We let the person inside the shop know that the car wash didn't have water as our car exited it covered in soap and he answered it was our fault because we moved the car inside the carwash, and that he saw us via video, adding that the he pays $2,000 to fix it and to be careful next time. We were shocked as we knew we didn't move the car while inside of it (we washed our car multiple times here and we know how a carwash works). He made us go through the carwash again and the customers in front of us weren't getting any water for the rinse and they left with the car covered in soap. We also came out with our car covered in soap, again. When we entered the second time, the guy even came out to check that we used the carwash properly, without even realizing that the car in front of us that passed near him was going out with soap foam everywhere. Not going here ever again, their gas prices are high and now we know that the carwash and customer service are terrible. I heard bad things about the service at this place but I kept going. Not anymore. A note to the owners: having people working there who cannot communicate well or understand well what the customers are saying is highly dangerous, considering this is a gas station. I wouldn't want to find myself in an urgent situation here, or a situation where I need help. This is a very nice little Texaco station that sells gas, has a car wash, and an Extra Mile convenience store and very friendly workers that provide service with a smile. Mom suddenly noticed her gas light was on when we were all the way up at the top of the hill in Bettencourt Ranch dropping one of my nieces off at a sleepover. With the poor gas mileage mom's van gets, we were pretty much stuck saying a prayer that we'd make it to the nearest gas station without running out of gas. This Texaco station was the closest station and as we pulled in I'll admit we were grumbling a little about the high gas prices (though to me fair they were $.35 less than I've had to pay at some stations along the I-5 corridor driving from Bakersfield)/ Imagine our surprise when she went inside to pay and the cashier told her that with her Safeway rewards card she could get the gas for $.20 per gallon! That's cheaper than at the Arco all the way over in downtown Danville that we didn't have enough gas to get to in the first place! SCORE! I wandered around the inside of the Extra Mile convenience store and was suitably impressed by the display of Seattle's Best Coffee that took up a portion of one wall (see pictures). They had two flavors of icee (red and blue). They even had the awesome looking machine called the F'real Blending Bar, milkshakes and more, which I've only seen one other place up in Tehachapi and have been dying to try. There is a freezer down below with various flavors of milkshakes and smoothies in cups. You take the top of a cup, put it in the machine, choose your thickness level, press a button, and it whips it up to your specifications. Mom and I shared a blueberry pomegranate smoothie and it was pretty good. There are certain things I look for in a gas station, and this Texaco scored pretty well on all counts 1) good prices - check 2) clean restrooms - there was someone in it so I didn't actually check 3) diet drink options at the soda fountain - check - Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, and Coca-Cola Zero 4) Takis chips - check - 5 flavors (yes, they're that good) 5) selection of munchies and other drinks (I like to branch out periodically) - check 6) car wash (for those occasions when I act like a guy and care what my car looks like) - check read more

I hate to write a negative review but I want to let everyone know to be cautious using this store to refill your propane tanks. They made me pre-pay $26 for 5 gallons before connecting anything to my propone tank. They added 3.8 gallons to my tank and when I asked them for the other 1.2 gallons or a refund for the difference they told me that it was a 5 gallon minimum at this store and to go away. read more

