We came to Texas de Brazil on Christmas evening without a reservation, fully prepared for the possibility that it might not work out -- but I have to say, the staff handled a very busy and stressful night with grace, professionalism, and kindness. Yes, there was a wait (which is expected on a holiday), but what stood out was how well the front-of-house team and manager communicated and worked through the crowd. The manager in particular was clearly under pressure, yet still attentive, respectful, and committed to making sure guests were taken care of. That alone deserves recognition. Once seated, the experience was exactly what you hope for: attentive service a smooth flow despite the crowd servers supporting one another and no feeling of being rushed The food was excellent, as always, and the overall experience felt thoughtful and well-managed, even on one of the busiest nights of the year. I truly appreciate a restaurant that can maintain composure, fairness, and hospitality when things are hectic -- and Texas de Brazil did just that. We left full, happy, and grateful we stayed. Thank you to the team for turning a potentially stressful holiday night into a great dining experience. I'll absolutely be back. Generally the food was great. One slice of a fresh leg of lamb was weird. Two of us at the table tasted it and spit it out - it was as if it was smothered in goat cheese.. A second slice from that same round was fine though. Not a big deal just weird and worth mentioning. Sides were great and most of the other meat cuts were good. My complaint, bringing it to under 4 or 5 stars, was even though it was not it was for a birthday. They didn't do anything for that, except to mention that they could give you a candle to take home. Also, they changed their rewards program, just a couple months ago and since I didn't get one of their spam emails for my birthday coupon, even though I had been previously a member, there was no birthday discount. The server couldn't do anything and I don't blame her. She was great. The manager though was pretty dismissive had to see the email of my membership and then still said well there's nothing he can do. They can't pump anything. They have everything's out of their hands which seems pretty ridiculous. Considering there were four of us plus a bottle of wine it wasn't that we were trying to eat for free, and although I'm annoyed that they change their little perks and then you don't get anything off your birthday anymore couple days my largest disappointment was the fact that it was for a birthday and with that kind of check they didn't even do a cupcake?! Seems like they've done this a bit too often considering We went on a Saturday and it was busy for the first seating (not fully booked )but we took our time and that place cleared out and even though it was only 730 on a Friday maybe a 10th of the place had the later dinner rush.. The food is epic gourmet, the buffet (alone) offers some delicious luxury items. the buffet (alone) is a secret menu item you have to ask for ($38) vs, the automatic ($58.00) "full meal" with meat that they automatically bill you for, the visual ambience is stunning. I didn't know what to expect when my daughter brought me. I wanted steak and they had a lot. Most of it was too salty for me. Their sangria was excellent and we ordered a pitcher of it. The salad was good. Many of the items there were again on the salty side. The soup I wasn't wild about either. Texas de Brazil is a churrascaria/Brazilian steakhouse restaurant chain that has locations around the world. It is one of my and my husband's favorite restaurant chains, and we have eaten at other locations many, many times. For this particular restaurant in Crocker Park, I made a dinner reservation for two people for their opening time of 5 PM. When my husband and I entered the restaurant, a few employees immediately greeted us. We were the first customers in the restaurant, so our main waiter and our gauchos served us very promptly. We did not have to wait at all to order our beverages, to help ourselves to the all-you-can-eat salad buffet, or to be offered meats. At the salad buffet, we chose foods such as lobster bisque, smoked salmon, shrimp, couscous, scalloped potatoes, potato salad, pineapple, etcetera. We also enjoyed our free cheesy bread, fried bananas, mashed potatoes, and French fries as well as our three alcoholic beverages (passion-fruit caipirinha, rio sunrise, and bahia breeze). The gauchos offered us many different types of meats. Our favorite meats were the bacon-wrapped filet mignon, picanha, flank steak, and beef ribs. My husband also enjoyed lamb. The meats were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. Toward the end of the meal, we ordered a bananas foster for dessert, and it was sweet. The final price for our two dinners, three alcoholic beverages, and one dessert was $161 plus a tip. read more

What was extremely disappointing was they did nothing to recognize my Mom's birthday. Why would you ask if you are celebrating anything and then do nothing to recognize it??? Our reservation was pushed back 1-1/4 hrs due to a technical problem. Some items were unavailable and we never received any compensation for the changed reservation time and not having a full menu. There were 6 of us at one table. It was just too small. We're eating off of 2 large plates and when they come with the meat on a sword. My place setting was actually pushed out of my reach repeatedly. I told the manager & he asked if we would like to move? ( very inconvenient since we were in the middle of our meal) How about pushing a small table next to ours? He apologized, but the situation was not resolved. Our meats were cold and dry. We kept asking for medium RARE but kept getting medium well or well done about 95% of the time. The servers were very good. All in all, this restaurant was a big disappointment. This was a very good experience with my family. It is a normal Brazilian style steakhouse and I loved all of the meat options, with my favorite being the filet mingon. The side dishes were also phenomenal and very nicely arranged, I loved the potatoes in cheese sauce. It was beautiful inside and clean. And service was fast and helpful. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked at $53 a person just for food. And the house wine tasted not the best. read more

