We love Dr Silverberg and his team! I actually transferred to TFC after being with another fertility clinic in town and feeling like they weren't getting to the root cause of my fertility issues. Transferring to TFC was the best decision we ever made. Dr Silverberg not only helped us conceive our baby boy through IVF, but he also discovered I was diabetic. Dr Silverberg is there for his patients, and he also got to the root cause of my miscarriages and after two procedures and the removal of all the polyps, I was finally able to have a successful pregnancy. I honestly wasn't sure we'd be able to have a baby until I met Dr. Silverberg. We will always be grateful to Dr. Silverberg and his team for helping us make our dream a reality. Our baby boy was born this fall! I can't tell you the amount of times I've emailed and called Dr. S's team with a billion questions, and they always met me with patience and compassion. Be sure to ask questions and voice any symptoms or concerns that you have at your appointments, because sometimes visits can go fast. If you forget, simply leave a message for the nurse line, and they will get back to you. After sharing with Dr S's team where I was mentally and physically with the IVF process, the team worked with me to find an IVF transfer protocol that met me where I was. IVF in general can be very mentally and physically draining, so be sure to let the team know how you're feeling if it becomes too much. I also had the privilege of having a couple of covering visits by Dr. Hansard and Dr Vaughn, who were excellent! I was met with compassion and patience at the visits with both of them. IMO these doctors are definitely worth the wait time. That's how you know they spend time with their patients and THEY CARE. Any great doctor's office typically has a wait time. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone struggling with infertility. The one learning curve I did have transferring from another clinic was figuring out how contacting the nurse team and doctor worked. At the last clinic, I was able to message them directly in a portal. At this clinic, you have to call and pick the correct extension depending on the day and time. So when you meet with your nurse on the first day, make sure you ask them the proper procedure for that and make sure you understand it. Once you've figured that out, it's pretty straightforward. Dr S's nurse team is stellar, and they are really on top of things. If only every doctor's office had a team like that! They have spoiled me with how good they are! Another thing is to stay on top of is the billing with the billing dept since appointments and procedures happen frequently. That's the one thing I wish I was more on top of and kept better track of, especially in the beginning of the journey. read more

