The owner conveyed this a woman owned and woman led bookstore. She also said some of their key bookstore tenets was inclusion, intersectionality, and authenticity. A total of 5 authors shared their thoughts on becoming authors, challenges and opportunities. The authors discussed different genres of books - children books, sci-fi, romance, poems and biographies. One author shared some thought-provoking messages: "You don't what you think until you see what you say. Words were currency and powerful." She also said her mother never asked her how her day was but instead what questions did you ask in class. She indicated these questions provoked deeper conversations. This was a great event...

At one point, I watched Romen handle a situation so smoothly that I genuinely thought, "This man has either worked in customer service for 40 years or has survived something absolutely unimaginable."
