Sad review as may be their last, 1/4 is set to be their last day of being open for business. I…read morealways forgot this place was here, it's super convenient to us but the location was easily forgettable as it wasn't really visible from 79. Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

Service was good, and the ambiance was fun. Lots of sports on the multiple tv screens. It was cooked well, if a little too much breading for my taste. The chips were really good. The tartar sauce was different than I am used to, a little runny and pink tinged, but it was good. The mushy peas were yummy and added an authenticity to the dish. I didn't really use the curry sauce that also came with the dish. To me it doesn't go with fish or chips. I did taste it, and the flavor was great.

Once the kitchen closed at the Rosewood Social Club, we went over to Nickel City for some food…read more Fortunately, most bars in Austin don't require a cover charge. My Yelp friend struck up an energetic conversation about Australia and New Zealand with two out of town guests. It turns out Nickel City is considered a must-do activity when visiting Austin, and I've even seen it listed as a tourist attraction. My friend's boyfriend and I talked about various Texas cities, the bar itself, and details about East Austin. The bartender was making faces at the fur baby, causing its ears to perk up...there seems to be a playful love-hate dynamic between them, especially since the bartender gave the pet some treats. Although the bar was busy, it wasn't too loud; it was easy to hear people talk without any trouble. I've now experienced Nickel City both during the day and at night.

I have to say, I did not have insane expectations for this place, but i'd heard good things. And,…read morewell, it was better than expected. I had a solo evening while on vacation with family, as my parents had dinner with friends. I had just walked over from Cuantos Tacos (which, go there, delicious), and planned on being here for maybe two drinks. Welp, lets just say I ended up sitting at the bar drinking and taking in the environment for 3-4 hours. As you'll see in the photos, I got suckered into a frozen drink (whip-it-good) and the Miami Vice. I also had a beer and some whiskey (not photographed). I had a great time, some people ended up talking to me throughout the time sitting at the bar, bartenders were nice even as the shift changed (or one bartender went on break for a long time). Either way, when i'm back in Austin, this will be in my rotation. I can see this place becoming insanely hectic on a friday or saturday evening, but that wouldnt be my jam. On a weds at 6pm-10pm, it was great.

I went to Topgolf for the first time last weekend and it did not disappoint! I was pretty nervous…read moreat first, because I've never picked up a golf club at all but I actually caught on pretty quickly and playing in a group is super fun. Their food selection was great. Their alcoholic beverages were pretty watered down and expensive which can be a good or a bad thing depending on preference but I am a very once in a blue moon drinker and even I wondered if I got the right drink lol. I absolutely would do this again with a group of friends or family. It's definitely family friendly as well. TIP: it is VERY loud the entire time. Very young kids may not be able to handle the environment as well as older kiddos.

They put us next to each other in a bay. They greeted all the moms with roses and it was very very kind. I can't speak enough about how kind everybody was when we first entered topgolf. When we got our bays on the first floor #109 & #110 our server was very kind but soon became very hard to find- she was at the table directly next to us and would never stop to ask if we needed help. It was very hard to nail her down. We didn't get waters our entire time there until the very end. I don't know if these establishments are individually owned franchisees but the food here was absolutely horrific. It seemed like it was warmed up chicken in the microwave. The drinks were horrible. We ordered a long iced tea and I'm pretty sure the bartender made it with mixers only with no alcohol, which is irritating. I actually watched him make it and I asked him if it was a premixed drink and he said no it was just sweet-and-sour and cola and I go but there's alcohol in this correct and he goes. Oh yeah sure... Pretty sure there was nothing in it It's pretty sad because we have visited Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas topgolf and they are all absolutely phenomenal. Even their menu seems different. The food quality seems way better. This place isn't cheap and they need to be working on their customer service big-time and their servers and their quality of food and drinks.