Re: IUI We had two failed cycles of IUI. No one told me during the first cycle not to take a bath after insemination as the water can wash out the sperm. I went home immediately after the first IUI to relax and took a hot bath. The procedure was a wash. Re: Laparoscopy Dr. Silverberg is the only surgeon I trust to perform a laparoscopy. He successfully lasered off mild endometriosis. My incision scar was negligible. Re: IVF We had two failed cycles of egg retrievals and fertilization. Your probability increases if you freeze your eggs before age 43. Re: Embryo Adoption We paid $8500 for two embryos. Legally, it's not an adoption because no lawyers were involved. It's an embryo donation. They are leftover embryos from other peoples' IVF cycles. I.e. Other couples may have a batch of six good embryos, but only want two children. After both of their children are born, they have the choice of either killing the remaining embryos, donating, or freezing indefinitely. The embryos were not fertilized using my eggs nor my husband's sperm. The first embryo transfer didn't implant but the second embryo transfer did after Dr. Silverberg put me on steroids. We paid an additional $1500 for the second embryo transfer procedure. The cutoff for an embryo transfer is age 55. All of the adoptions are closed. Dr. Silverberg was kind and encouraging from when we started with IUI to finishing with embryo adoption. This review is for Dr. Sarah Gavrizi and her attentive nursing care team, mainly McKenna and Jamie. If you're in need of a fertility doctor who has expertise, great attention to detail, empathy, and ultimately, a belief in patient centered care -- then you must see Dr. Gavrizi. I cannot have imagined ANYONE else being the guiding physician on my path to motherhood! There can be a lot of unknown with fertility journeys, and I honestly never felt overwhelmed or emotionally drained and that is because Dr. Gavrizi and her team filled in all of the gaps. She is SO thorough, she made sure she understood what my goals were and she accounted for everything we needed to do to achieve my goals. I believe her plan of action, coupled with all of the interventions and lifestyle changes I implemented (and a number of other baseline factors), is what led to a positive pregnancy on my first IUI. She saw me through the first 3 months of my pregnancy, and then transferred care to my OBGYN who will deliver my baby in a few short months! My experience with Texas Fertility Center staff at Mopac was pleasant and professional, they made billing a breeze and followed all of my wishes regarding billing of the two insurances that I have (BCBS and Progyny). I was never in the dark about what charges to expect and everything was clearly communicated to me. No "hidden surprises", like I had read about with other practices. The Mopac office is conveniently located right off the highway. I found that parking could get full in the mornings, so arrive a little early to look for a parking spot. I always had luck finding a spot on one of the nearby rooftops. To Texas Fertility: You have a gem in Dr. Gavrizi and are so fortunate to have her. I will have to bite my tongue about the strong side eye I have for the ranting Silverberg take down review that hilariously proceeds my following strong recommendation for him and just stick to my experience. I can't begin to describe the difference in care I received with TFC and Dr. Silverberg compared to the mishandling I experienced with a small boutique clinic (Fora - stay away!) that I had transferred from... The quality of the nurse team, the responsiveness, the thorough monitoring, the expertise and skill set of Dr. Silverberg and moreover - the results - were a night and day difference. TFC/Silverberg kept a finger on the pulse of my lab work and made adjustments along the way to ensure the best results. My former clinic didn't even run ANY labs/blood work after the initial ER cycle (what?!). My former clinic told me I could never give more than 4 eggs in a ER, Silverberg got 8 on his first and only cycle, because it also yielded an unexpected euploid. Dr. Silverberg is a personable, straight shooting, metrics/results driven expert RE with 30+ years of experience who I found to be delightful, charming and fun to engage with (but I could see how his affect could make him not a match for a more sensitive or vulnerable person that wants a lot of extra hand holding - this wasn't me). Every time I tried to show my gratitude for his care and my confidence in him as my doctor, he was quite humble and tried to deflect the praise or success back to me and the work I/my body was doing. He made sure every base was covered, every procedure that could improve my chances of implantation were undertaken, every test that could fine tune and individualize the process for my embryo transfer was completed in advance of my transfer. My single unexpected euploid embryo that came from my best egg retrieval ever (thanks to TFC/Silverberg) was a successful transfer due to the thoroughness of this doctor and his team. I had 2 phone consultations with Dr. Silverberg - one on 5.12.23 and one on 1.24.24, today. I also had a phone consultation with Dr. Propst, another doctor at TFC, in October 2023. For my 1st phone consultation, Dr. Silverberg answered all my questions. I was looking for a doctor before moving to ATX. Today's consult was Dr. Silverberg judging me and chastising me because of his fragile ego. He told me he didn't like that I've "jumped around" with doctors and that it "never ends well." Absolutely no idea what he was talking about. After my research - I had decided on Dr. Prokai with Aspire; however, I wanted to ask Dr. Silverberg about his lab, hence the 2nd consult before our final decision. We planned to do IVF in January 2024 (this month) and when we went to schedule a consultation with Dr. Silverberg, he was unavailable until January 24th (today). However, Dr. Prokai was available immediately and we already did a round with him, finishing on January 18th. I guess Dr. Silverberg didn't like that I already did a round with someone in Austin before TFC either. Okay, so now that the background has been established, I'd like to tell the ladies reading this about my experience with fertility doctors. Do your research and if a doctor, like Dr. Silverberg, gives you a hard time for merely talking to other doctors, THAT IS A MAJOR RED FLAG. You shouldn't be made to feel bad about it. For a doctor to get irritated because a woman wants to talk to multiple doctors and make a good decision before she not only spends $20K+ on 1 round of IVF but also injects herself with hormones for 2 weeks and goes through emotional and physical stress for a small percentage chance of getting any eggs retrieved/fertilized, making it to blast, being genetically viable, transferring successfully, and carrying a baby to full term is BULLSHIT. If there are 5+ doctors at one fertility clinic (like TFC) and you can only talk to 1 of them and not the other 4 because of some arbitrary reason the clinic has -- RUN! According to Dr. Silverberg, it was a privilege that I got 2 chances to talk with him and 1 chance to talk with Dr. Propst. I had the same issue with a high-volume clinic in Dallas where they were rude to me and wouldn't let me talk to the other doctors. Smaller clinics have no issues. Let me say this for the people in the back - it is not anyone's problem that YOU have an issue with patients talking to other doctors within your clinic or switching doctors outside of your clinic. IT IS OUR RIGHT to shop around fertility clinics/doctors and NO ONE should chastise you as Dr. Silverberg did to me today for exploring options before deciding on this service, especially such an expensive and life-altering one. The fact that Dr. Silverberg told me at the start of the call to stick with Dr. Prokai at Aspire confirms that I made the right decision. For a doctor to be so arrogant to a potential patient shows that he sees himself as a God and superior to others and that he is making so much money, he doesn't need the headache from one who does her homework and reads research papers. Also, my consultation was supposed to start at 3:00 pm and he called me at 3:32 pm and in less than 3 minutes told me that I'm no longer able to see any doctors at TFC. Honestly, what a relief! That made my decision SO much easier. The only reason I wanted to talk to him was to find out more about his lab, I couldn't care less for him as my fertility doctor due to his abhorrent bedside manner and talking about fertility as a business and his "investors." Too many red flags here. If you made it this far, my recommendation is DO NOT go here if you care for personalized service and normal interactions. This is a factory where they see you as a number and dehumanize and disassociate themselves from real emotions. I want to share a cautionary experience regarding Dr. Hansard and TFC. During my gestational carrier journey, I encountered instances of shaming, dehumanization, and potential medical incompetence. Dr. Hansard dismissed my severe reaction to hCG injections, and a procedure left me anxious about potential infection due to unsterile tools. A male doctor, unrequested, administered an uncomfortable pelvic exam, and made inappropriate comments. Following a failed IVF transfer, Dr. Hansard suggested weight-loss shots, neglecting my history of body dysmorphia and eating disorders, and despite my healthy record. this experience caused profound emotional pain and estrangement from my family. Be careful if you choose to work with this fertility clinic. I spent an enormous amount of time communicating with one of the employees before I went in for my first appt, to try and coordinate the initial consultation on the same day as my baseline ultrasound. I was told I wouldn't have to pay $220 for the consult plus $220 for the ultrasound if it was the same day - just one $220 fee. Well low and behold when I went to check out, after delaying my appt for months to time it just right, I was charged over $400 (for a visit that was less than 30 minutes) despite my emails stating otherwise. This place only cares about the money they bring in and will not work with you to find a resolution. Aside from the financial side, they will also change your appt location without even asking you if that works for you. If driving to Austin when you planned on going to Round Rock doesn't work for you, you'll lose your appt. read more

