    Green chilaquiles

The food was okay and the menu is limited. I went on a Saturday around 1pm and they offered aguas frescas but then they said they were out of it. I got the traditional green chilaquiles and the tortillas were crispy but the salsa lacked flavor a bit. Also I went with a friend and when it came time to pay they asked if we wanted to split the bill and we said yes but they ended up charging her for the whole thing which is inconvenient bc then I had to send her money. Overall the place is pretty and aesthetically pleasing but the food sorta lacks.

I tried this place today for brunch with my family. My daughter picked this place because a great past experience with a friend. This place is GREAT! The food was delicious and well presented, the service was prompt and friendly. Decor is beautiful and plates and bowls are all beautiful authentic mexican pottery. We ordered chilaquiles and menudo. OMG! I will tell all my friends about this pl

I will start by saying the food is really good but this place has lots of potential. There are some things that I think would be great improving. To start off the plates cups for coffee are so beautiful, I love that they opted for traditional servware. However I don't understand why there is plastic silverware. I don't think that fits into the aesthetic and just seems off. In addition the wait time is absurd. It would be great to have a system where you can join the waitlist or make reservations to avoid having to wait so long. Overall the food is very good and have no complaints on the quality of menu items.

Food was amazing and did not taste Tex Mex at all, portions as you can see are huge and they have great agua frescas and coffee. Breakfast time does get busy so keep that in mind but service was great

My husband found this place when shopping for records across the street and hasn't stopped talking about it since then, so we got up early this Sunday morning and headed over there to try to beat the crowds. What a wonderful, welcoming restaurant! I hadn't read any of the Yelp comments before we went, but my goodness aren't you people in need of a reality check? We walked in and were greeted and we were early enough to not have a wait. While we stood there waiting to order, I read their sign that basically let's you know that there may be tables available, but they will fill them according to the number of servers/staff available at the time. (I feel like the ones complaining would take the tables if offered and then complain because service was slow.) Once we were seated, we were checked on regularly and our service was impeccable. The food was delicious! Hubby is hooked on their chilaquilles and I had the chorizo con huevos and they were delicious. I wasn't crazy about the potatoes, but I'm that way most places with breakfast potatoes. (For the ones complaining about not having chips so you could eat the beans? They do provide these new things called forks and spoons.) Bottom line. Put on your patient pants on and go enjoy this delicious food, wonderful coffee, and their sweet employees!

The manager is rude and hung up on me over trying to order food to go. I have been a customer for nearly a year. She tried to over charge me and after trying to explain that every other time, which is once a week I order from this place has been an amount less for an order of chilaquiles Verdes, and I have a every charge on my bank statement showing the less amount. Highly unprofessional.

I finally got to try this place, and honestly it did not disappoint. Cafe de holla was amazing, aguas frescas delicious. We got Pancakes, chorizo/eggs and flautas plate food was so good specially with the salsa they give you. Service was really good girls had big smiles, very friendly and attentive. I'm so glad I came to give them a try and not just go based on the bad reviews. This place is cute, authentic and clean. People want this place to be like a chain restaurant and you have to understand it's not, be patient the place is very small and only couple girls working.

    Cafe de olla

Figured I would go by to try this place out. The food was good and service was attentive. But the cafe de olla was delicioso.

Beans could've been eaten, but they DON'T let you have chips. Their chips are only used for their chilaquiles! Worst effing answer EVER

I consider myself a fair and honest reviewer. My husband and I love food and are always willing to try new places. However, this place did not do it for us. Let's start with the 50 minute to get seated. (Mind you there was about 6 tables avail 20 mins into waiting, yet they had us wait the entire 50 mins, only to sit at a table that had been avail 30 mins ago - yes it was empty for that long). Then we had to order our food at the front counter and then sat down in very uncomfortable seats with no cushion. Waited another 30 mins for our food. I ordered the Chilaquiles divorciados and hubby ordered the birriaquiles. I will hand it to them the red chilaquiles were good. The green ones not so much. My hubby's birria was flavorless. Cafe de olla was tasty. Towards the end of my meal I had some beans left over and asked for some chips, so I can scoop them up. The waitress straight out said, her words exactly, "No, we don't do that, our chips are just for the chilaquiles." I was in awe of her response! 1ST AND LAST TIME ! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE

We went around 10 am this past Saturday, you have to order and pay in order to be sat down and they put a lot of pressure on you to hurry up, the service was mediocre, the food was good, the place was cute. Would I go back? Not really, I don't return to where we weren't treated to standard.

As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

But we always hear people talk about how great Joe T's is so we thought maybe we just an isolated bad experience 15 years ago. But this time, it was even worse. Maybe people don't speak unfavorably out of fear of being shamed for not praising this "institution"? We arrived on a Wednesday at 5:30 so fortunately our unpleasant experience was not further worsened with a wait. The patio is still very beautiful and umbrellas were positioned to provide ample shade. But the fly situation was very annoying and could probably be helped with the spinning devices on tables or fans spread throughout the patios. The beauty of the patio doesn't compensate enough to endure the flies. The service started out good with waters, chips/salsa brought instantly. But within 15 minutes the service rapidly declined as more customers were seated. It was very tedious to the point of annoying to get refills on our drinks. Literally within 2-3 minutes of ordering we asked our waitress to switch one of the fajita orders from chicken to beef. She initially said "oh I'm sorry but I JUST put the order in". We looked puzzled and said "ok then it shouldn't be a problem changing it?" She went on to explain that she would add the beef to our table and just switch the chicken order to another table next to us who ordered chicken that she had not put in yet. All of that sounded very bizarre but the food was correct when it was delivered our table. At the time the plates were brought we requested a side of sour cream but it didn't come. After 5-10 minutes we spotted our server and requested it from her. But we still never got the sour cream. As I was paying the tab my daughter noticed that we were charged for an extra chicken fajita. So even though the server got the beef fajita added right after we ordered, she didn't take the chicken off the bill. She adjusted it once we pointed out the error. The food was the biggest disappointment out of all of it. I will always give grace to sub par service or atmosphere if the food is great. I say this with the utmost sincerity, I've had more flavorful beef and chicken at Chipotle. The chicken was so dry and served in big chunks which made it even tougher to chew. I seriously could not detect a hint of any seasoning, not even salt. It was very hot but not like the traditional sizzling fajita hot, more like it had been sitting in a heating pan or under heat lamps. For way too long. The beef was a tad bit easier to chew than the chicken but just as bland. The queso that we ordered tasted like canned cheese sauce watered down with chicken or vegetable broth and a tablespoon of pico added. The portion sizes of the entrees, the tortillas, the pico, the guacamole were all very generous. It's just a shame that it doesn't taste good.

The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
