We popped in for dinner on a Monday night. They only had take out orders and us. We had egg rolls that were hot and crunchy with a great sauce that wasn't to spicy. We also had gyozo. They were perfectly cooked. I had the emerald curry, spicy #7, cry not die. It could have been a bit spicier but it was great. I also traded bell pepper for bamboo shoots. The dish was interesting as it had a dash of sugar. We also had vegetarian chow mein. Really good. ALso spicy basil beef. For a #2 it was a little hot. All in all we had delicious dinner. Gotta Love Thai Fix Do you ever want to just experience a culture? Thai Fix is the perfect place for learning about culture. It's located in Ladera Ranch on Crown Valley Parkway. When arriving at this restaurant you can tell it's smaller than other restaurants with around 14 booths alongside the wall. You will notice that there's only a few people there or none at all. Upon entering you will immediately be greeted with an employee with a huge smile happy to sit you down. When sitting down you hear a delightful melody of the music they are playing. Somehow whenever I go, I love the music, it always satisfies my taste, or what I want to hear. I have been going to this restaurant for four years now. I have spent a few birthdays there celebrating. It's a good restaurant, and if you don't believe me look at the other reviews! This is an amazing place to indulge and experience another culture. Don't you want that for your children? The customers you do see are families, usually with kids, they have big smiles having a conversation about the food or their life. Thai Fix is the best Thai place in Ladera Ranch. When anyone goes into a Thai restaurant they will most likely order pad thai....and I do like the pad thai - which runs $14.45 on the menu, but i'm not prone to order it everytime. I have a few favorites but these will always top everything I order: fried rice with basil, Tam Ka, and their boba. My first favorite is the spicy fried rice with basil - at $14.50 for a big bowl. Truth be told I have only had this once. When I went recently I decided to give it a try, and that perfectly seasoned rice with a delicious sauce that has just enough spice. The rice will come with delicious flavorful chicken that will make your mouth water. The dish is always steaming hot with the delectable aroma of grilled chicken. It gets better! My other favorite will make this dish even better, the Tam Ka will blow your mind! The Tam Ka - for the big sharing bowl is $16.93. This dish is a coconut soup that is a little sweet and a little spicy, hitting the best of both worlds. The soup smells like fresh ripe sweet coconut. The broth is creamy and thick. The consistency, smooth. This soup can come with tofu, chicken, or shrimp. Although the soup is amazing on its own, putting a little dash or drizzle of this into your rice can make it more flavorful and delicious, giving it a little bit of a sweet taste but not overpowering the actual taste of the rice. The rice will also soak up the soup making the rice even more moist. My final most favorite food is not food at all. Going to a Thai restaurant I don't usually expect to order boba, it just never crosses my mind. But when I entered the last few times I went I saw a poster showing a big glass. Like a wine glass but thicker and way more gigantic. And in the glass is an ombre of different colors like blue, red, and dark brown on the bottom. When I ordered this boba it came out in only a minute. It was way bigger than I could have imagined, though it wasn't blue or red, it was orange on the top white in the middle and dark brown on the bottom. It soothes the child in me to mix those colors together to see what I get. The outcome is a nice light and gorgeous orangey brown. The boba is only $6 and when you order one you get one free! If you don't have a sweet tooth I would not recommend this item; but if you do this is a perfect thing to order to even out the savory food. It's a sweet taste not grainy but smooth and the perfect mix between thick and thin. The milk softens the tea ever so slightly giving it a light and fluffy taste. I got the one with chai tea but they also offer a fruit one. And when you're not blown away by the taste, boba hits you and it's even more delicious, with a chewy texture and a slightly sweet outside. With my favorite food there, Thai Fix is my top choice when in Ladera Ranch. If this restaurant does not appeal to you because you don't like spicy food, I have a solution. Thai Fix is the only restaurant I know that asks their customers what level of spice they would want, but it's not just mild or spicy, no. Thai Fix has you pick on a level from one to ten. If you do like spicy food then try and challenge yourself by picking ten, I promise you will not be able to eat the whole thing (the farthest I can go is 4). Thai Fix is the best Thai restaurant in Ladera Ranch by a long shot. Unfortunately Thai Fix does not have a slogan but if they did it would go like this. Came here for a late lunch on a weekend and it was empty, which is usually a bad sign, but we were pleasantly surprised. Tried the Emerald Curry with Shrimp and the Vegetable Pad Thai off the lunch menu. The Emerald Curry was well executed, with a good balance of spice from the green curry, and sweetness from the coconut, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. It came with rice, an egg roll, and a small salad, all of which were very good, except I didn't care for the dressing on the salad, but the ingredients were very fresh. The Pad Thai had great flavor, but the noodles were off. Maybe they were overcooked, I'm not sure. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely go back again. read more