I've never had a worse "care" experience with a healthcare provider. I am not someone who writes reviews often, but I honestly feel that I need to warn future patients about TFC. I went to Dr. Probst for egg freezing after being referred to TFC by a friend of mine. From the first appointment, I felt like I was interacting with a business vs. a doctor's office. Dr. Probst spent very little time with me and seemed annoyed when I pushed for more conversation. He also answered some of my questions with contradicting information from what is on their website. For example, I asked if I would have a stronger change of success with freezing eggs vs. embryos, and he said no. On the website, it says the opposite. I should have stopped after the first appointment, but the reviews were good and I figured the actual medical process would be professional. WRONG. The paperwork they sent me was all of the place and confusing - I'm not sure why they can't consolidate and digitize everything. They also gave me a big stack of forms to bring to the lab to get tests done - without explaining which tests I needed when. This meant I got to the lab and was completely confused. When I tried calling the office to get clarity, no one answered or got back to me (which became the norm). Everything got SO MUCH WORSE when I started with the medication. They had me order all of the shots directly from the pharmacy and didn't spent any time with me to explain how to use the shots or answer questions. when I tried calling the "on-call nurse," she didn't answer. It was terrifying! When I told Dr. Probst about my experience, he smirked. When it became time for surgery, I arrived to the surgery center and they had lost my paperwork so I had to fill it out again. I could honestly go on and on about my terrible experience, but the moral of the story is: AVOID TFC AT ALL COSTS. read more

Regardless of how our journey with infertility ends, Doctor Propst has been so encouraging. We've been trying after my surgery to unblock my tubes since July. He discovered this along with a septum after numerous doctors just shrugged and blamed PCOS. We've gotten pregnant once. It ended in a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage), but once Dr Propst saw what was going to happen, he called me personally. He reassured me it's a common thing and not to worry. This was followed by an email from his nurse, Cynthia, expressing her condolences. He genuinely cares. We didn't get pregnant this time after confirmation of ovulating, and we could clearly see that he was a bummed about it as we were, but it's part of the process! Not every egg is a good egg. Thankfully, Dr Propst is a good egg, and he's going to help us catch ours! We're looking forward to continue our journey with Dr Propst. I honestly can't say I've seen a more caring doctor in my life with PCOS. I wish more were like him. read more

