I had a great time! STAFF REVIEW: Staff was nice and excited about their job. Very knowledgeable as well! There was someone who got all the way to the highest level, walked across a couple courses and then had a panic attack. The entire place JUMPED into action. They were going back and forth on the walkie talkies and they were able to repel her down to safety. SAFTEY MEASURES: The equipment is very easy to use and it will 100% catch you if you fall. I saw 2 people slip off, but they dangled in the air safely until they got help. You will not fall from great heights if you slip either. They go over how to use the equipment and you practice before going on the actual course. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: I will admit, there were a lot of difficult courses even tho they were marked in green (meaning they're easy). They had different heights too. You have to have pretty good arm strength and core strength. I was sore the next day since I wasn't expecting it to be THAT much of a workout. Very fun tho! Don't get me wrong. I'd go back! WARNINGS: 1. You really do need to get there on time. Don't be late. They will literally start going over everything AT your time. Be a responsible adult and plan accordingly to get their promptly. 2. If you get there and decide you can't do it. Fear of heights, anxiety, sickness, etc. you will not get a refund so make sure you are READY to climb. 3. GO IN THE MORNING! Our time was at 10:30 and you can climb around for 3 hours. But in that time, more people join (the start times will overlap) which will make it more crowded. And we went in June so it was also just super hot out. 4. Bathrooms are a slightly out of the way but the staff will inform you to use them before the instructions start and if you need to go during your climb, it might be a pain to get down, undo all your equipment, walk over there and hop back on. Just go before and you'll be fine! 5. Photos/Videos. This will be something that many people will be greatly annoyed with. We are in a generation where everyone wants to post everything they're doing. Document their life. Brag to others. Post on insta/tiktok...but you CANNOT bring ANYTHING on the course. No one from the staff will be taking photos of you either - so no photos to purchase kinda thing. All of my photos and videos were taken by my dad who did not climb with us. If you can't live in the moment, then you need help lol! Unless you REALLY need to be filmed/photographed, bring someone who is afraid of heights and they can be your paparazzi. If you aren't climbing, you don't have to pay. My dad came along because it was my birthday and he has too many medical conditions that prevents him from climbing. Hopefully my review helped! Happy climbing! I'll be back!!

Absolutely loved out experience here! Totally worth the one hour drive from Sugar Land to experience Texas TreeVentures. The safety training was hands on and very good. The obstacle course has a variety of different difficulty levels all over and you could take the easy route or challenge yourself -- I did both! There are employees all over and you can ask questions and request help or advice at any time. You cannot bring a phone or anything with you onto the course, which is GREAT! No one wants to get hit by falling objects from above or have to wait while people take a bunch of selfies or get the perfect photo. Friends/family can stand on the edges of the course and take your photo if you want, my husband took mine when he decided to finish a few minutes before me. Time slots are for 3 hours which includes about 30-40 minutes of safety training. I think they have timed it perfectly. At the end of 3 hours, I was done and ready to give my arms a rest. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Bring and wear gloves! Any type of gloves will work but they really are incredibly useful. Wear good tennis shoes. There is plenty of free parking and bathrooms. Go to the bathroom BEFORE you gear up, otherwise it's a process to remove it all. My husband ended up breaking his finger on the course - no fault of Texas TreeVentures, but he just hit a handhold on a wall wrong and it happened. When he got off the course, the staff was very helpful in getting us icepacks and lotion to get his wedding ring off (of course he broke his one finger with a ring on it). They were responsive and helpful and accidents happen. My husband had a great time on the course and did over 2.5 hours with a broken finger (he broke it at the beginning and just powered through until he really was done). We both thought the safety protocols were top notch and the course is very safe. That's saying a lot since my husband had surgery two days after breaking it and now has 2 temporary pins in his finger. We'll still go back and do it again... after he fully heals. Suggestion: Book an earlier time. The later it gets the more people are on the course.

Staff is super friendly and give you a class prior to climbing and doing the obstacles. They also let you practice as much as you want before going on the course. The staff is always there present, nearby to help, and provide water. I will definitely come back but with gloves for a better grip

Scared as eckkk. Definitely worth trying it out once. It was a tad cold when we went so you should definitely dress appropriately. Also that tell you to come 30 minutes early but you don't even start the intro/lesson until your start time. Word of advice - if you're running late, you can still make it if you get there at your start time. There's really no point in going early. It takes minutes to sign in if you did so already online and give them your stuff to hold.

This is me absolutely shredding the tree tops

Training to be the actual Spider-Man so this place was a great opportunity for me to fully embrace the figure. If you are a superhero in progress or just looking to find some family friendly fun I would definitely recommend. Also, if you see a man named Green Goblin PLEASE stay away. He's not nice. . . I learned the hard way.

