I come here about 3 times a month. It's my favorite Thai restaurant ever! I CRAVE the papaya salad. My go to order is The Green Curry w/ either chicken or prawns and the Papaya Salad spicy they are friendly and the food is amazing. 10/10 recommend.

    Not War WonTon soup
    Angela D.

I don't know what happened, but they changed yet "war WonTon" soup to chicken, no veggies, only chicken possibley soup I love this place but when I called they said "that's how we have always made it" Ummmm, negatory Won't be going back

BBQ steamed salmon in banana leaf. The fresh herbs mixed in create a delicious flavor.

BEST DRUNKEN NOODLES EVER. A gem in Ukiah! You know this place is legitimate by the pictures of the beloved king of Thailand on the walls. The decor is authentic and the atmosphere is peaceful. When you walk in the delicious smells immediately welcome you. The waitstaff is always attentive and welcoming. But the food, for Ukiah? Is incredible. So is the price point. We just moved out of town and went here to have our last dinner in the area. It will be sorely missed. While some curries can be a bit more thick on certain days, the flavor is always delicious. The ingredients are fresh and often steamed. As first mentioned, the drunken noodles here are THE BEST. I've eaten at soooo many Thai places not just here but in Thailand too and this place makes it as close to the real thing as you can get stateside. Other places make the sauce too sweet but Thai Dish nails it every time. Yum, I'm craving it right now! Haha. Other dishes we love are their yellow, red, green curries typically ordered with either prawns, tofu or chicken (you can also add as many proteins as you like if that's how you get down). The BBQ salmon in banana leaf is a staple. Incredible flavor. Summer rolls (the fresh not deep fried ones) with peanut sauce, omg. Killer. The Thai Chicken noodle soup, best damn soup on a rainy day. I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. And this place for some reason does not get the love or hype it should be. Don't be fooled by other Thai spots in town, this is the place you want to go. Why go to an inflated restaurant and pay $45 for a poorly cooked steak when you could come here and get twice the amount of food and flavor? Just sayin. Can't wait to have an excuse to come back.

    Coconut Soup
    Shelly S.

Came in for a second time for lunch while in town because the first time so fantastic. We decided to do a three course lunch. The egg rolls were good but lacked in cabbage and carrots, which act as a bed for for the flat egg rolls. My war wonton soup was good but needed more seasoning of some sort as it was bland for a base broth. I also had gristle in my potsticker which they use instead of wontons. So, it's more of a potsticker soup rather than a war wonton traditionally known in the Chinese food world. There was also no other meats and the only veggies were carrots and bok choy. My husband's coconut soup was delicious. It had an array of veggies and his meat choice was chicken. The heat of the broth was about a medium he said. He even tipped the bowl to his mouth to finish the broth. The fried banana and ice cream was pretty yummy on some bites but one of the slices of banana was not sweet whatsoever and was more like a plantain taste than it was a banana. We had two different types of curries the last time that we were in and they were both out of this world. We will go back and I will do another review of the third visit to be fair and hope for a five star rating.

    Mango with sticky rice
    Avinash S.

A decent place for Thai food in this part of the country. We were looking for a change and found this place. They have a beautiful patio for outdoor dining. Loved the papaya salad the best, followed by the drunken noodles. Can stay away from the green curry and sticky rice with mango. With the exception that the mangoes they served us were delicious, skipped the sticky rice and cleaned up the mangoes.

Jyun Kang Vegetarian - A Meal That Quietly Resets You…read more Some meals speak in flavor. This one speaks in quiet. Jyun Kang is not modern plant-based cuisine. It isn't creative, trendy, or reinvented. This is the kind of vegetarian cooking that comes from older traditions - simple, steady, and designed to calm you more than impress you. And maybe that's why the dining room is always full. White, Black, Indian, Asian - everyone sits at the same wooden tables, eating the same humble dishes with an ease that feels rare these days. The Food: Old-School, Temple-Style, and Intentionally Quiet Nothing here tries to stand out. The dishes are: * lightly seasoned * clean and balanced * tofu, vegetables, and wheat gluten prepared the way temple kitchens have done for decades * no heavy oil, no aggressive spices, no sharp flavors It's not meant to overwhelm you. It's meant to lower the noise inside you. In a strange way, the quietness is the flavor. This is the type of meal where your nervous system shifts down a gear without you realizing it. The Atmosphere: A Dining Room Wrapped in Calm Steps away from the main courtyard of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the restaurant feels like an extension of the grounds themselves. Light streams in softly. People speak gently. Even the clinking of dishes feels slower, more deliberate. Eating here isn't just eating - it's entering a different pace of life. A White Peacock After Lunch After the meal, a white peacock walked across the courtyard - unhurried, soft-footed, almost unreal in how quietly it moved. White peacocks are often considered auspicious, but even without any symbolism, the moment felt grounding - a small, unexpected pause that matched the tone of the meal. Not many restaurants offer you that. The Walk Afterward Part of the experience is what happens once you step outside: * walking past tall trees * seeing peacocks on rooftops * watching families stroll through the open grounds * letting your mind cool in the same way your body just did This isn't a restaurant visit. It's a reset. Verdict: A Place That Nourishes More Than Hunger Jyun Kang serves exactly what it intends to serve: pure, old-style temple vegetarian food, quietly and consistently. It won't dazzle you, but it will steady you. And sometimes, that is worth more than flavor. If you want boldness, go elsewhere. If you want a meal that lowers the volume of your day - come here.
