Always love a good steak at Texas roadhouse. However, our customer experience was really awful today. Took my 10 year-old son out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. Ordered the special drink for him and one special drink with a little extra libation for myself. His glass arrived with crack in it. I asked the waitress to exchange it for a new drink with no glass broken. I learned a trick from my father, to put a little something in food sent back. I put a peanut shell in the broken glass, Drink. The new one arrived, and you guessed it peanut shell in the new glass. They had just transferred the liquid to a new glass. Never mind any safety hazard of my child, drinking pieces of broken glass, just saving a buck or laziness on part of the staff. I let it go. But then my margarita arrived with a spicy rim that was not asked for, I don't do spicy food. So I asked if I could exchange it for what I ordered. And again, yes, you guessed it. It arrived with chunks of spicy rim in the new glass because they just poured it into a new cup. I asked to speak to the manager. I had a good sense of humor about it. Some young lady with a lot of eye makeup on came to the table wide eyed and announced she was the assistant manager or shift manager. In very polite terms, I explained what happened with a smile on my face to let her know this is not a safe practice. People don't wanna drink, broken glass and people have all allergies. Her response was basically thanks for letting me know. I'm not doing anything about it. And she went on her merry way. we never saw her or heard from her again. Really poor service from her and the wait staff. Our waitress was lovely and did a decent enough job. Some things like bringing us a sweet potato instead of the baked potato we asked for and not asking what temperature we wanted one of the steaks to be cooked at. But I'm not a grinch and we smiled and let that go. We still had a good meal because we do love the bread and beef! Texas Roadhouse is Chilis of steak houses but they're good enough. I like the bread, I like the apps, the steak is an in-law favorite. Service is always good, reasonably priced drinks, and usually busy unless you go late or early. If you're steakin' on a budget, this spot is reasonable. read more

Complimentary fly wing in my Caesar salad -- no extra charge! Dined at the Texas Roadhouse in Flower Mound and found what appeared to be a fly wing in my Caesar salad. My first thought was, "Where's the rest of the fly?" The manager came over and offered to replace the salad, which we politely declined. While I appreciate the visit to the table, I was disappointed that there was no effort beyond offering another salad to address the situation. Unfortunately, experiences like this make it feel as though customer satisfaction is no longer the priority at many large corporate chain restaurants. With such a high volume of customers, it can seem like retaining individual customers isn't as important as it once was. We've been using the take-out service for several years and the food has always been at least 'good'. Recently however, we have received our food in their usual black/clear plastic food trays, but instead of the side dishes and condiments - which are in polystyrene tubs or small plastic tubs - being packed separately in the take out bags as they used to be, they have started putting them inside the food trays to contact with the main dish. These polystyrene and plastic containers have been standing on otherwise dirty countertops, and handled by the staff, and today there were even pieces of 'greenery' on the outside of one of them and my order had no greenery in it. This is a dirty practice and should be stopped immediately, and gone back to the previous practice of bagging them separately. read more

Texas Roadhouse demonstrates that you can never underestimate the power of a complimentary basket of bread to attract crowds of diners (I'm sure Olive Garden would agree!). As tasty as their rolls with cinnamon butter are though, the rest of the food needs to measure up if they want repeat customers. In my experience, there's about a 50/50 chance of that happening at any given location. Fortunately, on my latest visit to this one, it all did. I tried their country fried chicken for the first time and it couldn't have been better. That, along with a hefty scoop of bacon and cheese topped mashed potatoes and a caesar side salad turned out to be one of the best comfort meals I've had in a long time. The rest of my family felt the same way about their food with the exception of a half slab of ribs that fell a little short. Even though the meat was tender enough to fall off the bone, it was still a little dry. The ribs were also something that none of us had ever tried before. At 3 in the afternoon the place was much busier than we expected (see above comment on free bread) so our entrees took a while to arrive. But, our server did the best she could by keeping the fresh rolls coming, making sure our drinks were full and checking on us regularly. I've always had a pretty indifferent attitude towards Texas Roadhouse in general and usually rate them accordingly with 3 stars. However, this last visit has definitely helped move the needle up on my overall impression closer to 4 stars. read more

