Papaya Salad - Yum
Rolando P.

On my first visit, I was greeted by a friendly welcoming lady - Pat. Walking in I kind of know the things I like already and usually test to see if the restaurant is worth another visit. The list is pretty simple and many have it: Spicy Beef Salad Boat Noodle Papaya Salad Mango Salad Chicken Rice Around here most restaurants won't offer boat noodle, mango salad or chicken rice but many will offer their take on the salad and papaya salad. Oddly Thai Fix doesn't have the salad but, but they have have boat noodle and papaya salad. I placed my order for a soup and salad at their highest heat level. The added heat makes the meal an adventure. I grow bird chilis at home and eat them right off the tree. While I waited I got an ice cold Singha, my order was ready within about 10-minutes. I said my thank yous and goodbyes and went on my way. When I got home I warmed the soup a bit and got to work. The broth was dark, rich and beefy with a notable heat. The beef in the soup was plentiful and tender while the rice noodles, though thinner than I like, went perfectly well with everything and was not sticky or clumpy. Overall the soup was great and well balanced. Best of all it was hot! I could go hotter but this was great. I am not a fan of ripe mango or papaya but unripe and treated with those delicious, savory Thai flavors is amazing! Once again level 10 heat, I made myself a little plate just to try it as I was already full from the soup. It was also really, really good, fresh, light, and crunchy with the prefect balance of acidity and heat! Everyone there was super nice and inviting. Can't wait to go back to try some on the other selections!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands-down the worst Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the Crying Thaiger expecting flavorful, tender beef, but what I got was pale, mystery meat that looked more like pork or chicken--definitely not beef. The noodles? Literally Top Ramen with soy sauce. No depth of flavor, no real effort, just a sad, overpriced bowl of disappointment. Every single dish was a disaster, and I left feeling completely ripped off. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

My 1st time here. Pleasantly surprised! Super sweet service by the woman at the counter. Prompt and friendly service. We shared a chicken pad Thai and crab Rangoon. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned well. The portions were generous. Chicken pad Thai could have had more chicken. Be sure to ask for extra spice on the side. They'll then pull out a refrigerated 4-some spice and seasoning basket. Add your own blend from here to whatever dish you're having to kick it up a notch. Yum! Easy spacious parking. I'll be back!! They participate in GrubHub.

We absolutely LOVED our experience at Thai Fix! We have ordered take out from here before but never dined inside. We are SO happy we did. The staff was beyond wonderful. So attentive and sweet. The yellow curry was PERFECT (spice level 3) ! It was the kids favorite! We also loved the chicken chow mein, veggie fried rice and pad Thai. Such a cute small restaurant. Perfect spot for a nice intimate dining experience!

The drunken noodles were horrible. No flavor. The salmon curry was the weakest I've had and no flavor and salmon was dry and over cooked.

My job is to help you avoid the tragic first‑date mistakes I've already made, like the overpriced spots, the bland dishes, the "why is this chair attacking my spine?" seating. I've wasted the time, energy and money on the other loser spots so you don't have to. But when I find a place that's clean, visually appealing, thoughtfully designed, and serving food that's actually seasoned, cooked well, and plated with pride? Oh, I'm shouting it from the rooftops. So let me put you on to my latest discovery: DIHO SIAM, right in the heart of Ladera Ranch. If you've followed me on Yelp for a while, you already know I'm a lifelong Thai‑food fanatic. I've been loyal to Thai cuisine longer than some people stay loyal in relationships. Since I wasn't trying to overeat, I ordered an appetizer, and let me tell you, this "appetizer" came out looking like a BIG FULL-GROWN lunch. I'm not a big white‑meat gal, so I asked if they had anything with dark meat. I ended up with chicken wings and drumsticks in a sweet‑and‑sour sauce. The moment I cut into that chicken? I ascended. The breading had that perfect balance...not too salty, not too bland...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I'm not saying I had a foodie‑induced spiritual experience, but if I did, nobody needed to know. One look at the rest of the menu and I knew I'd be back. Yes, I will absolutely make the 45‑minute drive to try their lunch dishes. It's worth it. And the prices? Shockingly reasonable considering the economy is basically held together with duct tape and vibes. Now, my one note for the owners: please, for the love of all things holy and iced... offer a dairy‑free Thai iced tea option. It was 94° today, and I was ready to down two giant glasses, but they only use half‑and‑half. This is California. We are oat‑milk, soy‑milk, almond‑milk, "I'm‑on‑Ozempic‑don't‑judge‑me" people. Give the people what they want. Add oat milk to the menu, put a cute little 4x5 flyer in a clear acrylic stand on each table announcing your new dairy‑free Thai iced tea, and watch customers flock to it. And just to close this out on a high note: I'm 100% coming back to Diho Siam. There are way too many dishes on that menu calling my name, and I fully intend to answer. Consider this my official teaser...I'll be updating my Yelp Elite Squad review after my next visit, and trust me, people wait for those updates like they wait for a second date after a great first one. I might even give you an extra star and make it a Five-Star review! Wink! wink! Stay tuned, because this place has officially earned a spot on my "must‑return" list. And don't forget to give me a thumbs up or a heart if you like my reviews and follow me!

