We stopped in mostly for a drink & to pass time. There's very few Friday's around now. I've never really been a fan of the food but they typically have decent priced good drinks. It was busy when we went but we were able to get a table fairly quickly. We had a child with us who wanted food so he ordered a chicken tender kids meal & that was fine. I ordered the Tito's Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini. The drink was good. I did notice that they don't list the prices of the drinks anymore. They were a bit more but wasn't too bad. Service was overall okay. Felt like staff were overworked and rushing all over the place. A bit chaotic. I feel overall the drinks won't bring me back as I do prefer places I can enjoy the drink, food and ambience as a whole experience regardless of prices. read more

It's apparently been some years since I've set foot in a TGI's, enough for the menu to have changed significantly. Shame, since I did have menu favorites I'd looked forward to having again. It seems that their brand affiliation with Jack Daniel's has ended as well, for an idea of how many years it's been since I last visited. The food was unfortunately not as great as before. Additionally, I'd asked for bell pepper to pair with the spinach artichoke dip... and got a little sauce container of chopped pepper rather than strips of pepper to dip as was the norm previously. Both our server and the other servers at this location were delightfully warm and welcoming, and often dropped by to check on us and engage in light conversation - my friends at the table have been regulars at this location. TGI's still won't be on regular rotation for me personally, but of the ones in the TC, the Maple Grove location is certainly among the best ones to visit if you don't mind a slightly darker interior. read more

In late December, I was in Maple Grove. It was 3 pm. I needed lunch. I did a quick search for restaurants in the area. I saw this TGI Fridays. I'd reckon that the last time I visited one was in Nashville, which would have been July 2022. It was time to break this weird streak. I like that there are a bunch of cool stores and eatery in this plaza. I had no problem parking in a spot and walking over to this restaurant. I was greeted quickly by a female staffer. She led me to a comfy booth. There were a few customers at his hour. My server was different. He actually sat himself down on the other side of my booth. He said hi. His name was Dynamite. He said that he hoped that he'd live up to his name this day being my server. Some may find his approach to be weird and creepy. I didn't find this move to be weird. Dynamite had a southern twang to his voice. His parents were bold to name him Dynamite. I think that having him sit himself down is more of a southern thing. In my head, I had J.J. from The Good Times saying, "Dy-no-mite!" Funny how I have childhood references that automatically surface with a single reference. I said hi and removed my jacket. I had a Grogu t-shirt on. He complimented me on it. I love this t-shirt. It's comfy and cute. Kohl's has great t-shirts. Spoiler alert: He lived up to his name. He was extremely attentive and the best server that you want at any eatery. I got the following items: - Diet Coke - Truffle tot-chos - Steakhouse meatballs - Pan-seared potstickers When I am stateside, I often go with appetizers. I like variety and trying more than one item. Mains are typically huge stateside, so I'd rather control portions with apps. However, if I want leftovers, I'll do a main. My Diet Coke was cold and refreshing. Dynamite provided refills when I was running low. Such great attentiveness on his part! I love tater tots. The truffle tot-chos were handmade and delicious. They were served with a nicely balanced truffle aioli. There was also parmesan romano shredded on top, along with some parsley for good measure. This app was perfectly portioned. My go-to app at this eatery is the pan-seared potstickers. It's pork filling with szechwan sauce. I first had these potstickers in Rochester, MN when I lived there and there used to be a TGI Fridays. They have always been delicious and consistent. They didn't disappoint here. They tasted authentic and the sear on them here was perfect. The steakhouse meatballs were new on the menu. They were all-beef meatballs with garlic herb chimichurri. They were fantastic! I loved the skewer on each one. The meatballs were flavourful and moist. They may be my new favourite app. I couldn't do dessert. I was full and happy. I paid with a credit card. I tipped. All was great. I visited the women's washroom before I left. It was clean and nicely maintained. I had a great experience. I'd return when I'm in Maple Grove and need some grub. (21) read more

