I had a persistent electrical problem that I couldn't sort. Jason got me in and figured it out and while I was in, got me set up with a new two inch coupler, adjusted the position on the trailer jack, added proper safety chains, and welded two new tie-downs. This really finished the job for my converted sailboat trailer, which I modified to carry my classic Wherry rowing gig. I don't care about any other review.......Ever been stranded on a long holiday weekend? I have. What started out as a blown wheel bearing on my dual axle trailer turned into a monster! I had some parts but not all and only found them here. Next problem was actually completing the repair. I tried and ultimately threw in the towel. I called Texas Trailer Man for recommendations since I'm not from the area. Good ole Bill got Jason on the phone and Jason came out to me! They sell trailers and say the do trailer repairs. Called as I needed side trailer door on race car trailer. I was told they'd come to me to get a quote to replicate and replace. I decided to take the door off and bring it to them and did. When I took the door to them so it could be replicated. I forgot the bottom piece took it to them. I asked if they would come to where the trailer is to professionally install it. They then to me they don't install them they just replicate them. I'd have to put it on myself. They are taking my door to a third party which probably means they are having it made then marking the price up. Now I'm worried the third party won't get the full story thus adding probability it's not going to install easily if at all. When I went back with the door was still lying on the ground where I'd left it the day before. I'll come back and fill you in although I'm not feeling it. The conclusion to be added. The owner is a piece of work, I called about 10 days in advance about working on my trailer. I made a 8:00 am appointment for Friday to get the brakes looked at on a trailer. When I showed up to have them fixed he said it would be Monday because he had 2 trailers ahead of me, so I asked him about my appointment and that's when the nastiness came out. He became really upset and BAD attitude came flying out. Then he starts getting very loud and says well I will fix it myself. He comes out with a forklift to get my trailer and he is even madder at this point and starts his yelling and getting mad at me for bring the trailer for him to fix. This is when I hooked my trailer back up and said I will take it some place else to get it fixed and he gets mad about that. I tell him he needs to get his attitude fixed. He starts yelling again and getting madder still. About 1-1/2 years ago I bought a enclosed trailer from him in Jan. 2017 and paid for it as I had a job to go to out of state. Paper plates was put on they told me the regular license plate would take a week to 10 days to get so. Three weeks later no license plate so I left and did the job got back the end of Feb. and still no plates. They told me another week, I went by there place again 2 weeks later still no plates. I finally got my license plates the end of March. When they get the trailers in they finance them with the bank and to get the title they have to pay the trailer off to get me the title and plates. I think they used my $6000.00 for three months interest free and when I told them I had to have my plates and title they had to come up with the money to pay the bank for the trailer to get the title. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. Very rude and I think very shady company. One thing I would like to add is the women is very nice not sure what her roll is but he needs to shut up and let her run the business for him. read more

Trailer Man over charges. I called to order a Norstar truck bed. Just called place an order and give my credit card not haggle price. The owner quoted a price over MSRP. When I ask why he was charging more than MSRP, he replied because Norstar only has one ready to go and because of freight and he only makes 15%. I called Circle B Trailers in Cleburne and Saved $750 off what Trailer Man quoted. After I bought the truck bed, I noticed Circle B had dump trailers as well and bought one. I dealt with Ricky and his staff; they were all very polite and knowledgeable. Circle B is a hidden gem. You can find them on the Norstar website dealer locator. read more

