    Thai Basil Stir-Fry

This restaurant was steadily busy at dinner hour. We dined inside. Order and pay counter, then self seat in the open spacious dining room. Self serve complimentary soup with entree. Staff is friendly and helpful. Drive through available. Delicious. Competitive prices for portions. Their salad dressing is the best!!

Pad Thai I threw away! Tired of high priced junk.

Food was soooooo dry and tasteless. When I got home to eat it, the noodles had melded together and all stuck in the mold it was served in. Absolutely 0 taste except for the lemon I squeezed on it. Very little chicken. I won't be back. Threw it away... what a waste of money.

The highly anticipated opening of Thai Express, by Simply Thai is happening today, 04/21/22!! I arrived at 11:30 AM, 30 minutes after they opened and there was already a line for indoor dining out the door and a drive-through line wrapped around the building. I'm so happy for them! Initially I ordered the Thai avocado salad and the Penang curry, but when I asked about peanuts I found out that there is peanut butter in the ginger dressing on the salad and in the base of the Penang curry (and Massaman curry). So, I got the salad without dressing and ordered the mango curry with shrimp. The mango curry with shrimp is both sweet and spicy and absolutely jampacked with shrimp & fresh, perfectly cooked veggies. Broccoli, green pepper, green beans, bean sprouts & mango chunks and served with jasmine rice. I snarfed the regular order for lunch - they also offer a larger size. I ordered a Thai iced green tea, and it was a nice balance between the grassiness of the green tea and the sweetness of the condensed milk. It was not overly sweet to my relief. Don't forget to ask for a tea stamp card. After 10 stamps you get a free Thai tea! The interior of the restaurant is modern black & white with dark higher end flooring and open feeling with windows on all sides. They have a small station in the corner to refill your water and grab some spicy sauce, extra napkins and utensils. We are going back tonight and I will update this review later gator!

I grew up in Springfield eating cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken here. After moving to Dallas/ Fort Worth I placed an order for sweet and sour chicken and was shocked at the difference so I simply didn't order it at all. "Springfield style" is for real and I definitely prefer it. I picked dinner so I selected Thai Express and ordered for carryout. I noticed and appreciated how clean it is inside. We ordered cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken and both were delicious but we felt the cashew was best but wished for more sauce. Now the sweet and sour chicken had a generous amount and it's quite tangy. Thai Express serves it with jasmine rice so we were all somewhat disappointed as we prefer all the flavors of fried rice. Thai Express is quite good. Chinese restaurant up next. Stay tuned.

This was my first time trying Thai Express and it did not disappoint. We went for during their big Cashew Chicken sale and it was packed! Despite the restaurant being so busy and the staff were all so kind, patient, and friendly. The orders were taking a little while, as we expected it would during the big sale. Then they brought out bowls of free soup to people waiting for food! It was amazing, it seems like a small gesture but we were so impressed and really contributed to the experience. The soup was SO good, one of the best soups I've ever had! Then the food came out shortly after and it was just as delicious as it looks. The Thai tea looked too good to not try, so we got one on our way out and it was awesome. Overall, amazing experience at Thai Express and I cannot wait to go back to try some of the other dishes on their menu!

    Drunken noodles with chicken

The ordering and service through the drive thru was great, the food itself was meh. I usually have their cashew chicken bowl and egg rolls which are both fabulous. I decided to finally try the drunken noodles and the chicken was really dry, the noodles were big flat gummed up together and hard to eat with chopsticks which I usually don't have problems eating anything with chopsticks. It wasn't terrible but there was random eggshells in the food that I didn't see and once I bit into it, it just shattered into what felt like a thousand pieces in my mouth. Ruined the rest of the meal for me as I was trying to get eggshell out of every crevice of my mouth. Had egg roll before the noodle dish and again wonderful egg roll but that noodle dish left so much to be desired.

Super cute place. Everyone was very very nice. There's a deal you can get two apps and two entrees for $25 or something. We did that and it was totally worth it. There's enough food to last two meals! Portions are ginormous. Hawaiian fried rice tasted amazing. Pad Thai was not as good but still tasted wonderful. They also have outside seating which is great. This place gets pretty crowded, as it's very popular. But really nice. Enjoyed it here!

