Thai basil service was amazing. The server was attentive and never let my water go down. I love that kind of service because they really want you to enjoy your meal and want for nothing. The Thai coffee and tea were perfectly balanced in terms of sweet and caffeinated. The chicken basil stir fry had a healthy portion of chicken and wasn't just bogged down with onions. I loved that!! The flavors of this were intense in the right dosage and the sauce from the chicken was so rich I wanted to just drink it! But for the sake of being poised and proper I just poured it on my rice. The dumplings and the sauce were also delicious!! The prices were more than fair for the portions you got, I still had plenty for leftovers. I would recommend Thai basil to anyone wanting a cozy and even romantic setting for a date night or a yummy affordable spot for lunch with friends and family.

First, the food is excellent, the staff is curteous and it is well decorated. The menu is HUGE! The name in front of the restaurant includds "brewery" but they only have 4 beers, which includes a good IPA. I tried a Tamp Roll which I liked! Try it, it is worth it!

Green chicken curry and house egg rolls

I had the egg roll appetizer and Green Chicken Curry. Both were outstanding! I could make an entire meal out of the egg rolls. This was some of the Thai I've had coast-to-coast. My only complaint was the service. I saw her just 3 times. She disappeared for a while, and there were only 2 customers

My friends recommended this place to me and it was delicious! Great service which was friendly and the food was outstanding. Huge portions for the price so pretty much get two meals for price of one. Highly recommend. One of the best thai meals I've had!

Pad Thai

Ordered Pad Thai from door dash. Food was fresh, properly cooked and large portion. However, this was not Pad Thai. I immediately tasted spicy ketchup. This was more like Steak 'n Shake ketchup chili sauce (without beans) with peanut crumbles. It was edible if you like spicy ketchup sauce. Thumbs down!

Spicy beef salad

Very small Thai restaurant which is very popular with the locals in the area. Service is fabulous. The food was super fresh. We started with hand rolls and fried chicken wings with chili sauce. The hand rolls were stuffed with eel and a very nice portion. The wings were fresh out of the fryer and the chili sauce made a nice touch to the hot wing. Tuna roll had a large portion of sushi in each roll and was very fresh. The poke bowl was packed solid with fresh sushi, edamame, seaweed salad, white rice, and salad. The beef salad Was very flavorful and large portion of beef however, the spicy sauce is a lot so if you don't like your lettuce swimming I would ask for it on side Parking is super tight but there is a dry cleaner next door that you can park at during dinner hours They take credit card They do a large take out business too We will definitely be back

Thai Basil is open for business! The food and service were fantastic. Please ask for Maddie (server). Generous portions, great quality and freshness. Full bar and very clean. Highly recommend.

Tom Kha Kai

It's been quite a while since we had last eaten here, like 10 years. They are located on the south side of East Bay Dr. just east of Belcher Rd. The interior is neat and tidy. It wasn't crowded on the Friday night we were there. For appetizers, we started with soup: the Tom Kha Kai and the Tom Yum with shrimp. The Tom Kha was too thin and flavorless. The Tom Yum was nice but a little heavy on the heat. We also ordered the Angel Wings and Som Tum (papaya salad). The Angel Wings were very tasty as was the papaya salad. Both were the high point of the meal. For entrées, we ordered the Duck Curry and the Pad Thai with chicken. The Duck dish had a Panang curry sauce that was flavorless and the duck was a very small over-cooked portion. However, the Pad Thai was great! The noodles were perfectly cooked and the dish had all the right flavors. As a heads-up, all dinners come with a complimentary literal cup of chicken and rice soup which was very good. We had a good meal however the standouts were the Angel Wings, Papaya Salad and the Pad Thai. For what we ordered, it was quite a pricey meal. The restaurant has a very small staff of one person but she was very friendly and attentive.

As having a very seasoned pallet and being a chef myself, I was blown away. Mom and pop feels up and down throughout the whole menu and experience. When I lived in Virginia if anyone has ever been to the Fairfax-Annandale area you know how heavily populated with AUTHENTIC Asian cuisine, as to where I have personally gotten some of my personal recipes from. As soon as I tasted the food I was brought back to authentic cuisine I could feel the love and warmth in every bite. Tom kha was the best I ever had the balance of flavor was beautifully executed! Basil fried rice...... the rice sauce is to die for!! I finished it by myself before the rest of my family could try it! Great balance of flavors and it never felt "dry" like most of your fried rice usually tastes. Panag curry was average in flavor hit all the marks of your typical curries will probably try the amazing on my next visit. We also had the fresh rolls sweet and sour was average but peanut sauce was amazing feels home made but was my favorite. Pad Thai was DESTROYED by my wife before I could even try it but by the remnants on her plate I was intrigued. The Thai tea was by far one of the best I've had in this area I had a sip before my wife finished it before we were half way home. Overall I will be back! 10/10

What a beautiful and delicious experience we had at Ocean Hai. It's a level of elegance we wanted…read more The overall look from the entrance, the food, and the gorgeous patio is a must add to your list when in Clearwater! It was crazy hot so we couldn't sit on the patio but at sunset it was still a stunning view. Kalby was an absolute pleasure to be serviced by. She was attentive and used her talents to help recommend entrees from the menu. Our starter was the bulgogi skewers which were perfectly balanced with sweet and Korean spice. The edamame was our least favorite dish. I did discuss this with kalby and the manager. The idea was there but poor execution. The gochujang sea salt...the gochujang just wasn't there and once you ate that top layer all you got was oily edamame, so much oil...you wouldn't need chapstick for the rest of the day. Then wins though came from the cocktails. Ours were delicious and my old fashion was spot on. Also in the win was the sunset sushi, beautiful and fantastic, along with Korean crispy chicken. The peanut sauce was the perfect balance to that meal. Now...what we also loved that should be permanently on the menu was the mochi. We had 4 of them and they were wonderful! Everyone should be able to experience these. But ocean hai on your list as a must try place for sure.

We had the nicest table right on the patio overlooking the beach and it was fantastic. Our server was pleasant when she was around, but it seemed like she went missing for long periods of time and always right when we seemed to need something. Service was generally slow and the restaurant wasn't super busy when we were there. Food was mediocre at best. We started with the bulgogi beef skewers and the ahi tuna apps. The skewers were sort of dry and chewy...and I don't know that they tasted like bolgogi. The tuna tartar app tasted heavily of lime and nothing else and the cuts on the tuna were pretty messy and made it a bit difficult to eat. The grouper entree was okay, but the piece of fish I got looked like a baseball in that it was thick and sort of round? It made it just kind of tough and overcooked on the outside and a little undercooked on the inside. The chicken fried rice was good, but nothing to write home about.
