She was warm, approachable, and genuinely pleasant to interact with and that's exactly the energy you want when making such an important decision. What really set EMILY apart was her depth of knowledge and her ability to truly listen. She didn't just hear what I was saying, she understood what I needed and matched me accordingly. She introduced me to Specs (now lovingly known as Staxx Benjamin) and honestly? He chose me! That perfect connection happened because EMILY was intuitive enough to make it possible. Since bringing Staxx home, EMILY has continued to show up for us. Her support and helpfulness didn't stop at adoption. She's been a resource and a reassurance every step of the way. Staxx and I are truly lucky to have her as a part of our Family! More adoption agencies need people like EMILY. She doesn't just place animals, she creates families. She is an absolute gem, and any shelter would be lucky to have her representing their mission. 10/10, without hesitation.

This establishment is a no kill shelter and they actually rescue these babies from being put down at different shelters. That to me is absolutely incredible! Keep up the great work. I loved the 2 acre land tour and explaining everything you do for these babies who need a forever home. The love, care and time is beautiful. I got to witness one of the cats being adopted today and got to congratulate the gentleman on his new pet. It was the sweetest thing! This shelter is very clean and they take the time to make sure it stays that way since some of the pets coming in could have health issues.

We were very…read morehappy with our experience at this small shelter that was attentive to us as soon as we walked into the space. After a long day of waiting on kittens in Austin proper and watching them all get adopted before we got a chance to see them (I say this in the most loving & happy way too), I told my partner we should try coming to Pflugerville and see what the cats there. We were VERY happy we did. From walking in to signing the paperwork for adoption our experience was positive and loving. The volunteer that cared for our cat then was super sweet to us and to our cat as she said her goodbyes to her when she found out we wanted to adopt her. The volunteer took great care of packing our cat in the carrier and even gave us the blanket, a few cat toys, and her cat brush in a nice bag with other goodies, food, and even supplements from Tomilson's Pet Store (a great Austin pet store). We loved the sweet care and transparency around our adoption. Because we adopted a senior cat our adoption fees were waived and the health report the shelter provided to us was informative for us on determining what kind of care we would expect when we adopted her. I really appreciated the transparency from the staff about our adoption. They were professional and were very kind and patient with us on all our questions around our new loving cat. What a great success story it has been for us in adopting Dusty. She was a surrender from her previous owner but now is in our loving home and receives all the treats and wet food she wants in her senior days. Thank you to the staff and kindness of those we met and will not forget at this shelter. We appreciate your care and giving us an opportunity to love her forever.

The HOA would require an owner to get rid of a dog, who is a disturbance, but does nothing about a vicious dog. I would not want to see a person lose their beloved dog, but if someone would address the issue and perhaps, give them a warning, the owner would ensure that the dog behaves better. After speaking with 311, I was informed that they could send the owner brochures on leash laws, since my dog was not bitten. That just doesn't seem to suffice and I implied that. Then, it was mentioned that an officer could go out to speak with the owner. I don't feel confident that this will be addressed. I Pray that this dog doesn't viciously attack another dog or person to the point where it is more detrimental. It seems the dog and his owner are being given a pass because my dog was viciously attacked without being bitten and the owner tried to remove her dog, after the attack. The owner should have removed her dog immediately, when I first asked her to get her dog. I believe that she felt like the course was clear because her dog started off just sniffing my dogs, before viciously attacking my dogs. Just sending leash laws without someone addressing this issue will result in a repeated attack. The dog clearly needs to be trained. Otherwise, this goes across as being acceptable.

My appointment was scheduled at 9:40, got there at 9:42 and was incorrectly told "your appointment was at 9:30, we can't see you today we're understaffed." I show the email from their own website that says "appt from 9:40 to 10:10." They didn't care and still told me there was no space for my dog to be seen. Even though my appointment was correct and there was still time on the slot. If they give you 30 minutes per appointment, even WITH their mistake there was still around 15 minutes left where they could've seen my dog. So, it makes no sense to say, "the doctor is busy now, she can't see you anymore." When she should've been seeing my dog during that time, so busy with what? My guess is they accepted someone before my appointment and lied to me, they didn't want to work and just lied about the schedule or are just careless which makes them untrustworthy. Don't waste your time here. Rude and unprofessional.

I have taken animals severely ill to her and I have had animals that just needed vaccinations. She is best diagnostician vet I have ever experienced. Once in awhile out of availability I have had to use other vets for emergency situations and her care is always just a level above others. She is the very best. Example: I had a dog suffering from ehrlichia. The emergency vet said she scratched her eye. That wasn't the case she was losing her vision to the progression of the disease. Dr. Valle figured it out. Sadly it was too late to save her vision and when Dr. Valle removed her eyes she was so helpful in keeping her expressions despite losing her eyes. I believe Dr. Valle saved her life. Recently I had to euthanize one of my beloved pets and she made it as easy as it could be. He was suffering from kidney disease. The best thing to do was to let him go. If you haven't been through this process then you won't know a good vet from a bad one. I am older so I have been through this process let's say a few times. Pfenning staff put me in a room where I could say good-bye. They took him away to do the Cath so the process would be smooth and believe me you want it to be smooth. I had a vet one time who "missed" the vein and my poor animal went screaming into the next life. It happens but you don't want it to believe me. Not with Dr. Valle, she came in and ask if I was ready, I said yes, she administered the relaxation shot I'll call it where they go limp and then the one that stops their heart. It is never easy to let go but it helps when you have a caring vet clinic around you. I just want the least stress on the animal. I always want what is best for the suffering animal and I believe Dr. Valle does as well. I bet I have taken 10animals to her over the years. I have a lot of critters. Cats and dogs. I have never had a negative experience with her or her staff and most of them I have known awhile too. Note: I have a cat that is the devil when he goes to the vet. Dr. Valle handles him with the best of ease. Yes she has to grab him and manhandle him a little but that is what it takes sometimes. I sure didn't want to mess with him while he was in this state. But Dr. Valle is like I got him. No problem.

I'm sharing this as a genuine concern for animal welfare and transparency…read more I've noticed this individual adopting animals from local shelters while simultaneously requesting donations and then selling the animals at retail-level prices. That raises serious ethical questions. Animal shelters exist to place pets into safe, permanent homes--not to supply inventory for resale. If money is being exchanged beyond standard adoption fees, the public deserves clarity on where funds are going and whether shelters are aware. Donations should support care, vetting, and rescue efforts--not personal profit. If this is a legitimate rescue operation, transparency, nonprofit status, and itemized use of funds should be clearly provided. Otherwise, this feels misleading to donors and unfair to families who adopt in good faith. I hope proper oversight is in place to protect the animals and the community.Donations solicited under the appearance of animal rescue while animals are sold at retail prices.

No one ever wants the phone call telling them that their dog is dying. My sweet boy, Diesel, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and hearing that there was nothing more we could do was one of the hardest moments of my life. Even in that heartbreaking conversation, Dr. Mitchell met me with incredible compassion. When I asked if I could bring Diesel home for one last night together before saying goodbye the next morning, he understood how important that time was to me. I'll always be thankful for that grace. Losing a pet is devastating. You know they'll never live forever, but nothing truly prepares you for the day you have to let them go. Throughout the entire process, I never felt alone. Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Morehead, and the entire team treated Diesel with dignity, kindness, and genuine love. They answered every question, never rushed me, and helped me make the hardest decision I've ever had to make. What stands out most about this clinic is that they care. They celebrate the good days with you, and they walk through the hardest days with you too. You can tell they became veterinarians because they love animals and the people who love them. They are thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly compassionate. Diesel was my best friend. We navigated my twenties together, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him.