Thai Express has been a favorite in my household since I was a kid. My mom was good friends with the owner Patrick Sr, and I grew up folding napkins with Patrick Jr when we were kids. Thai Express will forever be my favorite Thai food in this universe. Recently under went a new and updated location, menu, and staff, Thai Express still does not disappoint. The best fried spring rolls, and fresh if that's you're thing too. The best chicken and rice soup-that's free might I add. And the best, simple, full or flavored, Thai menu in the Springfield area. Every time I go, I have to order their peanut chicken. The chicken is fried perfectly, covered in a homemade peanut sauce, served with jasmine rice. It NEVER disappoints. I mean I have never not had a good batch. I grew up on that stuff. Pair that with their noodles, curry, whatever you like and you've got the best meal in town. Thai Express is my comfort food. I love it. I love the family that runs it and what they stand for too.

Last night was our first time back since they relocated to VIB from their old food truck location…read more I ordered the drunken noodles with grilled tofu, which I don't think I'd tried before. Wow, best meal I've had out in a while. The lowest heat option had just a little burn but not lingering, sauce was flavorful and umami without being too salty or overpowering the other flavors, noodles well cooked (al dente), tofu was firm with a nice chargrilled flavor (you could tell it was actually grilled), and there were some nice fresh additions like broccoli florets, shredded carrots, cilantro (and maybe mint?), plus lime slices. The single portion was huge, enough for two meals easily, and a steal at less than 10 bucks. My husband got a (huge!) burrito with chicken, mojo sauce, and fresh guacamole and enjoyed his as well. They have local beers and kombucha on tap, and some nice looking homemade desserts. Atmosphere was pleasant, modern hotel lobby, quiet, with nice large windows. The lady at the counter was very friendly and smiling the whole time she interacted with us. Food came out fast but it was clear they cooked it to order. Eating my leftover noodles for lunch and they're still on point next day and after being nuked XD All around great experience. We'll be back!

We love Asian fusion, so we were excited to try this. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken…read moreand my husband ordered the Thai Basil chicken, heat level 4. They must have made mine with the heat, because it was so spicy that my eyes and nose ran. They just threw some shredded chicken on top that was seasoned to be taco meat... not kidding, it tasted like chili powder, cumin and crushed red pepper. So I had spicy chicken taco meat on top of super hot Asian-flavored noodles. (The flavor of the noodles was great, without the spice and taco seasoning, hence the second star). The Thai basil chicken was bland, flavorless, and dry. Felt like the chicken had been fried awhile go, then reheated. There was about one basil leaf shredded on top. I had to give my spicy taco chicken to my husband who at it with the plain rice, while I ate his "basil" chicken with my noodles. The presentation was beautiful, though (pic taken after I stirred up the noodles). Both plates looked amazing, but the flavors didn't live up to their looks. Needless to say we won't be returning.

I've not ever had Thai food before so, I was excited to try out a new cuisine. I'm not entirely…read moresure that I really scratched the surface of Thai food with my one meal but, for anyone looking a great, authentic meal, this looks like it may be the place! The first thing I noticed was the sign on the outside that said they were soon going to be closed for 3 weeks for a family vacation. That excited me, knowing now that I was walking into a family owned business. What you walk into is a small, but cozy, dining area - the sign on the wall says they can fit 44 people in there. We had a table reserved and thusly, did not have to wait. Throughout the dinner, I did notice customers waiting for both a table and for takeout and I'll say, it's worth the wait! We were served by a sweet lady, of whose name I cannot remember. She was very attentive to our group of 8 guests. We ordered 3 different appetizers: Veggie Spring Rolls, Steamed Dumplings and the Money Bags. I tried the Spring Rolls and Money Bags and though I wasn't the biggest fan, everyone else at the table enjoyed them (I likely would have enjoyed the Chicken Spring Rolls more!). Me not being the biggest fan reflects more on my pickiness than the quality of them as, like mentioned, everyone else really enjoyed them all. For my entree, I ordered from "Grandpa's Favorite Chicken" from the "Chef Special" category. My reasoning behind this order, of which no one else at my table considered was as follows: 1, it's chicken with a sweet and sour sauce! 2, it's on the "Chef Special" category which though it didn't have a description, I assumed meant that it's something the Chefs enjoy making. 3, it was starred on the menu which means that they recommend it - it was a great recommendation. My order came out in approx. 10-15 minutes with a side of white rice that I added on. The picture I have is after everyone at the table picked off a piece of chicken because of how delicious it looked. The portions were great, enough for two people that aren't starving. There was plenty of sauce - of which was very flavorful. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice did a great job at soaking up some of the extra sauce that was in the bottom of the plate. Overall, this meal was delicious! I would highly recommend to both locals who can go and try multiple different meals there and anyone who is just stopping through town. You won't be disappointed!
