 free refills which is plenty in my opinion Next their food and service, Service: they are very good at watching for empty cups so u don't have to wait 10 minutes for a refills like other places and the food was amazing it wasn't too hot and wasn't too mild. This place was nasty! I'm from Seattle, WA and have eaten pad Thai many times before and have never had anything this nasty!!! I even told the lady it was nasty and super sweet before I paid and she was like that's how it is here, I've worked at places where they make it even sweeter . WTH? She mentioned something about a pepper plate but that's not how u should receive pad Thai, they never even asked how spicy I would like it while taking my order, so I assumed that it would just be a little spicy, boy was I wrong! This is a "don't judge a book by its cover" place. The decor and outside doesn't look appealing from the road or from the front door but I was craving Thai food. I sat in my little corner while a mom tried to quiet her energetic child so she could come take our order. I order spring rolls and shrimp dumplings and Thom ka soup to start. They were fresh and hot and the spring rolls and dumplings were great. The soup left much to be desired... until I realized that they didn't add the curry. I asked for the spices and doctored it up myself and it was much better. Still not the best I've had but it hit the spot. Then we ordered chicken pad Thai and chicken skinny noodle and we asked for both to be Thai HOT! They didn't disappoint. I usually have to beg for places to believe me when I say I want it hot but they believed me and exceeded my expectations. I coughed and my nose ran and I smiled through some of the best flavor I've had in a while. The chicken isn't the best and the pad Thai doesn't have vegetables but it was still pad Thai. I learned that I love pad Thai more than skinny noodle because I love the sweetness of the noodles with the spice. The service was great and she managed to do it while also helping her daughter make up songs. Give it a try with an open mind that it's a small Thai place in a small town and tip well! Poor excuse for Pad Thai. Looks like noodles with greasy yellow sauce. I questioned if it was really Pad Thai. Was told yes. That is a joke. My husband is Thai and he agreed with me about the pad thai and complained that the sauce on his food was too watery. With that being said I've eaten at many many Thai restaurants and have never seen Pad Thai served this way. Also, we used to eat at this restaurant, but moved away. We just moved back. We were surprised that it was under the same ownership with the same cook. To top it all off our waitress was too busy hanging with her friends to provide any kind of service. We had to go to the table that SHE WAS SITTING AT to get anything. Even the check. Know that we were the ONLY CUSTOMERS that had. That is the last time I will waste money at this place. I definitely wanted to make a more recent review on this place.. Nonetheless I was hesitant from some of the reviews but I really enjoyed the food here. The parking lot of the location is extremely small and hard to get in and out of somewhat (the only reason for the lack of 5 stars). I walked in shortly after opening at 11:05ish, was greeted quickly and friendly. I placed an order to go. Food was made quickly and very delicious! I ordered the drunken noodles and red curry. They ask how spicy you want your curry, I told them hot. The spice of the curry isn't as hot as an Indian curry would be and I've had spicier curries at other Thai places before so the heat level was a little weaker in my opinion but had a delicious flavor and a nice small kick to it. The drunken noodles were very delicious. Sticky type of texture but I'm assuming that's how most pad Thai or Thai noodle dishes are. I don't have texture issues so no bother to me. Other than that, I enjoyed this place and would definitely come back. read more

I loved this place! First time there and with triplet 20 month olds, whose idea of fun is throwing food and yelling. The people were absolutely wonderful, playing with the kids and ignoring all the noodles and silverware on the floor. The food was delightful and so affordable. I don't understand any of the negative reviews. Health department grades are 100's, prices great, people amazing. Delighted to have gone here. What an excellent little place to grab lunch or dinner. We're always happy to visit, as sometimes we don't want to make the drive into Lexington for Thai food. Depending on when you go, service may be a little slow, because items are made to order, and there is only one woman out front. English is not her first language, and she is very soft spoken, but incredibly friendly and nice. She is more than happy to talk to you about a dish, and has had a small conversation with us many times. IF you are accustomed to very spicy food, I would definitely suggest telling her you want Thai hot, as it seems most who order don't like spicy. We've now had nearly everything on the menu, and every dish was excellent. I suggest getting a Thai roll for an appetizer! read more

I've been to this place twice. I typically try places a few times until I give them a review. This place is ok, nothing to brag about. I'm just NJ and you can beat authentic foods there. When I go to try other places i end up pretty disappointed. Their soup bowls are HUGE, I really wish they had a side bowl. Pad Thai is extremely bland, and they use a lot of oils/butter kinda gives it a fast food taste. Their chilli isn't hot at all. Please get this plate hot if you want any spice. Thai ice is on point! There is one more item on the menu I want to try, so I'll end up finding myself here again soon enough. read more

This would have to be a great hidden gem in Georgetown. From the road it appears to be a ordinary lil yellow house, but looks can be deceiving. Here they serve an array of thai food, but I can't get past the pad thai. I am completely addicted. It is very good and made with such care. The service here is friendly and the place is always clean. The place isn't extremely fast because each item is made per order, but it is excellent. If you are used to the various levels of heat of Thai food I would just recommend order and add spice as desired very spicy is not very spicy.