It's a Friday's come for the drinks. A good selection of 15 beers on tap. The bar tender Jackie was attentive and friendly. Exactly what you would expect from a bar tender. I ordered a bacon burger medium well and added avocado. The burger was cooked to the way I ordered it. The avacado was perfect no brown spots and it wasn't hard as a rock. The bar stools could use some upholstery work some of them are looking a little tattered. read more

3 friends and I went to TGI Fridays Friday May 2 for a friends birthday. 2 selected 3 Happy Hour Apps each to have left overs, 1 had a Salmon dinner and 1 had a salad. We all enjoyed our selections. 3 different drinks and 1 wine . Sier Josh was our waiter and absolutely fantastic. As long time friends remembering Friday's in the 80's and a great waiter, we had a fabulous evening. The apps, Salmon and salad were enjoyed by each person. We're planning on returning. First time at this location and it was a take out. We ordered online, and went to pick up our dinner. There are many new items on the menu, and plenty of new adult beverages as well. The restaurant was really clean, but this was my first time on a Saturday where it wasn't crowded at at TGI restaurant. The employee was really nice, and the cooks cooked our food as requested. I have always had a lot of points, so one of our entrees was free. I ordered cheese sticks, salmon with cheese broccoli and rice for my husband. My husband had whisky wings, ribs, loaded mash potatoes, and a side salad. The food was warm when we reached the hotel, we received eating utensils and extra whisky sauce for our food. I love my salmon cooked well done, and they almost cooked it perfect. We never eat all of our food, so my husband has food to take to work, tomorrow. Next time, we will dine in. read more

Unreal I usually don't give five stars to anyone but yesterday we had a very good dinner experience, my wife and I had a very good experience at TGI Fridays thanks to our waitress Ella e l l a and the staff. We ordered a full rack of ribs which they split into for both of us half and half and two sides so they gave us a half a bowl of salad each and a half of mashed potatoes and even had a nice drink cuz it was happy hour or a little or nothing. The place has changed it's really a nice place but hasn't done much business for some reason but we had a very good experience like I said thanks to the waitress and the staff that was Johnny on the spot it's a nice decor there so we give them full five stars and hope the next one is as good as this one take care read more

I was not impressed. They got my online order correct however the food was poor quality. I ordered 3 meals. My steak was fatty and undercooked (I suppose better than over cooked). The kids chicken strip meal had a large hair in the French fries and the chicken strips were extremely dry. The wings looked and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours if not overnight (order was picked up at 11:30am). The new Tomato cucumber and onion salad looked nothing like the pictures. I've never had issues with TGI Fridays before but I feel like after COVID, food quality has greatly diminished. What a bummer. Guess I'll go with Applebees next time. read more

I haven't been here in several months and was amazed with a return trip tonight. The food was awesome, and Ella is incredible. She was bartender, host, waitress, and server - frankly one person shouldn't be wearing this many hats and they could really add another to the team, but she pulls it off with such professional ease and enthusiasm you'd never know. So here's the sitch: my friend and I are road tripping. The whole paying-for-every-meal-every-day thing is getting old. Checked my reserves and found that I had a good ol gift card for Friday's. We found a location along our route and I can say this is easily the best Friday's experience that I've ever had. The facility was very modern, updated, and clean. I was especially impressed by the lengths that the location had went to make the atmosphere feel intimate- I posted a picture of their cozy tables and arm chairs above. The bar had a granite-esque counter and was decorated with NYC inspired art. The clientele was quiet. Nobody was loud or drunk in the bar area. Our waitress Alexis was awesome and attentive. She was quick with our order and provided updates as to when the food would arrive. For an appetizer, we ordered cheese dip + pretzels. It was a cheddar dip, topped with bacon and scallions. The pretzels were large, warm, fluffy inside, and crispy on the outside. Delectable! Honestly, the cheese dip at Applebee's is better (if we're comparing chains), but the pretzels are way better at Friday's! My friend had the steak smothered with jack daniels sauce- sweet and tangy, cooked to her satisfaction. Alexis made sure we cut the steak in front of her to ensure proper cooking. It felt like a proper steakhouse! My entree was a Mediterranean naan shrimp sandwich. I'm vegetarian and the menu was very much veg-friendly. The shrimp was cooked well. Didn't love the combo of flavors in the wrap (a sweet balsamic vinaigrette and Mediterranean yogurt dip), but I didn't get too caught up on that. Overall, this chain deserves some credence. I'd definitely recommend people giving Friday's a chance. I'm not the biggest chain fan, but Friday's is really doing a lot to shed the tacky, corporate chain feel. read more

