Best Ice Skating rink in Houston, Texas.
    Andrew L.

The Woodlands Ice Rink is by far the best ice skating rink in Houston, Texas. The staff is always friendly + professional and the ice is always kept in tip top shape. I used to go to an ice rink on the other side of Houston until my friends discovered this place. The owners are extremely friendly and are unbelievably passionate about the sport as well. I love that Alexandra really goes all out to make the kids have an amazing time for parties and weekends. I look forward to getting a chance to come by again soon.

Lovely view from the cold benches outside the rink.

Same train wreck year after year. Excessive prices, disorganized, no parking, and when an issue comes up, no attempt to correct it. This year's issues: No parking nearby AND all entrances to building off Lake Robbins are locked. Very confusing & time consuming to actually get in to the building. After you purchase the tickets online, you still have to stand in line again at the ticket counter to obtain a sticker to skate. Perhaps they can have a separate line or attendant for people who have already purchased tickets? Then another wait for skates. By the time we hit the rink after parking, nearly 30 mins passed by. They also now require you to pay for a reserved table if you want to sit inside the rink. I brought my daughter and her friend and reserved an inside table, so I could keep and eye on them and hold on to their belongings. The person at the ticket counter instructs me to look for a table with my name on it. So I spend another 10 mins looking for it with all the kids' stuff in my hands. Guess what? No table. So I go back to the ticket counter and inquire about it. Oops! Looks like for some reason, my payment on the table reservation went through. But they don't actually have any table availability for me. So they said they would refund me the cost of the table (will have to see if they actually do that). I asked what I was supposed to do, and I was instructed to sit on the benches outside the rink. I spent $50 for this fantastic experience. If the above is your idea of a great Sunday afternoon, by all means, go here. Next time my daughter begs to go ice skating here, I will really have to put my foot down and say no. A few years back (right before Covid hit), I saw an elderly woman fall and bleeding from her head on the ice. I said "we need to call 911, the woman has had a head injury and is on a blood thinner (I had asked her)." And the rink manager said, "No, we only call an ambulance if the injured person asks for one." Really? You are expecting a person bleeding from the head to take care of her own ambulance? I wish they would shut this rink down, TBH. It's awful. Update to original review: Just saw a woman sitting outside the rink in a wheelchair surrounded by EMS workers and an ambulance nearby. Further confirms safety issues with this rink.

the woodlands ice rink has amazing customer service, with their large smiles on their faces at all times. the ice rink it's self is a perfect size and very family friendly highly recommended!!

We recently had my daughter's birthday party at this location and I must say it was awesome! My daughter and her guests had a wonderful experience with the characters (Elsa, Anna, & Belle) and it made for a truly special experience. The facility was very clean and the decorations were very festive. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. If you're looking for a unique birthday experience I highly suggest this business.

The over view of the ice rink. There are food and drink vendors including a bar! And tables to sit at or reserve.

It's always great finding a skating rink in your pie. I wish it was open all year round rather than just during school holidays. It be great to see a open skate every night of the week. But also be sweet to have a hockey league.

Front entrance parking garage walking distance away

I would suggest you check the place out for yourself. Kid and adult friendly. Open until 9 pm during weekdays. FREE parking. Decorations for the Holidays are beautiful. Budget friendly. Clean restroom.

Atm and lockers are next to the concessions

This place is AWESOME! BRKThrough is such a unique and fun experience. The website does a great job…read moreof explaining everything. I've only been here once and I would definitely come back! My husband and I booked the 2 hour experience. It seems like a lot of time, but once you play, it feels like it's not enough! The rooms truly are best played with 2-4 players. There are some rooms where 2 people is nearly impossible to get a perfect score, and there are some rooms where people would just be standing around if you have more than 4 players. Your team will have a team leader who will wear a specific wristband that opens the rooms and allows you to view your score on a big screen in the hallways. If your team doesn't care about rankings and want to just play for fun, then you can go at your own pace or split up if possible, depending on the size of your team. For example, if you have a total of 6 people playing, you could be one team with 1 team captain. For scoring, it would be best to stick together. Or you can split into two teams and have two team captains. That way, your team could split up into teams of 2 and 4 or 3 and 3 depending on the game/room. If you do care about rankings, then stick with your team and try to solve as many rooms as possible and get the perfect score. The rooms are so different! It's a lot of fun. There is definitely something for every one and many rooms to solve. Within the 2 hours, my husband and I were not able to go through all the rooms. Man, after we were done, we wanted to play more! It was exhilarating because you are trying to get through as many rooms as you can and trying to get the best score. It's like we were on a game show. haha Some rooms are addicting to where you want to just play it over and over again, but if you care about your ranking, just move on! lol The rooms have a time limit, which helps you pace yourself and prevent people from hogging a room the entire time. It gives off a "minute-it to win-it" vibe. Running around and trying to find an available room is also fun in itself. It's like a labyrinth in there. There were some technical issues with some rooms. For example, there was a soccer room where one of the goals would not score at all, so that messed with our points. There was another room involving a subway where I seriously think several answers were not on the posters provided. However, it was still fun! The employees were all super nice! One of the employees even helped us play in one room because it was one of those rooms where it would have been impossible to get a good score with only 2 people. I would say this isn't exactly a "one and done" type place. If you play with different people, it will be a different experience. Certain rooms you can definitely memorize and just plug in the answers. However, there are other rooms that are sports and arcade style, so replaying it would still be fun. Furthermore, you may not finish all the rooms the first time and by the next time you come back, they may have added additional rooms/games. Also, since they track rankings, you could try to get a better score the next time you come. The price is sort of expensive, but I think it's worth it. I mean, it's not something I would do every weekend, but I can definitely see us coming back a few more times for special occasions. They do serve food inside the venue. They have a really cool little glass box outside of each room to put your drinks inside. Also, they have free lockers to put in your purse and other valuables if you wish. There are also several cool photo opportunities. This place is just amazing. You have to just come and experience it yourself! This place is perfect for birthday parties, family outings, date night, or just to try something new. I highly recommend this place!

Plus the location is close to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion so it allowed us to hear the Dave Matthews Band concert performance which took place on the 8th. Nothing like hearing the soulful sounds of the violins and horns from that band. The hotel has some nice amenities including a hot tub and pool located on the 2nd floor (both are outdoors). There's several lounge chairs where you can hang out while you get your tan on by the pool. There's also a hotel kitchen/bar area serving up nice cocktails and theres' the breakfast area which is complimentary for Globalist members which we took advantage of. I loved their brisket eggs benedict; definitely recommend ordering. Now back to our suite, there was also a lounge couch giving us more room to spread out. They also gave us complimentary chocolates and a hand-written note welcoming us while mentioning our anniversary. I really liked that personal touch as it made us feel valued. The bed is comfortable and we slept quite nicely. There is a mural above the bed of some woman with a hat covering her eyes; it kind of freaked us out at first but we grew to appreciate the artistic touch. Parking is behind the hotel where you can do valet or self-parking. It's also within walking distance for all the shops/outlets so there's plenty to do staying here. Definitely a favorite hotel of ours and we'll be more than happy to stay here again!

Service is friendly and pool restaurant good. The country club is in walking distance if you want golf or tennis. There are several pools. For families, the pool is THE activity and truly, the only activity. The woodlands lake is a 5 min drive so the trolly and pedal boats entertained us! It was fun. The breakfast was delicious. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.
