My truck stalled out and AAA took it to Scott's. I was told that that was my only choice. I figured…read morewell we will just see how it goes. I called the shop the next morning and told them that I thought it was either a pass lock anti theft issue because of worn ignition assembly or the fuel pump. I told them the fuel pump was warrantied by another shop so that I would obviously be taking the truck there if that's what it ended up being. Well they tell me it was the fuel pump. When I came to get the truck they charged me $140 ish bucks - give or take - to tell me it was the fuel pump. My issue is that they should have known from the jump I may not give them the business because of the warranty. Why was I not told the price for diagnostic until they had the keys to my truck and I had no choice but to pay it? I may have paid been fine with them running diagnostic. If they would have told me about the service that they were providing, with a price, before they performed it. When I protested I was told "sir, any other shop would do the same." Well, I hope that any other shop would inform me they do not give free estimates or diagnostics before they held my truck hostage after they scanned it. It's dishonest, or not transparent, at least. There's probably better and more professional conducting shops to give your business. One star, yo

They will waste your time, your money, and your patience. The staff acts like they're doing you a favor just by acknowledging you, when in reality they can't be bothered to lift a finger unless it's to run your card. My "repair" took weeks longer than promised, cost way more than quoted, and the car came back with NEW problems it didn't have before. When I pointed this out, they shrugged it off and tried to upsell me on even more repairs. The shop itself is a mess--looks like no one there has cared in years. Phones go unanswered, no one knows what's going on, and accountability is nonexistent. I wouldn't trust these people to check tire pressure, let alone touch a transmission. Save yourself the headache. Go literally anywhere else. Hopefully this shop can serve the city better when it gets turned into a parking lot.