You literally have to wave them down for refills, or remind for sauces, etc. one time it took 15 minutes from when we asked for a check to get the bill. Then another 10 for them to pick it up, so we got up and took it to the front register. Ordering takeout is even worse. They hand you a receipt to sign and tip them for...well I don't know why they expect a tip. Every visit I ask for several types of sauces and or utensils, they are ALWAYS skimping out. If I order 3 entrees and I ask for hot sauce, I should be given enough hot sauce for my order. Skinny short haired lady hands me 3 ketchup size packets for 3 entrees max. The final straw was on a takeout order when I see the typical "3 sauces for 3 entrees" and I ask as usual for more sauces, the lady has the audacity to give me 1 more and then turns around not saying bye. I go to my car and per usual they forget all utensils. I go back in and the lady is visibly mad I'm back, I ask for utensils and she gives me 2 (bro I always order 3 entrees, it's for 3 people). I ask for one more and she scoffs but gives me the third. Then says "do you need anything else?" Yes ma'am, I need you to learn customer service if you're front of house. Every time I come in I'm angered by her attitude and service. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

But honestly, the wait wasn't bad at all--and the second the food hit the table, any wait was completely forgotten. We were blown away by how delicious every single dish was! Here's what we ordered: * Chicken Satay: Super flavorful and cooked perfectly. * Drunken Noodles: Great kick of heat and rich, savory sauce. * Khao Soi Chicken: Absurdly good--deep, aromatic coconut curry broth with perfect noodle texture. * Fried Rice: Simple, classic, and done just right. * Banana Pudding: The ultimate sweet finish to the night! It was expensive, the wait was long, and the portions were surprisingly small. The Crying Tiger was nearly flavorless and looked more like a one-bite appetizer than a full dish. The mango sticky rice came with extremely sour mango, while the coconut sauce seemed to have forgotten it was supposed to taste like coconut. The Tom Yum pot was so tiny that I almost expected it to come with a magnifying glass. Other Thai restaurants usually serve at least twice as much. The service did not improve the experience. After we had already been seated for about five minutes, the servers asked us to move to another table because the seating had not been managed properly. Overall, Hanuman Thai Eatery was overhyped, overpriced, and not worth the long wait. I would give it negative five stars if Yelp allowed it.

The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Tom Yum with Shrimp - The shrimp were very firm and bouncy, and there was a good amount of vegetables. The soup was overly sweet from the first bite, though I did enjoy the sour finish afterward. It was just sweeter than I prefer. The spice level was accurate, and they definitely make it as spicy as they describe on the menu. Pad Thai - This was a complete miss for me. It lacked the signature smoky wok flavor and classic Pad Thai taste. Instead, it was just overly sweet, which wasn't to my liking. Black Pepper Fish - My favorite dish of the night. It reminded me of many Chinese-style house special fish dishes here in Orange County. The fish was lightly crispy and coated with a flavorful black pepper sauce. I would definitely order this again.
