You can tell that the team cooks and serves with so much love and passion for what they do. I'm a believer that this helps make the food taste even better ;) From the outside, Chili Thai can be easily missed since it's in a little strip off of St. Joseph with other businesses packed together. There isn't room to really sit and eat there, but there is room to stand to pick up your order. Parking is a bit tight and limited since it's shared with the other businesses, so be patient because this place is definitely worth the wait. Even walking by, you can smell the aromas coming out of this gem and they can make anyone drool! I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp ($16.95) at a medium spiciness level. It was really tasty but a little too hot for my liking. It was my first time trying medium instead of mild though with this dish, so now I know to go with mild like I usually do. I also got an order of Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp and Peanut Sauce ($9.95). The order comes with two rolls. They were also delicious and I absolutely love their peanut sauce. Chili Thai is on the pricier side for Thai take out, but to me it's worth it because you can tell that everything is high quality and the dishes are of good size. I definitely recommend checking them out next time you're in Orleans!

I would rank it on par with food court Thai food, like Thai Express in terms of taste, but the prices were higher than at food courts. This location is takeout and delivery only. Absolutely no place to sit and eat. Their full service restaurant is on St. Joseph. The Thai Dinner for 4 consisted of 8 spring rolls, 10 gyoza, chicken pad thai, chicken coconut curry, basil beef, 2 steamed rice, and fortune cookies, for $66.95, plus tax. When you pick up and your order exceeds $50 before taxes you get your choice of California rolls, fried rice or potstickers for free. I chose the California rolls. The spring rolls were hot and crispy and had a very strong five spice aroma to it. They were vegetarian with cabbage, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, and vermicelli noodles. These were actually better than typical food court spring rolls. The gyoza were very good. They were crispy on the outside and filled with pork and cabbage. The chicken pad thai was really bland and plain. It was mostly noodles, with a few slices of chicken. There were minimal vegetables, only a few slices of celery, onions and some beans sprouts. The menu said it contained carrots, but I didn't see or taste any. I was disappointed with this dish :( The chicken coconut curry had more flavour, but had way too many onions in my opinion. It also had broccoli, zucchini, celery, carrots, and mushrooms. It was a tiny bit spicy. The basil beef also had too many onions in my opinion. It had the exact same vegetables as the curry dish. The sauce was a bit spicier than the curry. The rice was good, not too mushy nor too dry. The free California rolls were ok. The avocado and cucumbers tasted fresh. They tasted better than grocery store sushi like at Loblaws, but not as good as fast food sushi like Sushi Shop or Sushi Go, at least that is my opinion. I called in my order and was told it would take an hour. Their estimate was accurate, as they were just finishing up my order when I arrived an hour later. Service was courteous. The restaurant is in the Millennium Plaza at Trim and Innes. It's right next to Yalla Yalla, and in the same plaza as Sobeys and CIBC Bank. Lots of free parking.

Seriously...seriously....seriously...as good as it gets!…read more Sushi was super fresh and hella tasty! Ordered the California roll and avocado roll. The California roll had mayo inside the roll which made it more melt in your mouth goodness. Avocado roll was buttery and delicious! Rice was perfectly seasoned and super fresh! They weren't stingy with the avocado in the rolls either! Also ordered hot and sour soup, almond guy ding, crispy beef (for the hubby), spring roll (which thankfully DID NOT taste like deep fryer oil...it was AH-MAZING!) , egg rolls and a won ton soup. Everything came nicely packed, and the delivery was pretty quick, especially when they noted to us that they were super busy and delivery might take a bit longer. Seriously, with this restaurant having such a diverse and yummy menu, I am not even going to waste my time ordering from other asian restaurants anymore when this place seriously hits the spot every time.

I got takeout from Thai Bite and it was delicious…read more I ordered 4 dishes for my parents and I and we had lots of leftovers. I got the Beef Pad Thai ($13.99) Beef Pad Kee Mao ($13.99), Beef Panang Curry ($14.99), and Chicken Cashew Stir-fry ($13.99). The Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but still good. I like that it wasn't loaded with bean sprouts like at some places. There was a good amount of beef in it. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) were delicious. Really spicy too. It had green beans, bamboo shoots, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms and beef. The beef was tender. This dish was much less oily than at most other places, so I really appreciated that. The cashew chicken was good. From the pictures online, I was expecting deep fried breaded chicken, but it was just regular pan-fried chicken without breading. It was tasty, and healthier that way I guess, just different from what I was expecting, but no complaints here. It came with lots of onions, some carrots and bell peppers. This dish is mild, not spicy at all. The Beef Panang Curry was rich and creamy. This is my father's favourite Thai dish and he loved it. He saved the leftover sauce and said he was going to dip bread into it and eat bread soaked in the curry sauce, lol. I enjoyed it too. It was very fragrant. It had beef, bell peppers and peanuts in it. Portions were a good size. Everything was tasty. Takeout containers are plastic and the lids were mildly warped from the heat. The restaurant is takeout and delivery only. There is no space to dine in. It's where Soul Stone Express used to be. It's in the Millennium Park Plaza. Lots of free parking.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Fast food Thai food in Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre. Ok for what it is…read more The Long Version: My parents love this Thai Express, but I suspect it's because it's convenient for them because truth be told, I've been to other locations that I like better. My parents always get the chicken Pad Thai ($14.69) and they add 6 shrimps for $5.15. They like this because the shrimp upgrade also upgrades the order from being served in a cardboard takeout box to a plastic bowl. The bowl portion is bigger and they get to reuse the plastic container, lol. For July 2025, Place d'Orleans was having this promotion where if you spend $25 or more at any one participating food court vendor after 5pm (Monday -Saturday) you get a $10 mall gift card. My parents were all over this deal. I had received some Thai Express coupons in the mail for buy one get one half-price, so the coupon plus the promotion made for a really good deal. So we ended up getting their usual order and for the second meal we got the same thing except beef instead of chicken (beef is $0.30 more than chicken). The fine print though is that add-ons don't count as part of the half price deal, so we essentially just got about $7.50 off even though with the shrimp add-on each bowl was close to $20. Anyway, that's a corporate thing, and has nothing to do with this specific location. The food itself was ok in my opinion, but was mostly noodles. I feel they were a bit stingier with the proteins than some other locations I've been to. The sauce was also a bit grittier than I like. Overall, it was ok for fast food, but I wasn't crazy about it. Service was satisfactory. We had to ask them for the receipt though in order to claim the gift card promotion at Guest Services. They also didn't ask if we needed cutlery. I've been to better locations but I've also been to worse locations, lol. So this one is middle of the road in my opinion. It's a convenient location though, in the mall food court. Lots of free parking available in the mall parking lot. Place d'Orleans is also a public transit hub. Review #137 (2025)

