So, I am in sales and working with suppliers, SERVICE is as important, if not MORE important than the materials. This is especially true when there is an issue or delay. I am a customer of Silver Creek and have been for about 18 months now. It's a great place, and I've taken several folks there to buy direct. Mostly, I'll have a contractor pick up for me, or I'll buy some bags cause it's easy (Bulk is way cheaper if you need a lot!) ... They will even tell you that! They are big on doing the RIGHT thing for their customers. They take a long-term attitude to doing good business. So, today is the first time I've scheduled them for a delivery. Let's just say there was an account/paperwork 'SNAFU', and when I did not hear from them by ~12:30 I thought I better call, as they close @ 1:00. Glad I did. They had set up another account, and it had an error in the number and e-mail. Bummer. It was close to closing time.... They could have said "sorry about that, we'll call on Monday". But here's the deal. They didn't. Irma worked to recall a driver and Josh stepped up to manage the process. When I let them know that I had scheduled a crew to come out Sunday early to spread the dirt, they jumped into action. The made things happen fast. This is a testament to how they handle service and support. I was a bit disappointed at first, cause the contractor I am using wanted/needed the extra work. It's the holidays, and $$$ is tight for everyone. But they solved that ASAP. Silver Creek Materials for the Win! Also; many thanks to Senor' Sigala of Sigla's Trucking for a PRO DELIVERY! It's a cool place to go visit if you care about your yard/lawn, landscaping, or if you are a gardener. Especially if you are a gardener! They are the place to go. I can tell you that with certainty. I used to get Lava Sand at Silver Creek, but just got several bags. It's not even usable -- white powder mildew -- giant clots that cannot be broke up. What happened to the Lava Sand. These bags are labeled Lava Sand, but clearly not the same product as before. It's misleading. I have to go buy dirt/sand elsewhere as these are not usable. We have been a regular customer for the past three years (cash pay) and decided this year to open an account. After ordering a truck load of compost we were charge initially on my debit card ... and then six days later on the credit card on file. I have repeatedly tried to rectify the double charge by phone, email, and even in person ... but to no avail. Both cards have documentation of the double charge and their response is that "...it doesn't show up on our end, I will have to refer this up the chain of command..." Chain of command? Weeks? I discovered Silver Creek about 10 years ago. They have at least 10 types of dirt for all sorts of purposes. Their cedar mulch is so fresh you just want to roll around in it! Prompt service is impeccable and the prices cannot be beat ANYWHERE in the DFW area. I was very interested in how they made their dirt and compost. I asked a few questions with a young man and he said "hop in my truck, I'll give you a tour!". And that he did!! For about 30 minutes I got a private tour thru the mine where they get much of the material from. I even saw the small lake/park area they reserve for use for the employees and families only. This place is great. If they don't have the material you need...it probably isn't available. The lady in the ticket office isn't only easy on the eyes...but she's funny & knowledgeable as well. These people are so friendly and helpful!! It can be intimidating with all the huge semi's but they still fill up my ranger! Even when they are busy they still provide the best customer service. I would quit my job if someone would pay me to play in the dirt here! read more

Great products at a cheap rate. Guys inside however every time I've gone there are pricks and have no customer service skills and don't seem to care at all. The owner should hire more friendly people and fire these stuck up pricks. read more

I made my first visit to Silver Creek materials in August to buy some mulch and fertilizer. I was helped by Kevin, he was very informative courteous and helpful. I really liked the products. Silver Creek Materials is close to my home so is convenient though I would drive much further for the great customer service provided by Kevin and the quality of the product.