I really regret bringing my fiancé in for her birthday dinner tonight. Let me start by saying we were running late due to our kids not sharing with us about a last minute project they had to do tonight. We arrived at Texas Roadhouse about 5 after 9. We ordered an 8 0z strip MW & a Medium rare 12oz Fort Worth Ribeye. Zane was very nice, but being in the last hour of operations he was very sidetracked with his closing duties. We ran out of honey cinnamon butter. Zane was busy so I tried to get my own but the tray was empty with the exception of one that looked like it had hit the floor. Steaks came out. My fiancé's was fine. Mine was thick but extremely over cooked. Zane apologized a lot. Le'Anne came by to check on us. Asked how we were doing.... Trying to be optimistic I said, "getting better." We weren't in fact getting better. The line prep manager brought my remake steak out. It was extremely thin. You could tell a press iron was used to bring it to temp quickly. He asked he to cut into it. It had some pink. A thin line, not a hot pink as legendary service would suggest. I was hungry and told him that was fine. As we sat there the pink slowly disappeared and I was eating a tough, over cooked, cold thin steak. Over all Zane was polite. We picked a bad time to come in. Food was lousy. I'd rate tonight's experience a 2 out of a ten. Far from the legendary birthday experience I had anticipated. This is our go-to location. If you are unaware, Texas Roadhouse serves steaks, ribs, chicken, salads, burgers and all the stuff you'd expect from a large sit down chain. The ambiance is unsurprisingly western, with lots of western memorabilia and decor across the restaurant. Some locations play music so loud you can't talk, but this isn't one of them. You can hear the music but conversations aren't difficult. Service here has always been great. The food itself is as expected. It's good eats but not a 5 star dining experience. I'd take this Texas themed restaurant over the down under one any day of the week. read more

And don't bother to complain to the manager, Tara Weisman about it because she does not care and will do nothing about it. Rather, she will tell you to get out of her restaurant. My favorite restaurant but totally disappointed me. Ordered sirloin steak, med well cooked. Received a bloody red steak that was inedible! Kind of ruined my appetite! Was charged for loaded baked potato that was not loaded! What a mess! Only good thing was the large margarita and it was quite good. Ambience was "rushed" starting with the person taking us to our table asking us what appetizers we wanted before we headed for the table, that was ridiculous! The salad dressing was skimpy, potato toppings skimpy too. Server told us there was an extra charge for an additional tiny plastic sample cup of dressing. I doubt they will survive being so cheap! Always the best steaks and service around! I go here often with my family, and we get the fried onions and fill up on rolls! Whatever seasoning they put on their meat is absolutely mouth watering. It is a bit loud with the music but that's just part of the fun atmosphere they work to create. I was in the mood for steak, and I happened to have a gift card, so Let's Do It! 8oz filet hit the spot! I asked for medium, and it was slightly more than medium. The servers ask you to cut into it before they leave to ensure it meets your standards. I wasn't one to complain, just a friendly tip for if/when you order a steak. I felt the salmon was a little too salty. My spicy companion also felt it was a little too salty, yet she liked the flavor. For dessert, we could tell the strawberry cheesecake was frozen as it had that "crisp" to it. The salads(house and caeser)and, of course, the unlimited rolls and cinnamon butter were the stars of the show! Service was spectacular despite how busy it was. We have been here countless times and each time we request a booth near the TVs. Every time we are told there's a long wait and offered somewhere else to sit to accommodate the staff. We thank them and don't mind waiting after they seemed put out at our request. This last visit it was open and not busy but told no due to staff not being able to service us in that section even though there were others there. I know it's not a sports bar but it's nice to watch games while dining. I feel they are lacking in customer service. I even spoke with the manager and said we could pick up our food from the bar but was told no. I've been curious about the Texas Roadhouse burger. I heard that it is fresh ground from their steaks (not sure if true). I've had most things on the menu but never the burger. Their steaks and ribs are so good that it is tough to accept the opportunity cost of ordering something else. The burger was ordered medium rare and they nailed it. Seriously. If aliens landed in a UFO they were like "you get one chance to show us the perfect example of a medium rare burger" then this burger would have been the entire Earth's best representation. Super good and super moist. Toppings were good : lettuce, tomato, fresh red onion. I asked for the mustard, grilled jalapenos and the pickles. The only thing that I didn't care for was the bun. It was super dense which made it difficult to bite without everything squeezing out. This was one of those situations where you have to pick up the burger with both hands and there is no putting it down until you eat it all. Wife was on phone unlock / camera duty. Good burger but I still think that Roadhouse steaks, ribs, and chicken tenders are the best anywhere so I wouldn't order anything else. By the way, restaurant overall was great. Service great. I'm not necessarily looking for a discount, but they can be 20 minutes late on a mistake that was sent back and they just apologize. I spent my whole life in the restaurant business. Overall a good place to have a relaxed meal at a reasonable price. The one issue that I REALLY don't like is their policy to allow minors to sit at the bar. I understand that it doesn't break any laws (most states done allow this), but I don't want to sit at a bay next to a 7 year old. It's just uncomfortable, and I feel they should be sitting at a table with their family. I like to sit at the bar to give space to those families, and it only seems like common sense to have minor children sit somewhere other than the bar. read more