The customer service at this place is amazing! Tonight was our first time eating Thai Fix. We ordered our food through DoorDash. The DoorDash guy did not deliver the correct order. I called the restaurant to see if my order happened to still be there and it was. They were trying to get ahold of me but DoorDash wouldn't give them my contact info so they were happy I called them direct. They were so apologetic (not even their fault) and said one of their employees would be delivering the food to us immediately. This was above and beyond anything I expected. Within 15 minutes the friendly Thai Fix employee was at our door with our order. Simply amazing! I will definitely be a recommending this place to people. AND the food was so yummy! I had made a DoorDash order for a pad Thai and a Thai iced tea. It was something I was looking forward to all week, and was so excited for my iced tea. This is my go to place for Thai food btw, never disappointed. I got my order delivered, and noticed there was no iced tea. So I left a little note on my DoorDash review about being disappointed with my lack of iced tea. I've tried a lot of different places for iced tea, but this in my opinion is the best. It's the only place I've been consistently ordering it from. 15 minutes later, the gentleman from the restaurant shows up with my iced to to personally deliver it and apologize for forgetting it in the order. It's not very often you have a business take such responsibility. It was so sweet of them to do that and they would have kept my business in either scenario, but the fact they went so above and beyond gives me a reason to sing their praises louder. We decided to try this place out and ordered out, my husband ordered his favorites and I decided to try my two regular Thai cravings: Tom kha soup and pad see ew. The Tom Kha soup was nice, good flavor and I chose a 2 on the heat scale. With the upcharge to order the shrimp from the chicken, I expected more than two little shrimp buried beneath the tomatoes in the soup. Really disappointing. The pad see ew was the most disappointing dish of the night. Despite the appearance of the photo, it was incredibly bland. The meat tasted charred but had no flavor, the noodles were colored but also blackened like the meat, without a hint of salt in the entire dish. The broccoli was cooked well and that was the only thing cooked well. For the prices we paid, I'd expected something on par with Diho Siam or Thai Bite but it wasn't even in the same league as the thai spot at the food court at the shops of Mission Viejo. Can't honestly review my husbands dishes because i didn't eat his food, but for the price we paid for this meal, it was a huge rip off. read more

Had Pad Thai, Curry, both withTofu, Spring rolls and samosas. Everything was fresh with just the right amount of spices. Not sure what the clear sauce with cucumbers was called, but it was amazing! The veggies were big with good size portions. The 1-10 spicy level was a nice touch. Picked up our order-it was ready and hot and correct. Great to have a new Thai place in the neighborhood. Only opened a few weeks ago. It wasn't too busy yet, so got seated right away. The yellow curry was a little too sweet. Might have been because we got it only level 3/10 spicy for the kids. I'm guessing regular is 5/10. When asked how spicy I replied "regular" but she suggested 3/10 for the kids. They also give only a small amount of jasmine rice for the curry. The pad thai was pretty good. Not soggy wet, just the right amount of vegetables and peanuts. The pad see ewe was a bit on the salty side as was the house fried rice. Not bad, but a little salty. The prices were decent and the service was quick. I had the luxury of being in the right place at the right time I guess today!! so I just dropped off my deposits at the bank and was hungry I knew the BBQ place was gone but wasn't sure about anything new popping up. I asked if he had orange chicken he said he did. he said it came with rice but I wanted like fried rice. He said thats an upgrade fee. I said that is okay with me! I also got a soda with my chicken and rice. the soda machine had stickers on it with the type of soda it was. I waited for the food there is 2 TV's up so I enjoyed some world news (eyeroll) after waiting maybe 10 minutes The Lovely Orange chicken came out, with the fried rice. I first ate the fried rice , the rice was good but what I really liked is that the pees and eggs stood out they didn't just blend into the rice. I then got into the orange chicken. I loved the crunch of the breading but the interior was mad chewy to me. the crunch was nice though. halfway through the meal I wasn't sure how to feel about the place. the tables the walls the kitchen and literally the soda machine are from the previous tenants! This was my first time trying Thai Fix, I ended up ordering Pad See Ew for takeout. I went on a weekday after work and was very pleased to see it took no more than 15 minutes to get my order. I was even more ecstatic to find a new place to order pad see ew! It was very good, the sauce was delicately balanced and flavored the noodles well. They were not bland. I also enjoyed the broccoli tossed in. The interior of the restaurant was also super clean and beautifully decorated, the candles made a very nice touch on the tables. I ordered coconut shrimps, green curry, satay chicken and hangover noodle. Coconut shrimp s tasted like Costco bought product. Green curry is wayyyyyy too sweat and the chicken with the curry is not marinated, so chicken is very plain even with such heavy curry sauce. And I found a hair in the green curry. Satay chicken did not marinate as well. Even with the satay sauce, it still taste like