Going to TFC has been an absolute pleasure.  Their office staff is knowledgable, polite, welcoming, and friendly.  They are always willing to help and go above and beyond.  My husband and I decided to see Dr. Kaylen Silverberg, and we are so glad we did.  Although Dr. Silverberg's specialty is fertility, he is well versed in all aspects of medicine.  It is clear that he stays up to date with all of the latest in medicine, and performs research himself.  We were recommended by multiple other physicians in Austin to see him, many saying he is the best.  He is one of the smartest and most knowledgeable doctors I have ever had the pleasure of seeing.   The thing we appreciate the most about Dr. Silverberg is that he takes the time to get to know his patients.  We are not just another number or statistic to him.  He genuinely cares about us and our success.  He always takes the time to answer any questions, and explain any procedures, without making you feel rushed.  It is clear he is passionate about fertility and helping families.  He does not try to recommend procedures or treatments just to make money, in fact, he is very aware of the costs of treatment and is sensitive to the cost every step of the way.  He often presents different options and costs, with success rates of each, and leaves the decision to the patient.  I personally appreciate his sense of humor.  He knows when to make me laugh when we are faced with bad news, or when things are not going our way.  That being said, he is always positive and will always do everything he can to make you successful.   He is one of the last great doctors around who truly epitomizes the profession by serving his patients and advancing treatment and science, rather than trying to line his pockets.  My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him during our treatment, and consider him not only our doctor but a friend. read more

Could not recommend Texas Fertility Center more. My husband and I saw Dr. Silverberg after extensively researching clinics and providers. Our research pointed us to him because he is the top in his field. Dr. Silverberg knows all things fertility and is the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctor I have ever seen. He provides the best medical care possible in order to make your dreams of having a family come true. His nursing team is also the best! Throughout my care, I have seen all of the different doctors at TFC and they have all been so caring and committed to helping my husband and I. They all truly go above and beyond on patient care. You cannot go wrong with any of them. I also see there are a couple of reviews about not being able to speak to a person when you call their office. Typically when you call, you need to leave a voicemail. However, our calls were ALWAYS returned promptly. Depending on urgency, they were returned within minutes or hours, and always the same day. Also, if it truly is an emergency, there is an emergency line that you have access to. Their phone system is not an issue. read more

I have full confidence in Dr. Silverberg, that he is willing to do the right thing for the patient, and not just the easy fix. My wife and I worked with Dr. Silverberg for around six months to get pregnant. All along the way he would diagnose and give his medical recommendations that were honest and calculated. We started our journey thinking IVF was the only option, but because of Dr. Silverberg's willingness to attempt to save my wife's fallopian tube, and laser skills, we ended up with a naturally conceived twins. New patients Dr. Silverberg will run late, please understand that Dr. Silverberg is always willing to help when complications arise, and they will, so his scheduling inevitably gets thrown off. He will be late to appointments, but it's because he's helping someone's with an unforeseen issue. The office and Dr. Silverberg try and plan things, but inevitably fertility patients are unpredictable, and the office does a wonderful job of accommodating the unexpected. The offices of Texas fertility are some of the best the medical world has ever seen, seriously the Samsung Sonogram machines blow our obgyn's ancient GE ultrasound machines out of the water. The nurses and billing staff are very good. Put your future children in Dr. Silverberg and Texas Fertilities care it's the best practice for fertility. read more

