I have ordered from here before because it's the only Thai place around the area. I had high hopes since it was halal also but the food is so sub par and pricy for what you get. The previous times were mediocre but acceptable I guess which is why I give 2 stars here. This time I ordered and the food looked terrible. Half the box was empty and the contents were swimming in watery soup which is supposed to be the sauce. The chicken tasted inedible and bland with a weird raw-ish smell. Honestly you can get such a better deal with better quality in even the most expensive parts of Manhattan. It takes a lot to make me dissatisfied with food but this was truly disappointing. I enjoy going to Thai Cuisine, they have always been friendly with me and their food is very good! I prefer to pick-up (pre-COVID19) only because delivery takes a long time, but if you pick up or dine in the food is ready between 15-20mins. From the appetizers I love the Curry Puffs! Food the second time around: The food itself is really good! I ordered the drunken noodles with vegetables and I'd definitely order from here again. The noodles weren't dry and I got a fair amount of vegetables. They serve good portions. I got the medium spice level and it was definitely spicy and flavorful. If you're sensitive to spice, medium might be more than enough :) Customer service: The food was ready for pickup within the time frame I was given, which was around 40 minutes. I didn't know that most of their main dishes include eggs, and eggs wasn't listed in the drunken noodles ingredients. I looked at the food once I got home and I saw eggs in the dish. I called to see if I could either get a refund or get the dish made again without the eggs. (Here's a good time to share I'm vegan, which is why the egg thing is a big deal to me.) I was spoken to with an attitude and was given the explanation that all of their main dishes include eggs, even though that isn't clearly explained on their menu. The man I spoke to was aggravated and was adamant about that at first and said the fact that my dish has eggs in it wasn't their fault. I explained that I've never ordered there before and there was no indication of that on their menu, and because of that I had no idea I had to specify about not having eggs. Had he not proposed the solution he did, this would have been a one star review. But, after hearing my points (and my willingness to raise my voice back just a bit), he said he would remake it without eggs and would deliver it free of charge. The delivery part was huge because I ordered for pick up. He delivered it to my location after the restaurant closed for the night, and he got here incredibly fast. I thought this was enough to make up for the attitude I was met with, and the meal was made very well. So, despite the unwillingness to hear me out at first, my issue was resolved swiftly. This was pretty good Thai! We ordered it online for pickup. Yelp said it would be ready in 60-75 minutes. We were obviously starving and not wanting to wait. We drive down and by the time we got there, about fifteen minutes later the food was ready. They were much faster than expected but it might have sucked if we waited the whole time as the food would been cold. Overall the food was good. I WILL NEVER MAKE THE MISTAKE TO IGNORE REVIEWS AGAIN!! I live in the Soundview part of the Bronx and was in the mood for some Thai food. I decided to try this restaurant because it was on Seamless and I have a really bad habit of ignoring reviews. I read the reviews on Seamless and saw traces of all the things I detest in the consumer experience when it comes to Restaurants but I decided to place my order anyway. I placed the order at 8:38p and ETA was 9:20pm. At 10pm, I decided it was a good enough time to call and find out why the food was 30m behind schedule. Seamless rep told me that they're behind and food it already out for delivery and will be arrive in 10 minutes. When they offered 10% off, I explained that I paid in cash and to make sure that the owners knew I was going to take it off the balance I would give the delivery person. They didn't like that. 10:25pm, I called Seamless and the Restaurant to find out where my food was. It turns out that the food was an hour late and while the delivery man was standing there with my food, I was on the phone with the Manager of the restaurant who argued with me for 10 minutes telling me that he is going to have to pay seamless 20% so he wants to pay for the food. I told him the food should be free at this point but I'll pay 50%. He kept arguing saying that I have to understand that he has to pay seamless 20% and how do I expect him to run a business if I don't pay for late food and horrible customer service. I explained that it was 1030p and it was too late for me to call another restaurant and get another meal delivered. I asked him if he was hoping that customers wouldn't hold his establishment accountable for poor, deplorable service. In the end, he exclaimed that I could do whatever I wanted - pay or not pay - and then hung up. I paid the driver 60% of the cost of the meal and apologized to him. When they first opened their ingredients were fresh and the food tasted amazing. All the vegetables they used retained their colors and crisp. Everything was seasoned as expected. In my last two orders I noticed my a decernible change in the quality of food. All their pastas are always over boiled. The wide noodles in drunkman noodles clumped together. Their pad Thai noodles were also too boiled and I think seasoned with ketchup. They also over boil all vegetables and over lime the pad Thai. Literally I think they boiled a lime with the roce noodles Im the pad Thai and the butter of the rind ruined a good chunk of the meal. The whole meal was gross, soggy, mushy and red from ketchup. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I'm upset I spent money for food I could have prepared better at home. Their coconut rice and mango used to also be an amazing desert. So I read some bad reviews, but I was in dire need of some Thai food and this was the only option in my area and I took the risk. Thankfully, it was delicious! I eat very spicy and am vegetarian, and the food was made to my liking. I had the vegan avocado Red curry and some crispy bean curd and spring rolls on the side. Spring rolls were so-so, crispy tofu is hard to get wrong so that was good, but the curry was phenomenal! I got a few sides of peanut sauce which was also delicious, as was their Thai coffee. Price-wise it's pretty decent (my bill was $35 with delivery charge included). Appetizers and peanut sauce cups were slightly over-priced, but main entree and Thai coffee were well-priced. The worst Thai food and service I have ever experienced. After being over 40 minutes late, the delivery guy did not even care to apologize. After attempting to call the restaurant for cancellation and reimbursement, my phone was never answered as I inquired about the food a few moments before. Delivery was quick and efficient, the food was still hot when it arrived. I got the roti canal and the drunken noodles. The noodles were decent, but who cares because the roti canal was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. The massaman curry with the roti bread...I'm crying a little on the inside that I don't live 4 hours away from this place. I ordered food last night, shrimp pad Thai and shrimp chicken drunken noodles and some egg rolls. I'm not sure if it's me but both dishes tasted the same with out any real flavor or spice.