Needed assistance with their air machine late at night as I was having difficulty with it as the air would not go into the tire. When I asked for help, they gave me attitude and said no! After filling my gas tank I decided to get a car wash. DO NOT use this gas station's car wash as it is designed so poorly my standard pickup was damaged severely trying to enter the 90 degree turn to enter. I wish I would have seen that the white painted cement poles at the entrance had so many chips and car paint on them before trying to enter the car wash. I brought this to the attention of the worker inside who had difficulty understanding English and showed no interest in the issue. Just got into the restroom, there is a guy who works in the store knock at the door to ask me to come out and said I had been using the restroom for 15-20 mins already! I usually like to get gas somewhere else but I've been here a handful of times because it's close to work. The store is clean and organized as well as the gas station and you don't have to wait for a pump even during rush hour since they have plenty of pumps compared to the number of patrons. I hate the gas panel. It's very slow and if you're not careful you'll end up with a car wash that you don't really need. I came here for the first time at closed to midnight one day after work and I ended up with a car wash that I didn't want. I tried to talk to the guy inside but he waived indicating he was closed. Not much of a customer service. So beware of the gas panel. I kept the receipt for a while but I didn't remember to go back again. I came back way later but I knew the catch and I was careful. Out of all of the Arco's I've been to in the Bay Area, this one is probably the cleanest and best operated Arco station. Granted, there was a huge uproar from neighbors when this place opened concerning traffic, noise, operating hours, etc. So the owners have to be mindful of how they run the place, in keeping with the "Blackhawk" image. Sure, they don't take credit card and they charge $0.45 for debit card transactions. But that's what EVERY Arco charges. If you read on Arco.com, charging to accept cards is the way they keep their prices at least $0.10 below the competitors, on average. But there's an easy way around that, the Arco Business Solutions Fuel card. No, you don't need to be a business to sign up for one. Just fill out the application and say that you're a "business." Bingo! You got yourself an Arco card. No transaction fees and Arco automatically debits your monthly bill from your checking account. Why else do I like this station? The fact that they offer a squeegee and paper towels. Not all Arco stations do this. Additional star because they put soap into the water so you can actually clean the grime off your windshield. What don't I like about this station? The fact that it closes at 11pm promptly. Part of the agreement with neighbors regarding noise control. Also, pumps can be hard to come by during peak hours. Also, when gas prices come down, this place is the first to drop their prices in the area. I wasn't sure if people were gawking at me because I was dressed to the nine (including $100 cuff links with appropriate French cuff shirt sleeves) for an event at BlackHawk OR if they were gawking because I didn't have my pants hanging down to my ankles, with my license plate rattle from the loud music. And yes, establishment worker, I saw you intently watching me. I even saw you coyly try to change location when you noticed that I NOTICED you. I'm only going to guess at what you scribbled down. I am not sure why there are low reviews but this is the second time I've come here and had no issues. For whatever reason I get better gas mileage from the fuel here and the prices are comprable to everywhere else in the area. As far as customer service there was an issue with the car wash today and the attendant came out to fix it before I even knew there was a problem. He restarted the wash and then stayed to make sure it worked properly. I'd like to add that he was very polite and helpful . I'd like to add did he was very polite and helpful. I had the strangest experience here recently...I came to get 2 propane tanks filled, and when I walked in two let them know, the two gentlemen working were in the back office talking. One of them stepped out to greet me and when I mentioned I needed propane, his exact answer was "we are having our coffee now, come back in 15 minutes." I couldn't believe the answer and thought he was joking, but when he repeated himself, that's when I knew he was not. Just in case my other review didn't post...don't go here. The attendants are rude (they actually smile when you they can't/won't help you!) Last week, ALL of their pumps were out of almost all gas. Their car wash breaks all the time, and doesn't do a good job even if you go through it several times! Basically, not worth it when there is a Shell station right around the corner. Gas stations shouldn't give stress to your day and I'm certainly not going to sit around waiting for a manager to come in at noon when I was promised a "free" carwash when theirs broke twice as I went through it a couple weeks ago! I HATE this gas station for one reason. I used to stop at this gas station constantly for chips and a drink but I am not anymore because of one thing that drives me 100% bonkers. When you put stuff on the counter to pay, they grab the stuff, scan it, and put it down right next to them instead of in the middle of the counter or scooting it over to the customer. My mom is convinced it's so that girls have to bend over and they can look down shirts. It's SO ANNOYING and so awkward to have to reach over the counter and grab everything while they just stand here and look at you. Anywhere else I have ever gone, they put items back down in the middle of the counter or push them back over towards you. It's so awkward and annoying and seems disrespectful. Sure it's cash only. Sure it doesn't look as great as the other gas stations nearby, but it certainly and by far is the cheapest gas you'll find without driving to Walnut Creek. It's location is less that superb but the price certainly makes it worth it. If you're looking for cheaper gas per gallon, then look no further. read more

The attendants are so rude and disrespectful, especially to women. Additionally the pump card readers don't work some of the time. I've observed the attendant/owner being rude on several occasions and I decided to file a complaint with Chevron when they yelled at my wife last week. This is not a company-owned store so the owner is responsible for good customer service, which he has failed to provide on a consistent basis. Friend purchased a coupon for a car wash one day. Didn't use it that day, but went back to use it today. Was told the coupon had expired. The clerk even laughed at her when she got upset. My understanding is that in the state of CA coupons or gift certificates that are paid for can't expire. If there was discount in connection with the purchase of gas they should have at least refunded her the price of the car wash. Bad on them! Never a please or thank you, and when he scans what you're buying he leaves it all over the counter for you to collect together - I'm surprised he can be bothered to put in enough effort to actually serve anyone.