    Great physical challenge

This place is AWESOME! BRKThrough is such a unique and fun experience. The website does a great job…read moreof explaining everything. I've only been here once and I would definitely come back! My husband and I booked the 2 hour experience. It seems like a lot of time, but once you play, it feels like it's not enough! The rooms truly are best played with 2-4 players. There are some rooms where 2 people is nearly impossible to get a perfect score, and there are some rooms where people would just be standing around if you have more than 4 players. Your team will have a team leader who will wear a specific wristband that opens the rooms and allows you to view your score on a big screen in the hallways. If your team doesn't care about rankings and want to just play for fun, then you can go at your own pace or split up if possible, depending on the size of your team. For example, if you have a total of 6 people playing, you could be one team with 1 team captain. For scoring, it would be best to stick together. Or you can split into two teams and have two team captains. That way, your team could split up into teams of 2 and 4 or 3 and 3 depending on the game/room. If you do care about rankings, then stick with your team and try to solve as many rooms as possible and get the perfect score. The rooms are so different! It's a lot of fun. There is definitely something for every one and many rooms to solve. Within the 2 hours, my husband and I were not able to go through all the rooms. Man, after we were done, we wanted to play more! It was exhilarating because you are trying to get through as many rooms as you can and trying to get the best score. It's like we were on a game show. haha Some rooms are addicting to where you want to just play it over and over again, but if you care about your ranking, just move on! lol The rooms have a time limit, which helps you pace yourself and prevent people from hogging a room the entire time. It gives off a "minute-it to win-it" vibe. Running around and trying to find an available room is also fun in itself. It's like a labyrinth in there. There were some technical issues with some rooms. For example, there was a soccer room where one of the goals would not score at all, so that messed with our points. There was another room involving a subway where I seriously think several answers were not on the posters provided. However, it was still fun! The employees were all super nice! One of the employees even helped us play in one room because it was one of those rooms where it would have been impossible to get a good score with only 2 people. I would say this isn't exactly a "one and done" type place. If you play with different people, it will be a different experience. Certain rooms you can definitely memorize and just plug in the answers. However, there are other rooms that are sports and arcade style, so replaying it would still be fun. Furthermore, you may not finish all the rooms the first time and by the next time you come back, they may have added additional rooms/games. Also, since they track rankings, you could try to get a better score the next time you come. The price is sort of expensive, but I think it's worth it. I mean, it's not something I would do every weekend, but I can definitely see us coming back a few more times for special occasions. They do serve food inside the venue. They have a really cool little glass box outside of each room to put your drinks inside. Also, they have free lockers to put in your purse and other valuables if you wish. There are also several cool photo opportunities. This place is just amazing. You have to just come and experience it yourself! This place is perfect for birthday parties, family outings, date night, or just to try something new. I highly recommend this place!

We have noted and appreciated the improvements made over the years. Beautiful, serene, rustic setting-a great place to unwind. -WIFI worked well and consistently throughout our visit. -Cabins basically clean, good beds, clean bed linens and generous numbers of towels. Dining table, dining chairs, side tables and coffee tables as well as couches are well worn. Basic dinnerware and eating utensils; there are no skillets, pans or cooking/serve ware utensils such as egg turners, no mixing bowls...you need to bring these with you. -Communication and information lacking. The website does not provide current updates to the facility and the status of its amenities and services. We had planned to enjoy one meal a day at The Hilltop restaurant and it was closed for our 3 day/2night visit. We had planned to have burgers/snacks by the pool and the snack bar was closed. These unannounced and unexpected closings caused us to leave the retreat and find a grocery store 15 miles away. Then we had to select food items that could be baked because we had no pots/pans or skillets nor utensils to cook and serve with. Amenities not in service included The Hilltop Herb Farm Restaurant, the snack bar beside the pool, and the hot tub. ***PLEASE NOTE: The reason I am giving this review 4 stars is the congeniality of the people at the front desk. Had they been rude I would have dropped one or more stars.*** When I inquired as to why the restaurant and snack bar were closed I was given these points of interest from the very nice young ladies at the front desk. Additionally they very graciously responded that they would inform management about my concerns. -Oh the restaurant is closed during the week-well sometimes it's open. It will be open this weekend I think. (Well, I was leaving on Friday!) -Regarding the snack bar being closed: Well it's only open if the restaurant is. -We've been slammed with big groups and some summers we are more family oriented. (I'm sorry, I was not advised that inconsistant hospitality was a management strategy!) -Regarding the hot tub; well, things break. (Understandable that things break, but how is it being addressed and will it be repaired before my party leaves?) -Carriage Rides? Nope, not in service. There are limited hours of operation for the gift shop which has gifts, snacks, and fishing supplies. It would be a convenient service if this area remained open until 9 pm. A nice evening walk to this area for an ice cream for the kids would have been a nice option. Overall there seems to be a lack of attention, concern, and dedication to providing guests with current information and procedures in order for guests to have an excellent experience. When O think of this visit I feel the most descriptive words would be "sad and lacking". It stings a little to pay the prices of our stay and to have so much broken or closed. I could have spent much less and had similar natural beauty to behold at a state or national park. I do hope that management will button things up quite a bit and provide a friendly, enthusiastic, friendly staff, with current information easily and readily available regarding amenities, services, and procedures for checking out canoes and other equipment. Suggestions: -E-Post daily retreat schedule of events -Paddleboard rentals -tennis or pickleball -a kid/teen rec area with ping pong, tv movie rentals, vending machines

Our session included at least 4 games from the "Wheel of Fortune", to "Family Feud", to Plinko from "Price Is Right" style games. The studio was a little small, but comfortable for 2 groups of 8-10. The games flowed from one to another, no breaks, but our session moved quickly. I'd say we were in the room for atleast an hour. It was well worth the time spent. We were about 18 in total meeting up on a Saturday evening to play what felt like Family Feud. When we arrived, we waited in the lobby, selected our teams, and our hosts gave us the gist of what we were about to do, then we went into the room. Each team was on opposite sides, and one player from each team had to step up to the podium, and whoever hit the buzzer first had the chance to answer the question and could steal that round for their team. The game was exciting and even had a Wheel of Fortune vibe to it as well because there's literally a wheel that you get to spin. The hosts even curated a playlist for us, which added to the experience. I'd definitely be back and I recommend this to anyone looking to have a good time with a group. Parking was decent because there's a garage close by. Not sure how much the game cost because someone took care of it for us but, I'm sure if they had drinks (I don't even drink) for adults, it could further elevate the experience.
