Of course I didn't read that'll I'll be doing the big ziplines! (Reading comprehension) That being said, you check in. You can purchase gloves(keep them for next time) and a holder for your phone if you want to record. They'll help you get suited up and go over the safety instructions. They'll let you practice as much as possible. Plus you have a whistle to call for help. I had a blast. The waiting is the hardest part of the obstacles because you're so high up. Once you lift off....you're home free.

Our reservation was at 11:30 AM, yet our group didn't get on the course until nearly 2 PM. First, we waited about 45 minutes just to get the kids into their harnesses. Then, we had to wait another 30 minutes for the safety instructions to begin--only for the staff to suddenly realize that none of our kids had gloves. We were never informed that gloves were required when we checked in, and it took another 20 minutes for them to track some down. Once that was resolved, the safety briefing took an additional 20 minutes because of our large group. Then when the kids lined up to start the course, the staff member said their harnesses weren't on correctly so he had to redo them all-mind you, their staff are the ones that put the harnesses on at the beginning. By the time the kids were finally ready to start, they had completely missed lunch and were starving. While they still managed to have fun on the course, the overall experience was incredibly frustrating due to the staff's poor coordination and lack of communication. This place is in desperate need of better management.

NOBODY talked to me when I went to pick him up, not a single employee approached me to let me know what had happened, I had to get all the information from my 7 year old. I got there minutes before 12 (camp was 9-12) and my kid is sitting on the floor ALONE with teary eyes. Shouldn't there be a protocol for when these things happen???! I understand there's a risk on these activities, I understand I signed a waiver and this could've happened anywhere, but THE FACT THAT NOBODY SEEMED TO CARE and my son was there waiting for me WITH A BROKEN ARM!!!!! I called to talk to a manager, but they said one will call me back. Please do better and call a parent if a kid is in pain!

Now, I'm no expert at painting, but I appreciated how difficult it was to get the colors, shadows, lighting, textures, and movement right. I enjoyed mixing colors and trying my best to paint the right strokes. Our instructor, Juan, made painting approachable and fun. He brought humor to our class as well. There were other staff helping to make sure people didn't run out of paint colors, especially yellow and white for this painting. This was still a timed class so we didn't have a ton of time to learn exactly how to paint certain parts right. Overall, everyone's paintings came out great, with each person bringing their own take on the prototype painting. Like other painting classes, you can bring drinks and snacks. But, I didn't eat anything because I was so focused on the painting. I would recommend eating prior to the event. As a group activity, this is great as a team bonding and relaxation experience. I would definitely come again with friends or family.

The hints gave just enough info so that someone in our group would be able to work out the solution without us ever getting frustrated. We escaped with a few minutes remaining and felt very accomplished (we did save the galaxy after all haha). For those worried about difficulty, this location allows you to ask for hints at any time, making the challenge scalable to your own preference. The theming of Cosmic Crisis was very cool, and the technology was also pretty impressive! We'll definitely be returning to tackle some of their more challenging rooms!

To be fair, the second time was because our original room stopped working, but the staff handled it so well. They moved us to a new room, gave us free T-shirts, and made sure we still had a great experience. I never realized how exciting it could be to work together to solve puzzles and "escape" before. They give you just enough help so you don't get stuck, but not so much that it feels unfair. It's the perfect balance of challenging and fun. That said, I probably wouldn't recommend doing three rooms in a single day--by the third time, everyone was a little aggravated (normal when you're locked in small spaces together!). Once or twice is perfect. Overall, 10/10 would recommend The Escape Game Houston. It's exciting, well-run, and a fantastic way to bond with coworkers, friends, or family.