Bad service. We waited longer than 20 minutes for a drink. Then waited much longer for our food. The table next to us was seated after us and their drinks and food came and were eaten before ours were served. We didn't get napkins or eating utensils until we asked another waitress. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Worst of all, the bun on my burnt burger was rock hard and the fries were cold. The other waitress was flagged down again and brought the burger back to the kitchen and made it right. I always tip 15%, but couldn't stomach it. I feel bad for the other wait staff that has to make up for the poor performance of a few. I would have been happy with average chain fair and didn't expect more than that. Food is alright and all day happy hour is great. But every single time we go here we have the longest wait time to be seated. Today was the worst! Got there at 7 with party of 9 they told us wait time was 30 minutes and they really were not that busy. Lots of smaller open tables. An hour and a half later we thought we were finally going to be seated when a big party left. 15 minutes later we still weren't seated while the table was all cleared and set up already. We asked the hostess and she said the table is for party of 14 and we don't have enough people. WTF?? Are you kidding. She wouldn't split the table up for us but seated a group of 6 that came in after us since that lady complained right away. Worse service ever. Of course we didn't stay after speaking to a manager who sit with us right away because they'd probably spit in our food! I have been eating at Fridays for a long time. It is my son's favorite meal in the Twin Cities so I took him for dinner as a treat. I never know what to order because the menu is so big. I ordered one of their new mediteranean beef skewers. It was the best meal i have had there in a long time. It is my new fav and will definately order again. Our waiter could not have been sweeter- they really train the waitstaff at Fridays well. On the down side- my son got plain angel hair pasta and they charged me 12.00 for it. They rang it in as a chicken brushcetta without the chicken. What gives? Next time I am in they have got to figure out a cheaper way to go about that. read more

I'm laughing at myself for writing this review. I feel like the majority of the public are familiar with TGI Friday's. But what the hey.... A couple friends and I decided to have apps and drinks at TGI before going over to Dave and Busters to play a few games. Luckily, we arrived during happy hour. This offering was decent including food and drinks. The only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of vegetarian options for happy hour food. I was happy to discover that I had enough points in the rewards program for a burger. I had a vegetarian burger which was pretty good. I was very excited to learn that they serve the "Beyond Meat" patty. The Beyond Meat patty can be substituted on any burger for an up-charge. Went here for lunch today! They do have some great lunch menu specials, however we came here specifically to try the Endless Apps Menu. We ordered the Memphis BBQ Wings, Mozzarella Sticks, Loaded Potato Skins, and the Bacon Mac & Cheese Bites. The wings were in the perfect amount of sauce and had a good chicken to breaking ratio. Potato skins had the perfect amount of toppings. (My husband LOVES cheese and they satisfied his pallet) the Mac & Cheese bites were in a delectable cheese sauce. Everything came out cooked to perfection and hot. We received very prompt and friendly service for the moment we walked in the door, to our server greeting us and the manager following up with us to see how everything was tasting. Dynomite was waiter. While we were looking over menu and what we were ordering, he decides to pull up a chair & sit and stare at us. We should have left than and there. But my fiancé wanted ribs. We told him we appreciate you didn't set there and he got up & service was bad. We asked for salad before meal & that didn't happen. Finally brought it and we had to ask for silverware. Not busy at all. Dining room 3 tables had people. Never checked back again until we got the bill. It was very uncomfortable. I've reached out to Maple Grove Fridays per the link they provided. Should have heard a response in 2-3 days. Sent another message and now 2-3 more business days. Apparently they don't care about customers or concerns. I will not be going back there. read more