Struggling with infertility is no easy journey but they not only stayed positive and solutions oriented throughout the process, but also were successful! I was sad when I "graduated" from TFC because I had such a wonderful experience and wished they could have seen me throughout my pregnancy. I cannot recommend Texas Fertility enough! My husband and I had been trying to conceive for awhile when we started our journey at Texas Fertility. Dr. Silverberg was so knowledgeable, kind and has a great bedside manner. He took something that can be so stressful and made it manageable. Dr. Silverberg's nurses are also so friendly and helpful! My husband and I didn't think we would ever do IVF, but with the team at Texas Fertility we were confident in choosing to move forward. Dr. Silverberg made it his mission to get IVF to work for us and on the third transfer it did! I just wish we could continue going there as I was sad to leave the remarkable staff! Dr. Kaylen Silverberg is hands down, the best. We were seeing Dr. Amanda Skillern for two rounds of what was potentially unnecessary IVF treatments (two egg retrievals and 3 implantations). After our results were only getting worse, we decided to switch and found Dr. Silverberg through researching and reading reviews. He successfully diagnosed endometriosis, did the surgery, and was thoughtful enough to do a hysteroscopy while I was already under anesthesia and found I had several polyps in my uterus. Our last doctor was completely un-concerned with getting to the root of our infertility. We were an open checkbook to her. With Dr. Silverberg it was the complete opposite. He even told us after the surgery to try naturally for as long as we felt comfortable, which we've been doing happily! He was not pushy at all, answered all of our questions no matter how silly and was so genuinely empathetic toward what we had gone through. It was like night and day compared to our past experience with Skillern. I was honestly hesitant to see a male doctor, I thought I would be more comfortable with a woman but I was completely wrong. He took his time with us, listened to us, asked a lot of questions and was 100% in our corner. It was obvious very quickly that he was investigating and trying to figure out what was happening to us instead of just blindly signing us up for the most expensive treatments. We spent more time with him in that month leading up to and including the surgery than Dr. Skillern had in the year and a half we were under her "care". If you're considering going with anyone else - do yourself a solid and just schedule a consult with Dr. Silverberg. He is fantastic, has a great facility with a team of people that know what they're doing. Dr. Skillern's only saving grace is two staff members - Mel and Rikki, who are wonderful humans, but other than that, it was the worst experience of my life. Dr. Silverberg on the other hand is absolutely amazing. We've been trying naturally and been able to feel normal again thanks to him for the past few months. Even though we've not gotten pregnant yet, my husband and I feel so much more at ease knowing that if we need further treatment, we're actually with a fantastic and ethical doctor who means the oath he took to do no harm. Dr. Silverberg was recommended to me by a friend who had a great and successful experience under his care. After having a disappointing and sub par experience with Dr. Natalie Crawford at Austin Fertility Institute, I decided to take my friend's recommendation to see Dr. Silverberg. Although I ultimately did not need help conceiving, I needed help with close monitoring of my hormones and a massive subchorionic hematoma in order to maintain my pregnancy. Dr. Silverberg provided exceptional care and has a great personality. I am a medical professional as well and have high standards for the care I receive ... I had zero qualms with how Dr. Silverberg practiced patient care. The office and medical staff were all very helpful, professional, and reliable in meeting all aspects of my needs. There was usually a 5-10 minute wait to get called from the lobby and put into an exam room-- I would wait 45min to 1.5hr when I was a patient of Dr. Natalie Crawford. Hands down, I would choose Texas Fertility Center and Dr. Silverberg over and over again to provide my fertility/initial OB care. read more

Great experience with TFC and Dr. Vaughn. He was patient and answered all of our questions even though I know he had a lot of other patients waiting to be seen. When he is in the room with you, you can tell that his focus is entirely on you and your wife's needs. His office staff are always available and accommodating to our questions and concerns. We had to utilize their services on a Saturday and they were so pleasant and understanding. Would use them again in a heartbeat (Hopefully won't need to). I cannot recommend Dr Silverberg enough, after being mis-diagnosed by other fertility clinics I did my own research and booked an appt with Dr Silverberg. Uterine abnormalities are easily wrongly diagnosed and I had other specialists tell me it wasn't fixable. Within a few weeks of meeting him I was finally going into surgery to remove a large uterine septum which typically takes 2 surgeries to fully remove, which other RE's were not comfortable to do. Dr Silverberg removed the septum in one surgery and a month later it had healed completely, I am now 31 weeks pregnant. I know I wouldn't have made it this far if I had chosen a different RE to do my surgery. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Lisa Hansard. She is very timely (never had to wait on her), warm and friendly, but most importantly; an expert in her field. She listened to my concerns and gave me solid research-based reasons for every decision she made. I always left the room feeling very confident in our plan moving forward. There was never a question of "where do we go from here?" Dr. Hansard always had a plan. We are currently in the 2nd trimester with a little miracle baby thanks her and her team at TFC. With infertility (especially unexplained- like us) there isn't always a "quick fix" but if you stick with Dr. Hansard, she will be just as determined as you are to achieve a pregnancy. read more

