My car app showed that the vehicle remained parked in the same spot for three hours. During that time, no one opened or closed the hood, turned the ignition on or off, or opened and shut the doors. Yet I was called and told that the car was ready for pickup, only to be told afterward that the engine warning light can only be cleared at the dealership. I took my car to another local auto repair shop, got a free scan, and they were able to pinpoint a loose connection and fix the problem. This level of service and disregard for their customers time, energy, and money, is completely unacceptable. Run! (Photos for reference) Background- So I took my car for an oil change (super expensive!) last Friday and immediately, I too, had the engine light come on as I was driving it out the parking lot and didn't think much of it and thought it will reset. The light persisted throughout the weekend and Monday after work, took it back in. I was asked to leave my car there so they can take a look at it. So here I am without my car and need to get to work. I have a bad feeling about this reading some of the other people's negative experiences on here. Scott's (and they also own Carl's) staff is already trying to deny that they did something so I will update this post with the outcome of the situation.

I am a retired mechanic of 70 yrs old but I still have my own tools and started finding problems after their service work, first the rattle - they had lifted her car on the rear catalytic converters and partially crushed the interior membranes on both sides of car, next problem - check engine light - scan revealed issue with EVAP system which the issue was found to be 2 wires inside a rear wiring harness way above fuel tank and not exposed to external damage were cleanly cut with dikes that had left tool imprints on the wire. After repairing what these people destroyed purposely and them deliberately causing repairs to be needed, I believe they're in business to cause cars to need repairs for their own benefit ie even other shops are aware of progressive auto care's practices and they've reported to customers to be warned. I can see why they're not involved with the BBB, folks these people are dangerous and give real mechanics a bad overview. Just think about it owner is protrayes himself as a true Christian man, truth be known is wolf in a sheep's clothing.

They will waste your time, your money, and your patience. The staff acts like they're doing you a favor just by acknowledging you, when in reality they can't be bothered to lift a finger unless it's to run your card. My "repair" took weeks longer than promised, cost way more than quoted, and the car came back with NEW problems it didn't have before. When I pointed this out, they shrugged it off and tried to upsell me on even more repairs. The shop itself is a mess--looks like no one there has cared in years. Phones go unanswered, no one knows what's going on, and accountability is nonexistent. I wouldn't trust these people to check tire pressure, let alone touch a transmission. Save yourself the headache. Go literally anywhere else. Hopefully this shop can serve the city better when it gets turned into a parking lot.
