This was a real special treat. My sister and I stopped here before she dropped me off at the Syracuse Airport. We didn't have a lot of time , and we let the people at the front know and everyone took amazing care of us. We got the delicious salad bar very crisp fresh greens and other amazing sides. When they came around for the meats we let them know to just stick to certain foods like all the steak for me personally. Everything was cooked to perfection! They really crushed it and took care of us so well the whole time. I really enjoyed my visit. And when I'm back flying to go see my family in upstate New York I will be sure to go here again. My boyfriend and I were out for a day of shopping and he wanted to try somewhere he hadn't been before. I've been to other Texas de Brazil but not this specific location. At the time I was doing a cleanse and could only eat fruits and veggies but my boyfriend was craving steak so we decided to stop in because they had something for the both of us. The restaurant itself is so beautiful. The tables are all beautifully set and the staff were all so welcoming and helpful. When walking in the hostess greeted us and gave us a short introduction to what to expect for the dining experience. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. When we got to the table there were circular cards that had green on one side and red on the other. Our waiter explained how they work. Green to bring more meats and red to give us a break. The salad bar had so many options and that was great for me because I was able to enjoy myself and leave with a full belly. My boyfriend got an old fashioned and he said it was really good. After we visited the salad bar to start the meats started coming out. They are all on long serving sticks and the people walking around with them are so nice. They let you know what they have and how it's cooked and let me take their pictures. They had different cuts of steak, lamb, sausages, and chicken. We made a reservation for our Anniversary. Service was pretty good but because my husband only wants med rare lamb it does take a while to get someone over. He also tried some steak, but again it can take a little time to get someone over with rare meat. We were very patient. I prefer to just get the salad bar. I love the lobster bisque and the selection of meats, cheese, shrimp, veggies, etc. My husband had a coupon for a free dessert but of course didn't carefully read it. Mine and my ladies first time doing Texas de Brazil. I have done other Brazilian steak houses tho and was familiar with the concept. Our server was attentive. Meat was quick to come. It did get a little repetitive but I kept a list of everything I had and at one point showed it to the server and asked if there was anything we missed and she made sure the things we hadn't had were all sent over. Took my friends recommendations and mostly stayed away from the sides. There was some they still bring to your table like garlic mashed potatoes and bananas foster. The meal I had was really great. Tasty and filling. I had a coconut Caipirinha, which was very good. However, my main concern was being overloaded with upsells, information, and questions as soon as I got to my table. I totally understand that it's part of what a server is supposed to do, but I would have liked just a moment to sit and take a breath. We were a table of four. We were greeted by some wonderful greeters. We were taken to our table and our waitress was very nice and took care of all our expectations. She kept our glasses full and made sure our experience was good. I think our favorite meat was the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. It was juicy and the taste was incredible. My wife from Brazil (now you know this is gonna be an obnoxiously snobby review) and I made a spontaneous visit here after a day in Syracuse. She walked inside and literally cried because the format/decor reminded her of São Paulo and is quite home sick. Or, just sick of me. Anyway - we made reservations with a VERY friendly host/manager whose name I forgot. So much for using our Outback Steakhouse gift card. Side note - we signed up for emails which promised a $20ish coupon delivered to my email, which we never received. No answer from customer support on that end, so that was annoying, but I'm no cheap date, I just date, cheaply. When we came in an hour or so later, we asked if any of the servers spoke Portuguese, to which the manager apologetically said no, so we yelled at him in Portuguese and promptly left for Outback. Kidding. We sat down, and had a mostly wonderful time. The only funny thing that happened was the server we got didn't get the hint that we were pretty experienced, and referring to classic Brazilian dishes like Pão de queijo (Pawn-Joe-Kay-Jeew) as "Brazilian cheese bread" diminished the authenticity a bit, particularly after we (obnoxiously) explained my wife's home away from home excitement. It was clear she was reading from a memorized script. We weren't the least bit offended because we aren't THAT lame - it was just so funny! Will we start calling