After 2 months not working on site. We emailed the company on 11/19/2024 requesting to finalized the project by 12/04/2024 or pay what they owe. Absolutely Outdoors/Gary Hoffman never replied. We sued the company on 12/06/25 in Small claims court Harris County Tx. On 12/13/24 we emailed Absolutely Outdoors a termination letter, so we could hire an other contractor to finalize the pool after 7 months of delay. The only reply we received was "Thank you" Gary's LAWYER responded to the demand on 12/20/25 denying "each and every allegation and demands strict proof thereof as required by the Texas Civil Procedure " We are still waiting for court date to continue this demand. *In addition we've received visits from at least two of Absolutely Outdoors's subcontractors- excavations and plumbing companies- informing us that they never received payment for the work they completed in our backyard 7 months ago.* We just recently completed our backyard project with an other contractor. He said he's worked on budgets from $50,000 to over a million. After I gave him my budget and started stating things I wanted to start working on in the back (after dragging me along for a couple weeks with slow responses), he tells me based on my budget and expectations he withdraws himself from my bid process. I'm not quite sure why he would tell me he could work with any budget and wanted to work on my backyard when that is not the case. Super frustrating when my husband and I were ready to give him all of our business and was excited on his knowledge and expertise. I wouldn't recommend anyone using them unless apparently your budget is very hefty.

If I could give zero stars I would! CK Pools damaged my pool heater equipment by improper balancing…read moreand causing corrosion inside and then acknowledged fault, and then completely failed to make it right. Despite already accepting responsibility, they refused to refund or properly replace the heater they damaged. After weeks of back-and-forth, delays, and excuses, they finally offered to replace it -- but with a cheaper, off-brand heater, not the brand and quality of the original equipment they broke. To make matters worse, their chemical mismanagement caused extremely high alkalinity, which resulted in guests' hair turning green -- a clear sign of improper water balance and potentially damaging to skin and hair. This is especially alarming for anyone who hosts guests or values safety. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and urgency throughout this process has been exhausting and IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. This happend in August! If you value your equipment, your guests, or your peace of mind: RUN. I would never trust CK Pools again and strongly caution anyone considering their services.