I have a friend who had luck getting her first pregnancy at TFC with the IUI, in her mid thirties. She was happy with and recommended Dr. V. to me. Interestingly, she moved to another state, and went on to have two more children, naturally. All healthy. But, for her first pregnancy, she'd been stressed and put a lot of pressure on herself to have a baby, ASAP. Another friend, mid-30s, in Georgia, also stressed about getting pregnant, spent over close to $80K trying to get pregnant with fertility treatments. BTW, when she had amniocentesis, her doctor warned her that one of her twins had Down's syndrome. She didn't want to terminate the pregnancy. She ended up having two, healthy intelligent teens, now in their teens. Then, within a year after finally conceiving and having twins, she got pregnant, naturally. I got married in my late 30s, so, decided on going to TFC, because of my friend's recommendation about Dr. V. Knowing what I do, today, I would have read Dr. Weston A. Price first. And, made sure that my husband and I were getting optimal nutrition - nutrient dense nutrition of traditional diets and cultures. Also, supplements. I realize now that my husband and I were eating a poor diet for being fertile. Dr. V. gave me little to no nutritional guidance, and told me it was fine to keep drinking diet sodas, when I asked. Doctors are trained very little in nutrition, if at all. Overall, I found TFC cold and abrupt. I realize it's a business, and time is money. But, they took that a bit too far. Especially, with how much $$$ they make. I got pregnant from the IUI. But, I was in severe pain. I'd call up, and the office would tell me to take a Tylenol. Long story short, I had an ectopic pregnancy. It was finally discovered after about 6 weeks. Dr. V. finally told me to come into the office. Again dismissive, he insisted that I likely had an ovarian cyst. Because, he said I'd already had a "miscarriage". He said he'd do a laparoscopy. I was in so much pain that I could hardly walk. So, two assistants walked me to the hospital across the street for surgery, holding me up. When Dr. V. operated, he found that I was still pregnant. With an ectopic pregnancy. Although, my numbers were "low", the fetus was still growing in my fallopian tube. After surgery, I called Dr. V., because my mouth hurt, due to a cut from my oxygen mask during surgery. His dismissive reply was, "I don't work on that end". I was finally got treated by going to my dentist. He scrapped my infected mouth, and gave me an antiseptic mouth rinse. I had three pregnancies and miscarriages in two years, a TFC IUI (ectopic); natural pregnancy (ectopic); and a TFC IVF (miscarriage). I would recommend trying to find natural remedies first. When I was pregnant with the IUI, I read the notebook of materials, and saw how low the success rate was for women my age in her early 40s. If I'd know how low the success rate was, beforehand, I wouldn't have done the IUI. BTW, my cousin got pregnant at 46, naturally, after causally trying, stopping birth control in her mid-30s. She conceived during a month-long Mediterranean beach vacation with her workaholic, hardly ever home husband. They were both relaxed, together, and eating a lot of rich, healthy food. Additional advice is not drink any alcohol! BTW, fathers can also pass on fetal alcohol syndrome. Fortunately, their baby was born healthy, although, a little learning disabled. But, she is now going to a competitive college. My advice would be to first *READ DR. WESTON A. PRICE. And, to have BOTH parents eat a "traditional" Weston A. Price diet, and DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL, applies to BOTH parents. And to relax. read more

I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with the most amazing and caring doctor in Texas Fertility Center Dr. Thomas C. Vaughn. We did two IFV protocols with him and eventually a frozen transfer which was successful and we got our twins, our tested frozen embryo split in to to identical twins. Unfortunately I has a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks. I am so thankful that I had a chance to work with this doctor and his team. Dr. Vaughn is very knowledgeable and his bedside manner is incredible. The best day of my life was when we graduated from Dr. Vaughn's clinic and were on the way to a healthy pregnancy unfortunately God had other plans for us. I still have some embryos left and I will be working with this amazing doctor this year again. I am grateful forever that doctor helped me to get pregnant and be a mother to twin baby girls even this was only for 3 months, it was the happiest three months of my life. read more

KAYLEN SILVERBERG via the Texas Fertility Center, I am beyond overjoyed that I am about 25 weeks along carrying a beautiful and healthy baby girl who is due to arrive in March 2017. Dr. Silverberg is phenomenal! To meet a doctor who is personable, fun-spirited, witty, smart and truly cares about you and your fertility journey is remarkable. My husband and I are so pleased to have met him and received his care. We were captivated with him at our very first visit and our trust grew as we continued along. I saw a couple other doctors during my treatment there (who were great), but my favorite and most comfortable times was when I was in the hands of Dr. Silverberg. My husband and I were both in our late thirties when we started at TFC due to not having conceived in our first two years of marriage. We experienced a chemical pregnancy after only two cycles of clomid and now a succesful pregnancy where we conceived just about one year to the date that we walked into Dr. Silverberg's office. Over the year that we spent being treated, I took a total of 4 cycles of clomid and had one outpatient reproductive procedure where my uterus was all cleaned up to better prepare me for sustaining a pregnancy. We conceived 3 months following the procedure! Dr. Silverberg was so very happy for us and it was refreshing to experience that level of sincerity and connection with a medical professional. Although at times there was a bit longer of a wait than expected during some of our visits and there were a couple miscommunications when initially scheduling my procedure, none of that mattered due to the overall excellent service and quality care that we received from TFC and the perfect end result of being granted this absolute miracle! I am unsure how so many people can give this place 5 stars. My husband and I came in for a consultation and were completely disappointed. This place is a mill. They're here to collect your money and that's pretty much it. There is really no individual care here. If you think you're going to get to know your doctor and build a relationship figuring out your cycle and figuring out your issues your wrong. The doctors are simply there for the consults and anything surgery related.You're pretty much talking to a nurse the majority of the time. And don't think when your talking to that nurse you get any sort of privacy.. no they do it in the middle of the check out desk in front of 6-10 people nurses and other patients included. It was the most mortifying thing I have ever experienced. Infertility is a private issue I don't want to discuss my cycle and my medications in front of a crowd of people. Thankfully I managed to find an amazing doctor here in Austin that is there for you at every turn. He's attends every scan, talks you through your cycle, goes over your medications and most importantly builds that doctor patient relationship. If you've had a consult here and aren't sure about what just happened or aren't convinced this is the way it's supposed to be, trust me it's not. read more

