Had a good steak which has been solid for a long time. The dipping sauce do the onion is different and not very good. Texas Roadhouse is usually a favorite stop in Athens. We do enjoy the food. Unfortunately, the service on this night was very poor. The hostesses had so many excuses for delays. The first wait was 60 minutes which we understood because the store was busy. The second wait time that we were given was 15 more minutes. The hostess out front then said to my wife that they were seating customers randomly. After following up, the third wait time given to us was 25 more minutes. 25 minutes later, the hostess said it would be 30 more minutes. In the meantime parties as large as ours and bigger were seated. Management needs to address these issues for seating. We may come back but we will definitely think twice before we do. read more

Pretty good with an acceptable wait time for such a big party. The steak was delicious! Only 4 stars though because they messed up my sides (no biggie) but also don't have any substantial vegetarian options and still managed to mess up my vegetarian friend's side orders. The server vanished, while 4 other tables around us finished and they seated new guests two of which even finished and left. UNREAL! As mentioned, this was not an isolated incident! We have visited many times, and this was by far the worst. The rolls were hot and fresh. We were waited on quickly. After this, we barely saw our waitress, even when my husband's cup set empty for 20 minutes. We waited over an hour for our food. My husband's ribeye had been setting awhile before being served. Low expectations but nowhere to eat in Athens, OH on graduation weekend and Texas Roadhouse offered call ahead reservations. Shocked at how good it was. Today I went to Texas Roadhouse with my friend for dinner. Everything was going good until they brought out our salads. I started to put my dressing into my salad and then I noticed something off. I pulled on the thing and I pulled out a long piece of black hair. This is not the first time this has happened. I came here about a week ago ordered the same salad and found a piece of hair in it. Both times I couldn't finish eating as it disgusted me. This time one of the employees saw and came to take it and asked if I wanted another one and I said no. I love this restaurant and the food is good but this has happened twice. Use to frequent one in Chantilly VA that was real good but my past experience in Huntington WV sort of turned off of Texas road house but I was really amazed how well I was treated and taken care of here in Athens Ohio especially after reading some of the views. Today I went to this location with my boyfriend and everything was outstanding. From the service, to the food and overall environment everything was great. I've only eaten at Texas Roadhouse a handful of times, but nothing regarding my previous experiences really stood out to me initially when some friends suggested we eat here after we finished our workouts. Enter Joann. Joann [sp.] was truly the person who made each of our Texas Roadhouse visits this week memorable. She was extremely pleasant and a super personable waitress. From the jump, I began to order my usual club soda w/ lime but she told me straight up, "you don't want to do that because of _______." I appreciated her opinion and transparency and I knew then I could trust her on other recommendations. The entire week, (we've eaten here maybe 4 times, convenient to the hotel and open later than other restaurants in the area) Joann went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant: From the light hearted jokes and conversation, to her bringing me two glasses of water with each refill because she noticed how fast I drank them and that I'm a thirsty individual. She really made us feel like we were her only table amongst the crowd. The food was cooked perfectly to my liking. Each time I went, I ordered the pork chop dinner. You have the option to get either one or two chops, along with two sides. The first night I ordered only one chop, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The next I opted for two chops and potatoes with white gravy. The chops were amazingly juicy and easy to cut into. Not only that, they were tender, seasoned well and easy to chew. I will say that for me, one chop is filling, but was not enough. However, with two pork chops I felt like I was over eating by the time I got to the end. Pick your poison on whether or not you want one or two. They're sizable, but If you're a smaller person one is definitely enough. The green beans weren't my favorite, so on the next visit I ordered broccoli which was cooked just fine. Not too firm, but not mushy soft either. This may be my first ever visit to a Texas Roadhouse after years of driving past them. Pretty good experience. Got on the waitlist online, walked to the restaurant, was greeted in a professional and friendly manner. Walking to the table the young lady asked about my experience and I told it was a first for the chain and she was very welcoming. Short wait for the wait staff who was helpful. Ordered a New York strip with baked potato and a cup of chili. Bread was good and I enjoyed the honey butter but I only ate one small role as I wanted to leave room for the main course. Ice tea glasses were real glasses and a great size. Chili arrived quickly and was tasty. I've eaten my share of chili and I did not leave any to waste so it was good. Steak came with two small baked potatoes. Waitress said they included two because they were relatively small. While that is true one was the perfect size for me. Everything tasted good, waitress was timely and professional, and I was able to pay online though the NCR system could be better that's not the fault of this location and I'll provide feedback directly to corporate about that. read more

The peanuts along with the delicious bread and butter were awesome. Server, Tim, was helpful. Prime Rib was great. One could really taste the hickory smoke. Delicious rack of ribs that fell off the bone. If your up for an old fashion sweet side, treat yourself to a loaded sweet potato! Tim recommend Louis M. Martini® Cabernet and it was perfect. Ate here for the fourth time. Food has gotten better seasoning-wise, but the cooks haven't. Ordered a ribeye "as rare as possible" and got a steak medium rare. I requested anither steak cooked rare, and my next steak came back worse- medium to med-rare. At this point I pointed this out, but was too hungry so I ate half of original steak. My server was nice and helpful throughout the time, and I had my meal taken off. After multiple visits, if I want a decent steak I will spend a little extra money and eat at Cutler's. I have to acknowledge how lucky Athens is to have this Texas Roadhouse. We have been eating there for years but our visiting friends pointed out how friendly and professional the entire staff was. They met the owner and our waiter seemed to have esp because he kept our table full of drinks, laughs and more than a meal. The food is always good. The wait is always reasonable the portions require a doggie bag and the drinks convince you that you got your money's worth. This is the worst experience i have ever had at a Texas Roadhouse. Our server, julia, took our order and we only saw her once after that. Someone else delivered the food and then quickly left. The girl who delivered our food came back for a few seconds to check if everything was good then left again. Shortly into the meal my grandmother and i needed refills and we still couldn't get ahold of anyone. We had no clue where our waitress had gone. She then returns at the end to give us our bill after waiting other tables around us skipping us over each time.