Pastel "Brazilian Hot Pockets?" (Please don't google that phrase). Lastly, we dined maybe 1.5 hours before close and we could see them cleaning up for close around us. Texas de Brazil is a chain Brazilian-style churrascaria steakhouse imbued with Texan hospitality, featuring all-your-can-eat skewered BBQ meats cooked the "gaucho" way over an open, charcoal fire. Carvers come directly to your table to carve off as many slices as you like of their over a dozen different meats. They'll have you start with the salad bar that features chef crafted salads, seasonal vegetable dishes, imported cheeses, soups, and regional specialties. The quality of these dishes is undoubtedly great (try the lobster bisque!) but try not to fill up too much on it, because the main attraction is the meats. They also serve you fries, mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and cinnamon bananas directly at your table to compliment your meal. The mashed potatoes were very creamy and the bananas were a nice contrast to the salty meats. They place a round card next to your plate which you can flip between green and red to indicate if you want to take a break. When it's green, the carvers will continuously come to you offering slices of the various meats. Personally, they didn't really pay attention to that at my visit, but they did notice that we did not want pork dishes and didn't ask a second time (which was nice). The best meat I've had there has to be the flank steak. It's perfectly cooked and seasoned, just melting in your mouth. A close second is the lamb. The parmesan chicken was also incredible; perfectly moist and flavorful. The filet mignon and spicy steak were a bit tough. The free dessert we decided to try was a slice of their signature Brazilian cheesecake, which contains nuts and a rich fudge at the bottom. It was seriously decadent! Extremely disappointed with this Texas de Brazil here in Syracuse. This has to be the absolute worse experience I've had at a Texas de Brazil. Unfortunately, finding good Brazilian food in areas where there aren't many Brazilians is difficult. Even with approaching this with an open mind, the restaurant is subpar. I was in a rush having to be at a certain location with my food at 6:00PM. I understand that the restaurant opens at 5:00PM but I decided to give a call around 4:45PM to see if I could place an order ahead of time. Plenty of restaurants in the area do this, even for the next day. The person on the phone said it was better to just call at 5:00PM. As soon as 5:00PM hits, I decided to call them. No answer. 5:05PM hits, no answer. 5:10 hits, no answer. It wasn't until 15 minutes after the original time I was told to call back they decided to answer the phone. I had to speak with two different people to even place my order. After my order was placed, I was told that it would only take 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I thought that was fair enough and I will still have time to get there and pick up my order and be back at a decent time. I have to drive me to the location and saying I was ready for pick up, the person at the entrance said it would be another 20 minutes before my order was ready. If I knew this would be this complicated and taking this long, I would've gone somewhere else with much better service. Overall, in regards to the food, it is very mediocre and nothing special. Texas de Brazil is a fun experience! For anyone new here: you have a card at your seat that is colored red and green on each side. You flip the card to green when you want food service or red when you want to pause and enjoy your meal. When you are ready for more, flip back to green! Brought my boys for the first time tonight and they loved it! The food was delicious and my son who's not a big fan of meat actually really enjoyed all the food and variety of meats! Our main server was very nice and attentive! The food service was prompt, at one point we had three servers with three different meats at our table! Can't beat that! I loved that they respected my boys to ask them directly if they wanted the current selection and always included them! My all time favorite was the filet mignon wrapped in bacon, it melted in your mouth and tasted like perfection! This Brazilian steakhouse is much different than the others and by that I mean much better. This Brazilian steakhouse takes extra pride into their customers especially during Covid. Although salad bars are not typically provided during Covid they make sure their staff gives you a full menu item of the items you can pick. They then go and get it for you and bring it to you well you are continuously being fed by a bunch of meat of all kinds. This is where it becomes backwards from other Brazilian steakhouses well you are waiting for your salad they have already brought you your potatoes and your bread and your dessert of plantains to eat at your discretion. Then they bring you out your salad plate and then you don't know what to do with it because you've already eaten too much ha ha Ha. They then continue to feed you more meat and more Mi amor Mi amor me until you want