According to the other Yelp reviewers, Texas Fertility Center is a godsend for childless couples who are trying to conceive. Great, I love that! I love it so much, that I tried to help some couple out there by being an egg donor for Texas Fertility Center. My experience was less than satisfactory. From the get-go, I was made to feel guilty about every little thing I had ever done in my past, including any sort of drinking. I felt like a criminal going in for drug testing, which I understand is necessary, but the process was completed with very little sensitivity. I was put on "the list" as a donor and within 6 weeks, I was called and told that someone had selected me and wanted to begin the donor process. I did everything that was asked of me, and every time I called to tell them I had begun my cycle, I was told that we would need to postpone the process another month due to the recipient's financial constraints. Yeah, it's an expensive process, but shouldn't the money be taken care of before you select a donor??? Finally, they told the recipient that they couldn't keep me off "the list" any longer and when she was ready financially, they could begin the process. So I go back onto "the list". Within another 6 weeks, I get a call from a new person at Texas Fertility (who failed to introduce herself, explain that she was new and she would be the person I dealt with from then on) and someone else has chosen me as a donor. Great! So, instead of doing what I had done for the last donor, which was call when I began my period, I had to go get a psychological evaluation. I understand that these people would prefer an egg from a woman who is mentally stable and not a drug-user or alcoholic, which I am not. I drive to the evaluation, spending my time and money to do so, sit there for two hours taking this outrageous test that is completely dated and far, far, far too long, only to get a call a few days later saying that there was something in my psych evaluation that was not previously mentioned in my application, and that I have been disqualified as a donor. No explanation, just I'm "disqualified", like I was trying to win a prize. Yes, egg donors can make a fair amount of money which is considered compensation for the 3 months of twice daily hormone injections, mandatory abstinence and allowing a doctor (who you don't meet prior) to go in vaginally to remove my genetic material for some other couple to raise and love as their own. Really, it's a pretty selfless thing to do, but the money would have been nice. Let me just say this, if I am not qualified (and I'm not tooting my own horn here, but I'm a pretty decent person) there is probably only 2% of the population out there who is qualified. If you are looking for an egg donor from Texas Fertility, GOOD LUCK. You might pick out the perfect girl, but Texas Fertility will deemed her "unsuitable". If you are looking to be a donor with Texas Fertility, I hope you have a better experience than I did, but don't expect any sort of gratitude, sensitivity or kindness. read more

Dr. Silverberg may be one of the best doctors I have ever consulted with. He immediately made me feel comfortable given the stressful circumstances. My concerns and fears were continuously given validation and explained thoroughly. After surgery he asked that we come back to see him if we were not pregnant in 3 months. Fortunately we were blessed to get pregnant the following month. As part of his on-going care procedure, we continued to see him for the next 5 weeks before he felt comfortable enough to pass me on to my regular OB. During those final 5 weeks he and his team were available to answer all of the many questions and concerns we had as first time parents. He treated us like individuals, and what felt like family, not just the next patients. Getting the okay to go to my regular OB was bittersweet. No need to look elsewhere, Dr. Silverberg and his team are excellent. read more

I have only good things to say about this place. I read the other reviews and I don't know if the doctors have read the reviews and made changes or what but I saw Dr. Hansard as my primary and also saw Dr. Vaughn for the IUI. From the very beginning, it was a wonderful experience. i never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor. The nurses were always available via phone if I had questions and would always get back to me same day with lab results. I am an older woman who had history of miscarriages but it didn't discourage my doctors at all for trying to get me pregnant. Dr. Hansard does have a dry sense of humor and is not warm and fuzzy but i wouldn't call her a bitch like one of the other reviewers did. She was always very nice, answered all of my questions, and extremely professional. Vaughn was also a great doctor. If you want the cool hip doctor who is going to make you laugh, then Dr. Vaughn is the doctor for you. And then I can't rave enough about Jennifer,my nurse. She was FABULOUS! She was so empathetic and when she had bad news for me.She genuinely seemed just as upset as I was. And then when she had good news for me, I could just hear the joy in her voice which made the news even better. I loved this place and their staff. If you want to get pregnant, then I would highly recommend this place. It takes some patience and following processes but eventually I became one of their success stories. read more