What are y'all talking about this was the easiest experience of my life. I've been dealing with this trailer for two weeks trying to get tags on it. Sat in the DMV 3 times for hours got it weighed, certified, insured and ready for inspection. I walked in and they immediately said it wouldn't pass because of my lack of brakes. I asked if they could install them and they said yes $650 and see ya next week. I had my trailer slated for a show the very next day and knew I would have to sit at the tax office for hours to get plates so this was not ok. I explained my situation and they said leave it here we will try and get it done by mid day tomorrow. I got a call two hours later telling me it's done and it was only $220. These guys saved my butt! I have a small travel trailer that needed a new coupler and jack. I went to this place and was quoted a price. The work was done and I was satisfied with the work.,the final bill was about $100 more than was originally quoted. I didn't say anything about it (my bad) as I thought the work was done well and overall reasonable. When I arrived home, I saw that the trailer's left brake electrical conduit was hanging low. I inspected it, and found the electrical wiring to that side was torn and frayed. I called the business that night and left a message. The next morning I spoke with the woman at the front desk, told her about this and I that I didn't think that electrical wiring was damaged prior to having the coupler etc replaced. I asked her if I could bring the trailer back and have the mechanic look it over so we could figure out how to handle it. She said fine. As my work hours don't correspond well with this business (they are open Monday-Friday, 8-5; I typically work Mon-Friday 7-6), it took me a few weeks to be able to schedule time to leave work early. On Thursday Sept 6, I called and spoke to the same front desk lady. I told her I was finally able to get off work to bring the trailer to the business to have it looked at. I told her I could bring it on Friday Sept.7; she said that would be fine. So today I busted my butt to get out of work, drive home, hitch up the trailer, and drive to the business before closing time at 5. I arrived at 445. The front lobby was empty, and the owner heard the doorbell to greet me. Long story short, the receptionist had told him nothing about my situation (so he said). He said "this isn't the first time" that she had not communicated something with him. I told him they I was there, and pretty quick his irritation showed up. He started speaking much more loudly. He sat down and then asked again what I was there about. I told him the whole story, that the electrical wiring was damaged, that I honestly didn't think it was damaged before I took the trailer there, and that the receptionist had taken my call when I originally called to Report It and had also told me it was ok to bring my trailer back to leave for the weekend and have looked at next week. The owner was huffy, incredulous, repeated loudly several times "how could this happen?" I told him I didn't know, but repeated that I didn't believe the wiring was damaged prior to my business there. I purposefully kept my speech calm and specific and respectful. He became more loud and confrontational. He asked me how he would know that the damage had occurred at his facility- and in good faith, as I had been the whole time, told him I didn't know know for sure, but that I had not seen this damage prior to my business with his shop.,,After that he was louder and argumentative. I have no desire to get in a shouting match, and am not one to sit and be yelled at when I have taken appropriate steps to report a problem. So I began to walk out of the office. He yelled "well don't leave!" But I had seen his true colors and went out the door. I heard him cursing and slamming objects as the door was shutting. Honestly, I don't know where or when the electrical wiring damage occurred. I specifically told that to the receptionist and to the owner. I was upfront about it.,But I do believe the damage occurred at he shop, and I calmly and professionally reported the issue. The owner could have handled this differently, and thus would have earned a lifetime customer. He could have not been dismissive of his receptionist in front of a customer; (he could have a long discussion with her to see where their communication broke down);?he could have calmed himself down before displaying disbelief and anger; he could have entertained the notion that a problem really might have happened at his shop and not been arrogant in his disbelief; he could have even willing to calmly work with me on the issue to find a solution that was acceptable to both. I wasn't trying to scam him, I noted a problem and gave him an opportunity to help me. His attitude and language were unacceptable to me, so I just left. I have read other reviews about this shop and owner, and reviews are mixed. He has a good opportunity to review his business procedures and communication, and an opportunity to learn and practice basic customer service skills, if he desires to. Otherwise perhaps he is fine with not having repeat customers, and having yet again a bad review. read more

Wow! What a horrible experience dealing with The Texas Trailer Man. I feel sorry for his workers. They are great guys as is the secretary, but the owner is a piece of work who has no sense at all about good customer service. I gave him my trailer a month ahead of time and he said that was plenty of time to get it finished. I'm now coming on 5 weeks and the job is still not finished. I was cool about it up until today when Bill the owner basically told me tough, that I'd just have to wait or come pick up my trailer as is right now. What a jerk! Plus, the whole quoting and pricing process felt shady with this guy. Rather than taking responsibility for not having my trailer done on time, all I got was, deal with it or else. I would steer very, very clear of The Texas Trailer Man! Other shops are more expensive, but worth the quality of mind working with honest folks. If you have a limited budget and have to go with The Texas Trailer Man, just do your best to limit any interaction with the owner. You'll have a much, much better customer experience if you never even have to talk to him. He has some quality folks working for him but I'd be surprised if they are there much longer or this business open much longer. read more