to throw up which is a good thing though then they offer you a dessert for an extra price but it is worth it. They literally take 20-30 minutes per meat( and these are not the quality meats) like sausages, etc. we asked for picanha and it literally took 2 hours before it was severe to me. And that was when I asked the server for the check, so the whole experience was just really bad.z I asked for steak sauce and this took 1 1/2 hours before I got it. The cheese bread was cold when it was served to us. - So now as I think about it. There was really nothing positive about our experience here. So not worth the money.. Seems like the servers are just lazy to go back and re-grill the meat that they are rotating. So only a few people will get the grilled part and majority of the guests will get the inner parts of the meat. It's time for me to review Texas De Brazil restaurant in SU. The meats and sides tasted really good tonight. The only bad thing I had was the beef ribs. The meat was very tough and tasted rather bland. The good was the filet, flank steak, and picanna. I had the jasmine rice with sautéed mushrooms on top and scalloped potatoes for my sides. Both tasted good, and we're made right. My wife enjoyed the filet and flank steak. She was more about the sides and salad bar offerings. Which she raves about every time we come here. This place is a bit complicated. I have been here a couple of times in the past only to be disappointed. The meats, which is the reason for coming here, were under seasoned, the service was very slow, and it seemed very disorganized. Needless to say, even though I decided to give it another try, I was prepared to be underwhelmed. I was very pleasantly surprised with some improvements that I found on this trip. The meats were absolutely delicious, and the seasoning was spot on. The service had improved, but this was almost single-handedly, because of their manager JD. This guy is really on top of things and works very hard to make sure everyone has a good dining experience. I saw him make multiple trips to every single table that was occupied to talk to customers. That is something that was lacking on my previous trips. I'm not saying that everything was perfect this time, but whenever there was an issue, JD made it right. They still suffer from some inexperienced waiters And their timing is off. If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, they go from table to table with skewers of different cuts of meat. It seemed that everything was coming out all at once and then you would wait 15 or 20 minutes for the next round of meats. Ideally, it should be a steady flow. If I was rating solely based on JD's performance. I would've given this place five stars. I will start by saying our server was excellent. Attentive, but not overly so. Kept our water glasses full and used plates were removed promptly. Noticed when myself and someone else in our party had refused all the beef items and came over and asked what we would prefer and made it happen. The salad bar was alright. It really wasn't that large and didn't really have that much on it. I found things to try that were alright, but nothing I felt like getting seconds of. If you don't eat red meat like myself, there are only a few meat options and they seem to not come around as often. Meat portions are very small, understandably so you can try everything, but when you're only eating 1 out of every 10 items offered to you it takes a while to get a decent amount. The bacon wrapped chicken was good, but about the size of 2 bites. The Parmesan crusted pork was good, but again just two bites. The chicken drumsticks were hard to eat with the bone in them, and the pork ribs were just overdone and tough to eat. A person in my part who does eat red meat said everything he had was really excellent. So for the price of a meal here (which is a considered purchase), I would recommend this place for someone who loves red meat but would probably not go back as someone who doesn't. I do not feel like the price I paid was worth what I actually ate. Ambiance was ok. Glass walls, so everyone walking by in the mall can see you. Overall casual and comfortable and not too fancy, but definitely nicer than your average sit-down restaurant. Salad bar is your typical Brazilian steakhouse fare. Didn't get to try the warm foods, because I somehow missed that whole section, and only spotted it as we were leaving. Meats: chicken wrapped in bacon was surprisingly juicy and flavorful--I had actually expected it to be on the dry side. Flank steak was also pretty good and packed an earthy punch. Picanha was average, and I'm a bit disappointed it's usually the highlight of my Brazilian steakhouse trips. Parmesan pork was pink in the inside, so that was terrifying. We have been to 4 other Brazilian Steakhouses in the past (Niagara Falls, Wilmington NC, Pigeon Forge TN, and in NYC). We have always loved the experience and enjoyed sampling the different tastes and textures of the cuts offered. But that ended when we visited this restaurant at Destiny USA. If you want to spend $50 a person for