cardboard. Hangover noodle is surprisingly good. That was my first time as was craving for Thai food. We would never go there again for sure! Inside - when we first stepped inside, bad smell 'welcomed' us like some rotten eggs. I really wanted to like this place so much that I've gone to this place three times before writing this review just to be sure I wasn't being too picky or snobbish about my favorite cuisine. What got me excited the first time I got here was that they had Kaow Soi on the menu. This is Northern Thai noodles you can't find in most Thai restaurants. I ordered that I thought it was fabulous. It's not as good as my mom's recipe, but it did conjure up some warm childhood memories. Then I ordered the mango and sticky rice and it was incredibly bland. I've never had green sticky rice before and it didn't have a distinctive taste. It's normally not served that way. The second time I went there I ordered the spicy eggplant and it was just so-so. The eggplant was probably too young and was not tender at all, also it was not spicy, even when I said I wanted it that way. I was disappointed. After that I was going to write a review, but low and behold I got a Living Social email marketing this restaurant and enticed me with a $30 value for $15 voucher I thought to myself I'll give this place another try. I wish I hadn't. I ordered the samosa/curry puff and B.B.Q pork ribs. Thai curry puffs are typically served with a delicious flaky pastry crust with a curry based middle. My aunt makes this stuff and it's absolutely to die for. I can't describe the incredible pastry, you have to taste it for yourself (This place just should buy them from my aunt- she sells them to restaurants in Los Angeles!). I looked at it and they used pasta shells. It looked ugly and unappetizing. I tasted one and couldn't bring myself to eat any more. I felt bad, but this is my honest rating. My sister and I shared the pineapple fried rice and the Thai basil w chicken and mango sticky rice for dessert and everything was exceptional! I'm not sure these people have ever had Thai food before? They serve something that sort of looks like Thai food but what I had was nothing like Thai food. My girlfriend is Thai so I have had my share of Thai food and she is very particular about her Thai food. First thing she talks about is the balance sweet, sour and salty. They have mastered the sweet as the pad Thai was swimming in a very sweet sauce. In fact they love d the sweet so much they tripled it and tossed out the sour and salty. To say the sugary sauce was overwhelming is an understatement. I also got tom kha gai soup which resembled The flavors of tapioca pudding much more. Again very sweet! The other issue is tom Kha gai doesn't have chunks of tomatoes or giant slices of onion. Thai food typically has things that are native to the region. The mushrooms are always a tell... typically in California they use Cremini that is the clue it's not authentic Thai. In authentic Tom Kha Gai they use straw or oyster mushrooms, very different. It's a simple recipe galanga root, keffir lime leaves, lemon grass, coconut milk, straw mushroom, chicken, fish sauce, light sugar, lime, Thai chilies. This was their rendition of Thai food and everyone has their own taste. What I would suggest though is that perhaps they consider opening a candy store? read more

Net: Skip this place and go to M.V. where you can find much better quality. Pros: We had a Local Flavor coupon, clean and nicely decorated. Very nice wait staff. Cons: Overpriced, undercooked, under seasoned and dinner portions are lunch size. We ordered three entrees and the Crab Rangoons and a Thai Iced Tea with Boba. Crab Rangoons came still frozen inside, sent them back and got a new order that while they were fully cooked inside they were overcooked on the outside. (Perhaps they should thaw them before dinner rush so they're not burning them) Entree 1: Crying Tiger was undercooked and not seasoned Entree 2: Spicy Basil Chicken (heat level 7) had no heat, lacked flavor and if measured would fit into a 1C measuring cup, served with 1C white rice. Entree 3: Spicy Basil Chicken (heat level 3) had more flavor AND heat than mine (#2) same portion size. Thai Tea with Boba: Great Flavor but overpriced for the amount you get (less than 8oz due to filling entire cup with ice). I don't normally leave poor reviews and the food wasn't horrible but what did it was the black lettuce in our spring rolls. (The photos are two separate orders.) It was shriveled and old, not sure how long the lettuce had been sitting there before it was finally used in this dish. Thought maybe it was a piece on the outside that was sitting next to something hot until I found myself picking it out throughout the whole thing. The rest of the food wasn't awful, like I said, but it certainly wasn't great. Our go-to Thai restaurant was closed today so we decided to try a new place and we will likely not be coming back. We ordered yellow curry and pineapple fried rice and neither were very flavorful. We also ordered the crying tiger and the meat tasted as if it was not marinated. I wouldn't have left a negative review over just those dishes, but like I said, the black lettuce pushed it over the edge. I never liked Thai food until I came here !! Penang Curry Shrimp was amazing they were very accommodating to switch my vegetables to mushrooms, eggplant, And bamboo shoots. I don't like Bell peppers because I can't digest them and the accommodated me immediately from the first time and every single time I've been here since. They don't add extra charges the service is amazing and I would never go anywhere else for Thai food. We drive from San Clemente all the way to Ladera to come here.