My husband and I unfortunately had a long bout with infertility, with more than three years of treatment. As soon as I went to TFC, though (from my OB's office), I knew I was in good hands. I started out with Dr. Burger, where we did IUIs and a round of IVF. When these didn't work, my husband got a new job that helped cover fertility, but it meant we had to switch doctors to Dr. Vaughn. I was upset about this, as Dr. Burger was incredibly compassionate; however, Dr. Vaughn turned out to be a great doctor -- incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and gave it to us straight. I would ask him, "What would you do in this situation?" and he would always say, "It's your decision -- but I would recommend XYZ." Or, "You would have the best chances with XYZ." He's also always available -- he loves his work and hardly ever takes time off (which is great for patients) except for Texas/OU weekend. Due to my advanced age and ovarian failure, we ended up going with anonymous donor eggs -- they have a comprehensive program that includes tons of testing of both the dad and the donor, so it excludes a lot of conditions, etc. The nurses for the donor program are also incredibly helpful and great -- Leanne and Billie. We had our baby boy five weeks ago and we have four highly viable embryos on ice, so we hope to have at least one more child. Throughout the entire process, they treated me well and outlined all my options. We tried several protocols and medications. I know that the women who have babies will give five stars, and those who don't will rate them low. There are many options for fertility -- in Houston, Colorado, San Antonio, and Portland, plus overseas. It all comes down to finding the right doctor for YOU in YOUR situation. In my case, it took awhile, but we got there, and I was happy to have TFC with me there every step of the way. read more

Unlike the other donor reviewers on here, I actually completed the entire donation process. The entire staff at the center was fabulous. The receptions, nurses, and assistants were always friendly and cheerful, and I felt safe throughout the process interacting consistently with my IVF Nurse - Billie - as well as Pam (who was a total sweetie). Dr. Burger was my primary doctor on this, and did nearly all my check-up appointments as well as the final retrieval procedure, and she was fabulous every day - gentle and cheerful and explaining everything to me as it happened. I wish she could be my regular gyno. However, I also got exams from both Dr. Hansard and Dr. Silverberg and they were both awesome as well. Does the process require time and effort from donors? Yes. Can parts of it be inconvenient? Certainly. But for me, once I told my bosses what I was doing it was easy for me to schedule appointments either early in the morning before work or during a late lunch break, and while the appointments that required discussion with the nurse sometimes took 45 minutes or more, I never had to wait in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes, and I discovered that often if I showed up 15-30 minutes early for my appointment they would actually get me in and out early. So yeah. I probably got lucky in many ways - I had pretty much no side effects and hardly any discomfort from the procedure, which helps - but to me everyone was as friendly and accommodating as they could be for the entire process. read more

This is the best doctor's office, regardless of specialty, that I've been to. It's run very professionally, and you never feel like a number or like you've been left out in the cold. Where timing is everything, I knew at TFC I'd always be able to reach someone. I recommend Dr. Hansard who was the best doctor I've ever had. Make no mistake: this treatment is expensive. If I could offer any advice to someone just starting out I'd say to start big. There are many levels of treatment for getting pregnant, starting with pills at about $500 per month to IUI at ~ $2500 to IVF at about $13K per cycle. The longer you are unsuccessful, the lower you're chances of conceiving (in general). Start big ~ you're not trying to have kids to save money. read more

I saw Dr. Kaylen Silverberg for fertility treatment. ​​ It was the worst experience I have had with any doctor in my life. The good news is that after the horrible and unethical treatment I received at Texas Fertility Clinic, I went to the San Diego Fertility Clinic, ​​I​ ​was treated with respect and kindness. When I went to Dr. Silverberg, I did not know that his claim to fame in the medical world was inventing software to maximize profits for fertility clinics. My first visit to his office he asked me to wait while he took a phone call to deliver a new Lexus to his wife while I listened. The second visit, when I was in the gynecological chair, exposed, he had a young medical intern accompany him without asking for my consent. After more disrespectful interactions, I got pregnant, then got a voicemail message telling me I had miscarried. This is the short of it. I would not recommend this clinic or this doctor to anyone and I will say that it was well worth it to travel to San Diego to get good fertility treatment. I saw the difference from horrible, disrespectful fertility treatment and excellent fertility treatment. So, if you are in Texas, spend the extra money and go to clinic where women's needs come first, not profits. read more