Something for everyone on the menu. Especially tasty is the Jack Daniels chicken. The salads are large and flavorful, the bbq chicken salad is my favorite. It's definitely worth it to join the Friday's loyalty program, if you are a member each visit earns points that quickly translate into free food. And no matter how many points you have you receive complimentary chips and salsa when you arrive. Servers are always super friendly and efficient. The only complaint I have is that the any-day happy hour specials are gone. No Saturday drink or app specials. Update: Friday's now has a Beyond Meat burger on the menu, and it's delicious! Upon telling the wait staff that we were still waiting, they got crabby and began slamming plates down on our table. There were red flags, we ignored them. As we were being seated a table near ours was berating the waitress and I kind of judged them for being so blunt-that is until they left and she was our waitress. I'm giving 2 stars because the establishment itself is not bad, the food is similar to an Applebee's- but our experience was not ideal so I don't know if I would come back to this one. Our waitress couldn't form a thought, a sentence or an explanation the whole night. It started as kind of funny, but became a problem as we suspected she may have been using or drunk. Twilight zone conversations: Actual example: "um, did you want water? Sorry I choked on my own spit. I can't find a decent nail salon, look at this sore on my lip, it hurts really bad.." walks away. Doesn't bring back water, we can't find her. Now I'm like "ok this is why that table was so frustrated!" We contemplated leaving but were hungry so we placed orders. Other waitresses we flagged for drinks, silverware etc. We were super concerned over that sore, it was obvious she was picking at it. We had multiple rambling conversations, each time "oh I'm choking on my spit, I can't breathe tonight!" While I generally avoid these places, it was crazy late and this was literally the only place left with a grill still on (that or Taco Bell, which, always sounds great until you hear the sounds in your toilet later). We swing in and get seated in the bar area at a high top next to the back alley way to the server station (keep this in mind for later). After a few minutes, I'm kind of wondering if this has become self serve at the bar? At the 7 minute mark I ask Ashley if she can see me - which gets a yes. At the 10 minute mark I look back at the bartender who catches my gaze and realizes "holy shit, someone is here!" And the server is finally sent over. We're starting off great! Waters are brought out, and of course, we could have read Moby Dick in the time it took to get them, so we've gone through the menu a dozen times already. I roll with surf and turf, steak-lobster tail combo with sweet tater fries. Ashley decides to try the "new" chicken strips. I ask for any better to be on the side, because I know these chain places believe slathering butter on everything for some reason makes them think we won't taste the quality of their food. About 10 minutes later as we're chatting, my steak-fries show up, and Ashley's food comes out. However, my lobster tail is MIA. I could have sworn these things are the tail, and don't have legs to run away from the kitchen area, but apparently mine did. I ask the server, who completely forgot about the "surf" portion of my meal, and she says she'll go back and check. I wait. And wait. I insist my better half starts eating, who knows if they went to Maine to get this thing or not. So she starts in. I then start in because my stomach started reaching for my steak knife. 10 minutes go by, and the server finally comes out and says it's just about ready then heads down the alley before I can clear my mouth and say anything. 5 minutes later, she shows up with what looks like a crawfish tail and says "here we are, enjoy and sorry." Then vanishes down the alley again... this time leaving our waters empty. The steak was cooked pretty well but lacked any flavor, at all. I know, without the butter topping to it, go figure. The sweet tater fries were ok and probably the best part of my meal. The crawfish tail, sorry, "lobster" tail, was gone in two small bites, and was overcooked to hell, tough, and luckily I had some lemon to give it any flavor. Chicken strips were good. The new buttermilk batter is a solid thing, but, it's hard to screw up anything deep fried. Get the check, and I laugh hysterically at it. I did see we got 20% off without asking, which was the least they could have done out of self guilt. God damn this place for being the only place open that late without being fast food. Next time we'll just head home and cry instead. read more