There were 5 of us, but they don't have a "Dinner for 5", so we got a "Dinner for 4" and added 2 additional dishes. Their "Dinner for 4" is $48.95 and includes 4 Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice, Honey Garlic Pork Ribs, Almond Guy Ding, General Tao's Chicken, Beef with Broccoli and 4 Fortune Cookies. We added Cantonese Noodles ($11.50) and Beef with Spicy Peanut Sauce ($10.25). The egg rolls were the closed-ended type and they were good. They were filled with pork, cabbage and onions. They were crispy. I liked the Chicken Fried Rice in that it was not oily like it is at most places. It also wasn't too salty and it had generous pieces of chicken in it. I'm not a huge fan of Honey Garlic Ribs, so take this comment for what it is, but I felt they were too sweet and too oily/fatty. The Almond Guy Ding had plenty of almonds in it as well as chicken, celery, broccoli, onions, baby corn, carrots, and mushrooms. It was good, albeit a little on the bland side in my opinion (but this is much better than too salty, which is the case at some other restaurants). I enjoyed the General Tao's Chicken. It had a nice spicy kick to it and the flavours were good. I just wished it was crispier. The Beef with Broccoli had lots of broccoli, but it also had lots of beef (which I appreciated). It also had onions and carrots. The ingredients were good, but I felt that it lacked flavour. Fortune cookies were good, not stale. I was somewhat disappointed with the Cantonese Noodles because the BBQ pork in it was so fatty. A few pieces were lean, but most were gristly :( I did like that it had a few good-sized shrimp in it though. I felt that the noodles were too soft and mushy and it was too wet with sauce. I didn't note any rancidity myself, but my mom said it tasted like it was fried in old oil that needs to be changed. She is much more sensitive to this kind of stuff than I am though. The noodles had chicken, BBQ pork, shrimp, onions celery, carrots, baby corn, broccoli, and mushrooms. The Beef with Spicy Peanut Sauce was not spicy at all :( It had a creamy appearance to it, but didn't taste all that peanuty to me either. It tasted similar to the Beef and Broccoli dish. It also had broccoli, but lots of celery too, and carrots, onions, mushrooms, and baby corn. Service was good. It was ready in the quoted amount of time, and when we arrived, it was all packaged and waiting for us. This place is takeout and delivery only. There is no place to eat in. Are you ever out at a random asian/thai/fusion and you order Pad Thai and you expect it to be good…read more Not Sweet. Spicy. Delicious. And then are extremely disappointed. Here's how I like my Pad Thai: Hot, Spicy, Not Sweet, Fresh China Thai does this for $7.52 plus taxes versus like $15-20 at a normal restaurant. I've been going to China Thai (since March 2016) and his previous restaurant Thai Go (At Westgate, link to Thai Go: https://www.yelp.ca/biz/thai-go-ottawa) for the last few years. In early 2016, he sold his Thai Go at Westgate and opened up China Thai at the Gloucester Center. The reason for the move? They will be demolishing Thai Go and Westgate next year, so he wanted to get out. This is street food, really the closest best Thai/China that we have. You can go to Thai Express, but there's always something off about it. Everything is measured to some franchise code, I want it real. I want it, I'm grabbing a bowl of this, and I don't measure anything. Also every time I come by, the owner is like, "Hey, great to see you. Pad Thai, Tofu, Medium Spicy". He actually remembered my order. This is the closest thing we have to Cheers, in a Thai restaurant. If you're looking for great Thai and bottom rock prices, drop by. I know he will be glad to have you, as I'm probably going here at least once every 2 weeks. Here's what I recommend, but have what you want: 1. Pad Thai - pretty much a stable - be a local and get it medium spicy 2. Pad See Ew - This is actually my favorite, I like it more than Pad Thai. Again get it medium spicy. 3. Singapore Noodles - I get this one with tofu, but yet again amazing - you guessed it medium spicy. 4. Tom Yum Soup - If you're in the mood for soup, this is one of the most declious soups ever - nice mix of spicy and sour. Delicious - again medium spicy. Anyone who says this place is not amazing - they need to go back to Montana's or East Side Mario's or any of the other "bland" franchises. Live a little and eat here, you taste buds will thank you.
