Really cool this is the place to go for your landscaping, paving, gravel etc. They have it by the few or by the ton. Friendly office staff and prices are great. It takes a minute or 2 when you buy for them to get to car but they're quite busy.They have every kind of rock I've seen and we will use for our landscaping needs going forward, much cheaper than buying by the bags at local big boxes. And you can pickup what you need a rest later if needed. read more

This place is so great! We're currently working on our backyard... fixing up our gardens, building a pond, and adding some stone pathways amongst the ivy. Shopping at Tex-Art Stone has been super convenient and affordable, and it's a really fun place to browse. We bought a bunch of flagstone for our footpaths (it's called mountain mist. Or maybe misty mountain...) and we love it. To purchase stones, you first drive up onto this enormous scale and an employee records your car's weight. Then you head over to the piles of rocks and load up however much you want, one type at a time. When you're done loading up each round o rocks, you drive back onto the scale and they'll record the weight again. When you're done you go inside the main building and they'll let you know what you owe. They also sell some stone yard art here, fountains and little garden sculptures. I thought the fountains were a little pricey (think $200-$300 for a small stone piece) but I did buy a concrete garden cat for $2!! My favorite purchase so far this year. The staff is extremely sweet and helpful and you can just feel that this local business is run by a group of people who are laid back but actually care about their clientele. read more

Our neighbors have a beautiful river-stone feature in their yard. Unfortunately it stops abruptly at their property line. Looking out our breakfast nook, this sudden stoppage of stone bothered me. This week I decided to fix it. I dug up some ground and put in some edging. The only problem was that all the stone places I knew of are a bit of a drive... And since I'm hauling a quarter-ton of stone, I don't want to drive too far... Well a quick Internet search brought me to Tex-Art Stone (located in Keller, not Southlake). Not only did they have the exact stone I wanted, but it seemed quite reasonable (about $195 per ton). Not knowing how much I needed, other than in terms of area, the very helpful office staff told me I would need about 400 pounds. Now the fun starts. First you pull your empty vehicle on this huge scale to get your empty weight. Then you load up as many rocks as you dare. Then pull back onto the scale. By eye-balling it I managed to load 560 pounds of rock (by hand) into the back of my Ford Explorer. If you have an open-bed truck, or trailer, they will load you up with their front-end loader. The quantity of stone was perfect and the selection at Tex-Art was extensive enough to have me coming back for more ideas for future projects. All in all a very fun experience. read more

I needed a small amount of stone to make a base for a shed. I called Tex-Art Stone to ask about the best type of stone for this kind of project and inquire about cost. Upon picking up the phone, the girl (Tracy) asked me what I wanted, listened, said she didn't know and immediately put me on hold. For ten minutes, I waited until someone else picked up the line and, right out of the gate, asked "So, what did you want?" I explained what I needed and asked the about the stone. "Blah, blah, Limestone", she said. "I'm sorry- what kind was that?" I asked. She let our a huffy breath that would impress my moody teenager with its attitude. She said it again. I still couldn't understand her because she impatiently blurted it out, using poor diction and pronunciation. But, by that point, I wasn't going to buy from them anyway, so I asked about the cost. She told me and after I thanked her, she said "uh huh" and hung up. Apparently, I was so unimportant, I didn't deserve common manners we would all use towards a stranger. I will never buy here.