Texas Roadhouse used to be good but it has definitely fallen off. I used to go here a lot a few years ago, but I won't be back. SERVICE: Our service was sub-par. Our waitress was fine and we tend to be low maintenance so a couple of check-ins is fine for us. But she and another server kept switching tables and we got delivered the wrong food more than once and they ended up switching our checks too. I'm not sure if the other table paid for our tab, but it took several minutes to get things sorted. Not sure what happened to their tab as they left before we figured out what happened. FOOD: I was fine with what I got (kids grilled chicken and mashed potatoes), but my boyfriend was super unimpressed with his burger. Under cooked and they gave him double buns somehow. The food tends to just be just meh or bad. I got a drink (the Porch Rocker, which might I add when I ordered the waitress didn't even know what I meant and I had to point it out to her) and it was just okay. Kind of watered down but I didn't even bother trying to get a remake. We went because we had gotten a gift card from my Grandma for Christmas, but we won't be returning. read more

We usually frequent the Texas Roadhouse in Denton but due to a 40 min wait we decided to go to Flower Mound which only had a 20 min wait. Alexa our server did a good job. My husband ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and had no complaints. I order a 6 oz Filet medium and received what appeared to be an overcooked Sirloin. It was tough and lacked flavor. I would have mentioned it to the manager, Trinity but she failed to stop at our table. She stopped at the table behind us and the table next to us. Came by this location, and was totally disappointed in our experience. We came in early in the evening when it wasn't busy at all. However once we were sat down, whoever was supposed to be our server failed to come by. This was confusing as there were a whole crowd of servers standing by a register the whole time we waited. We finally gave up after 20 minutes of waiting and decided to leave, but as we were leaving we heard one of the servers whisper to their coworker "Did they cash out?" Yeah...it's a little tricky to cash out on a meal that we couldn't order because we were never given the opportunity to do so. Maybe cause we weren't yt enough to be in this part of town... seemed like if you didn't look like them you weren't going to get the service they got. Packed like always which isn't the bad part of it all. We couldn't hear our waiter and she wasn't going to talk any louder. What we ordered: (appetizers) two baskets of fried pickles, two orders of grilled shrimp. 6 fountain drinks -two tiny kids- and they brought all big drinks. 2 adult beverages: 1 - Cactus Water (didn't come w/tajin on the rim like it's pictured on the menu but the drink itself was disgusting) 1 - Texas PEACH fuzz (says there's orange juice in the drink but the whole drink was just orange juice) just call it "Texas Orange Juice" didn't taste anything like peach. Ordered several steaks with sides and at this point nothing was good wouldn't recommend going to this location or Flower Mound, Tx for that matter.