Good visit at this Brazilian steakhouse buffet. Fancy decor and clean condition. Did arrive at opening (4pm). Got buffet & unlimited meat. Everything I tried (about 25 items) was good! Didn't like the lamb but not a lamb fan. Loved the flank steak & beef ribs. The Parmesan chicken was perfect. All 3 potato options were great. Cheeses were nice. The gauchos came around frequently and were friendly. Drinks were topped often. All around great experience until we got the bill. No, but it is $47 per person so a tad steep for our budget. The salad bar and all of the meats were delicious! And the cheese bread is my all time favorite, I could just eat those as my meal and be satisfied. The lobster bisque is also super good. However, some things I wasn't a fan of was how when we first arrived, we were kind of sitting around waiting for meat. And the meat that did come around was usually chicken. And although the chicken was good, we were really there for the picanha and lamb, etc. I don't know of this is a tactic to quickly get you full on other foods, but it was a little annoying that once we were well into our meal, that's when they started coming by with more frequency and with the higher quality meats. But you can always just flag one of the waiters to request a meat too so it isn't the worst deal. Another thing that was weird was that the server's don't really follow whether your card is turned to "yes more meat" or "no thanks". There were a few times where I would turn my card to "no" just to take a break, or even when I was done eating but my friend was still going, and they still kept offering me meat. First time here. We have always wanted to try the place. For those who know the area, it is in Crocker Park - near Detroit. If you like meat, this is the place for you. A big part of it is the experience. Sure you could go buy a huge piece of meat for what you pay, but this allows you to try a lot of different things! Surprisingly, because I'm not a sausage person, the Brazilian sausage was one of my favorites! Th beef rib was my favorite meat! The filet was amazing too. I used to work at a Brazilian steakhouse for a few years, Chima Brazilian Steakhouse. It's similar to a Fogo de Chão. I've been to Texas de Brazil quite a few times with my family, but at the Woodmere location. We came to the Westlake location because we wanted to walk around afterwards. *They did not recognize my fathers birthday nor did they recognize my brother being a soldier and being deployed. It was noted for the server since it was on the ticket the hostess printed out. It was placed on the table so I gave it to our server so she would know * - main reason for 2 stars. I was very disappointed. I usually start with meat first and skip the salad bar. It took at least 5 minutes for any meat to come by. And I had to deny the first several gaucho's. I'm sorry, but I'm not at a Brazilian steakhouse for chicken or ribs. I looked forward to LAMB all day, and obviously picanha and top sirloin. Those are really the only 3 that I eat at Brazilian steakhouses. I had lamb picanha but it's just not the same as leg of lamb Leg of lamb is and has always been my favorite meat. Well, they did not have any ready. I was told it would take 30-45 minutes. Then I was told it would take another 30 minutes. So I wasn't able to have the only meat I was looking forward to. Anyways, they kept coming around with the same meats- chicken, sausage, etc. And that would take minutes to come by. Very disappointing. The one gaucho even dropped a piece of steak onto someone at my table because he was reaching across the table trying to drop meat off to another individuals plate. Very sloppy and lazy in my opinion. I gave it 2 stars because the salad bar is actually pretty good. But it was interesting they provide fries and mashed potatoes for the table. Way too much starch. The service was terrible which is amazing because they don't even have to bring food. The salad bar was okay but the meat which had been described as medium rare was all way over done and mostly inedible. I will never go back and I'm still trying to figure out why it was so busy. Real review: 3.5 Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday; the restaurant was completely empty. We were greeted by a hostess with a sour face who pretended like she didn't see my reservation. Eventually we got seated at the front of the restaurant, and the server explained the dining concept. We went to the salad bar, which was a bit sad. There were limited choices and the vegetables didn't seem that fresh (we did come at 3:15 on a Sunday, so the food was probably sitting out for a while). It was nothing compared to Zed 451's in Chicago, or even Fogo De Chao's. The best thing from the hot bar were the potatoes au gratin. The soup of the day was very salty. I tried all of the meats offered during lunch and my favorites were definitely the Picanha and the leg of lamb. Those were the most tender and best seasoned, although all of the meats were on the salty side. Since it was my mom and brother's birthday, we got to choose two free desserts. We opted for the carrot cake and the chocolate cake. Both came in generous portion sizes and were delicious! Our service throughout the entire meal was great. They were prompt when it came to bringing out sides to the table/changing our plates/refilling water. Other than the snotty hostness and the salad bar, this was actually a pretty decent experience. Keep it green side up and they will bring you all the meat you'd ever want to eat. My wife is not the carnivore that I am and looked on in horror at my gluttonous meat induced frenzy.