dried out well-done, all you can sample meats then this place is the place for you otherwise ignore this place if possible. They told us the beef will all be prepared medium rare to medium during their presentation, unfortunately almost everything I had was well done all night. DRY AND TOUGH shoe leather. The "buffet" was sad and utterly disappointing; everything looked nice but tasted cheap and poorly prepared. And the service was just as bad as the rest. They did not have soup spoons. After 5 minutes of no waiter or server we had to ask the host for help. Then no one ever picked up our dirty soup bowels, salad plates or the "warm side dish platters" that were dropped off. One of our water glasses was covered in grime, hopefully hard water residue but it was disgusting. Only after I asked her for it did she bring it and lamely added "they're backed up at the bar. No they weren't. My 2nd cocktail never me came as it never got made, I sat and watched the bartender sit and BS with another server. Not enough servers, long waits between carvers coming out on the floor. Meats were charred. Not just overcooked, they were burned, crispy. These are all just management neglect issues There were 2 managers walking around doing nothing, not speaking to guests or staff. Literally wandering around. Hopefully they can find better management as staff was friendly, just inefficient, overwhelmed and unguided. When short staffed good managers will clear plates, fill waters and run checks so they can reassign servers to run cocktails and keep the booze and food flowing. Staff is all nice but they tend to take the same route so if you end up being one of the unlucky fellas that gets seated in the back corner, you will end up never seeing all the meats. Unfortunately, I drew the lucky straw this visit. I think we saw all the dry meats (the chicken) and the picanha about 3times before I had to ask the waitress to ask for the other meats. Then it took about asking the meat servers about 4-5x and about 20 minutes before we really saw one round of all the meats. The food isn't bad and it's a nice experience from what I remember. However, this visit just left a bad taste in my mouth. I shouldn't have to request multiple times for meat. I remember the good days when you had to flip your color to red almost immediately because you were bombarded with meet as soon as you sat down. This time, we had to keep our color at green for pretty much the entire meal because the meat was so scarce. Also, the night we went, I can pretty much count on my fingers the meat selection they had. Kind of sad tbh. Would've been nice to try out a variety of cuts. I went for lunch with my family and wanted to keep it light so we just got the salad bar. It includes a bunch of items. I sampled a bunch of items and nothing was good. They had lobster bisque which was sour and tasted bad. Scalloped potatoes were maybe the worst I have ever had. The boxed ones are better. Nothing seemed fresh. The best things they had were their bread and cinnamon bananas. I saw the guys walking around with the meat and none of that looked good either. My whole family had terrible stomach aches all night after this meal. I normally tell people to try places even if I don't like them, but I would avoid this place. read more

I was not impressed. Although the service and people working here were excellent and friendly, the meat (which is the base of this place) was very disappointing. The servers came around as usual, and I was super excited to being able to treat my husband to a keto-friendly place but all the meat was SO overcooked in salt that it completely turned me off of my $58 meal. Instead, I ended up paying that exorbitant amount on hummus, mashed potatoes, and wine. I hope it was a one-time thing, maybe the cook accidentally spilled an entire bottle of salt in the mix but it was really like eating a salt lick with every single piece of meat and it wasn't just one, it was ALL of it. I have tried so hard to like this place enough to give them five stars, but they've continuously fallen short. The pros: -huge cold salad bar with lots of high quality items such as olives, cheeses, dried cold cuts, etc. -delicious side dishes such as mashed potatoes, lobster bisque and some veggies -a large variety of meats that they bring around, most of which are pretty tasty The cons: -every time I'm there they're training a new hostess and the trainer gets so frustrated with him/her it makes it uncomfortable for everyone -huge lag time between when they're expecting you to be filling up on the salad bar and when the meat starts coming, regardless of your chip being green. -the service always gets a little sparse towards the end, I've had to get up and ask for the check on multiple occasions -you get the good meats (like filet) up front and they they never come around again. You'll see chicken and sausage about 5 times before you have to request the meat you want again. I feel bad for the guys I have to keep turning away. Other than that, come hungry! I'd still give them another chance, but my hours aren't very high. read more
