I purchased a gift card for a local relative at Standard in Vaughan after seeing great reviews on…read moreYelp. Purchasing the gift card was easy on-line and included a message from me so she knew who sent it. The card was delivered electronically to her. I received feedback that she loved her meal and that the service was impeccable. She said the restaurant was elegant and the food was presented beautifully. She said the experience was special and that she would be going back. I appreciate having the opportunity to make someone's day with a simple gift card. The Standard on Vaughan delivered and lived up to the Yelp reviews.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The worst service ever. My husband and I came in at…read morenoon looking forward to having brunch. When we arrived the restaurant was pretty empty. Besides my husand and I, there was one other party seated in the dining area. We were seated at the table pretty prompt and got our water and that was the extent of the service we got. It took the waitress 10 mins to take our order and another 20 mins to get a drink from the bar that my husband ordered,, why it took so long, no clue as there were only 3 people at the bar. After we placed our orders, 2 other groups came in and were seated and their order was taken almost immediately. Within 15 mins of them ordering, their food arrived and one by one the party that placed their order after us all got their food, while my husband and waited for close to an hour. The excuse we received was there was a glitch in the device used to take the order. How that impacts us not getting our food while others did, go figure. Extremely disappointed in this place and it's service. You have lost a local customer.

The reincarnation of ACTION PARK is in Leander, TX. This place isn't a bar--it's a live-action…read more"choose your own injury" experience. Or if ur up for it - you can play "who can spot the most things out of plumb?" You don't just grab a drink, you embark on a quest. How will you injure yourself first at this bar / construction site. Let's talk about the playground--because yes, there's a playground. Nothing says "relaxing night out" like cracked slide equipment that looks like it's one enthusiastic kid (or adult, no judgment) away from becoming a physics lesson. Add in a generous sprinkling of rusty nails and broken glass on the play truck and you've got yourself a full nostalgia-meets-tetanus situation. And then there's the legendary pergola: beams casually chilling in what appear to be old buckets, held together by vibes, hope, and whatever higher power oversees questionable DIY projects. It's less "shade structure" and more "structural suggestion." Bonus points: there are plenty of places to smoke--like, plenty. If you've ever thought, "I wish I could light up while contemplating my life choices next to a semi-stable wooden structure," this is your moment. Honestly, it's kind of impressive. Charmingly unpolished. But impressive in the way a shopping cart going downhill unattended is impressive--you can't look away. Come for the drinks, stay because you're carefully plotting your exit route.

Great spot for drinks, country dancing, and a little pool sharking, if that's what you're into!…read more We came here for the Hunter's Ball and had a good time, but I was a little disappointed to learn that it was going to be a DJ, instead of a live band. Had some drinks, played some pool, and entered the gun raffle. They have a great dance floor, but there weren't too many single guys to dance with by 9PM...and I asked a lot of guys if they could dance, and they looked like deer in headlights...so we ended up leaving to hit another dancehall. I think there was a big group having a birthday party, so it was a lot of people, but not a lot of dancers. I'd come back here when I want to get out of my small town, but plan to stay late and see who shows up!

Latino musicnight last night was a true disappointment. Owner/DJ/@pardners stating that something…read more"isn't racist" does not negate the intent or the impact it may have had. Repeating that it wasn't racist and defending that behavior doesn't make it acceptable -- it only serves to dismiss legitimate concerns and brush them aside. By definition, racism involves treating someone unfairly, excluding, harassing, or demeaning them based on their race or ethnicity. When the DJ used the phrase "your people," it was clearly exclusionary. When he said, "If I only play Latino music, then the others will leave," it positioned our presence as a problem and created a sense of unwelcome. The situation escalated further when our group was asked to leave -- not for being disruptive, but simply for disagreeing with the music -- while the DJ referred to us as "you and your fucking people." That is not only unprofessional, but also deeply offensive and humiliating. Even your comment about "staying in your own lane" implies exclusion. Why? Because we voiced our disagreement? Because we stood up for ourselves and asked to celebrate Latino culture on a night that was specifically promoted as Latino Night? You've suggested this issue only occurred because your regular DJ wasn't present, but this behavior reflects a broader, ongoing pattern. Regardless of who was in the DJ booth, the treatment of that group was inappropriate and inexcusable. Defending it -- and attempting to shift the narrative -- is deeply disappointing. And respectfully, claiming that you used your own money to promote Latino Night in an attempt to gain sympathy is out of touch. You own a large, well-established club. Investing in the promotion of your own events is a business expense -- not a personal sacrifice. If you'r going to promote a cultural night, you have a responsibility to respect and honor the community you're representing.
