We order each of their appetizers with drinks. It was all good. Our server was hilarious. He kept checking on us and kept the conversation fun! The ambiance is BEAUTIFUL especially if you go around dinner time. You can take pictures or have pictures with the sunset in the background. It's very very pretty. They also have a violinist play music while you're eating, which is pretty cool. They do not have fans so just hope that there's a breeze coming from the ocean because it does get hot up there. It's a nice restaurant on the rooftop. Our waitress messed up our order and ended up ordering extra appetizers. It's a good thing that there was a lot of us so that was OK but I think they need to listen instead of assuming that people want or need things. We had a large group so we had one person pay. Tesoro is fancy without the fluff. I stopped in for a drink at the bar and ordered a Peroni and the tuna crudi. It was decent, but a little bland. I didn't stay long, but the food other guests were having looked amazing--definitely a place I'd try again for a full dinner. read more

Tesoro is an exclusive restaurant situated in the Marriott Hotel on the 5th floor. It was heavenly sitting outside on the patio and watching the sunset over the Gulf of America. It was the perfect night with the light breeze. Sherri, our very sweet waitress delivered excellent service. We were two couples totally enjoying the food, drinks and ambiance. We indulged in an octopus appetizer to start. We love octopus, but this was made in some sort of tomato sauce and delicious spices. It was a beautiful dish. Three of us ordered the salmon dinner which was made to perfection. Paul had the Chilean Seabass and he also enjoyed it. We did not have room for dessert, but we were allowed to sit there for as long as we wanted to. It was such a lovely evening. Just so you know, the hotel has a very large group here, but the patio was not overly crowded and as I said before, just a dream to sit here. The food was pretty average and overpriced in my opinion. We are vegetarian, options are limited and modifications had to be made. We ordered truffle smashed potatoes which didn't have much truffle taste. Typically smashed potatoes have a crunchy texture to them, these seemed like they were just boiled and weren't baked or fried to get that crispy texture you look for with smashed potatoes. We also got the house green salad, honestly tasted like a salad you get in a bag from a grocery store. Cheese pizza was good but overpriced. Breakfast: Tesoro for breakfast is part of staying in Sirene (over 21 - Sdults only) area of the result. The breakfast has a great variety of healthy, traditional and pastries. The items rotate and are different each day. The service was awesome. BTW they have carafe of mimosa for $35. Daytime: We had drinks, flatbread and wings. The wings were really good ... would have liked them deep fried longer for a little more crispyness. The flatbread were super good ... capresi and apple-fig with arugula. Dinner: We had the steak and rigatoni. While both were very good, we could have used a light at the table to actually read and eat by. Bar: We had lots of drinks ... margaritas, Paloma, mojito, amaretto sour and more. Most were good, but the alcohol brand's leave a lot to be desires. Service was super slow over three hours for a salad, drinks and a pizza with pasta! Food was dried out under a heat lamp when we got it, the dish looked dried down! The first pasta dish was sent back to the kitchen, it was that bad! Oh and they changed the Mediterranean menu to just Italian! We came here after a day on the beach hoping to catch the sunset and have a couple shareable appetizers. Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn't get the witness the beautiful sunset, but we were able to enjoy some delicious food. Food: 4 out of 5 - We ordered a couple appetizers and a flat bread after hearing that the appetizers and flatbreads were solid. We had the cured and cultured charcuterie board as well as the Mezze board. The Mezze board had three different dips with one spicy and two non-spicy dips. The Mezze board was good, but there was significantly more dip than there was pita bread and by the time additional pita bread came out our other dishes arrived. The cured and cultured charcuterie board was very good. It was more than enough for a group of 4 and was perfect for a quick bite. The star of the show was the flatbread though. It had a significant amount of fresh mozzarella and tomato and really hit the spot. Service: 5 out of 5 - Service overall was good. We were seated quickly and our server was quick to take our drink order. Ambiance: 5 out of 5 - If it wasn't for the rain, this would have been the perfect spot to catch the sunset over dinner. General review = meh. My boyfriend and I were staying at the Marriott and stopped in here for an early dinner. The view outside was beautiful and the restaurant was nice but we didn't enjoy the visit much. We sat at a table and no one seemed to even notice we were there so we moved in to the bar. The bartender was a lovely woman and super friendly but not very attentive and wasn't around much. The people next to us also had trouble locating their bartender when they were trying to pay out. It was a shift change issue but just not very impressive. For the food, I got the sweet fig and roasted apple flat bread, which was pretty good. My bf got the spiced lobster fettuccini and it was NOT good. Way too lemony, not much spice. Definitely not worth $48. Celebrated my moms birthday at Tesoro and had a wonderful evening. The views from the restaurant, bar and terrace are simply unmatched. On the 5th floor of the JW Marriott you have a direct view of the beautiful sunset. Our server named Lynford was attentive and friendly. I had a mocktail named Sunset and it was refreshing and delicious. Four adults shared the Mezze board and the charcuterie board. Mezze board was super good served with three different Greek dips but they did charge us extra for more Pita bread which was a turn off. The charcuterie board was plentiful but we felt it was a little underwhelming for the price of $50. But all meats, cheeses and accompaniments were fresh! We were still a bit hungry so we ordered two caprese flatbreads well done. Delicious but a lot of cheese and heavy breading. I'm glad I got to experience Tesoro while on Marco! I highly recommend you make a reservation around sunset. The views are spectacular. Staff was friendly. The greeter Flo is amazing. I wasn't super impressed with the menu. It had so few options. Our group shared several plates. First - the grouper balls. There were four of us and it came with three. I asked if we could add just one more and they said no. They were tasty. We shared a couple flat breads. The mushroom one was bland. There was a fig/apple (or something like that) and it was delicious. The saganaki stew was really good but pricey for what you get. The mezze board was ok. Parking isn't free. Valet parking or a lot across the street that's gated and will charge on exit. Overall - the best part is the location. You will definitely feel like you're on vacation While you are here! Take time to explore the grounds after dinner. It's a beautiful place! read more

We've been staying at JW Marriott and decided to have dinner at Tesoro. The stuff is 5 satar,professional,welcoming and polite. However the wait for the food was outrageously long,we waited for about an hour+ for 2 appetizers. The drinks came reasonably fast, in about 10 minutes after being seated. Maybe they are short stuffed at the kitchen or something,but that was a long time to wait for 2 small portions of food. We ended up going for our "real dinner" to the place next door. Atmosphere was nice,the view from the balcony was beautiful,the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Cocktails were good,huge selection of Ginn specialists. Once you actually find Tesoro, you will want to go back during your stay. Like all the restaurants and grounds at the JW, Tesoro is absolutely beautiful. And one touch of ambiance you get here includes the breathtaking sunsets. The food is Mediterranean-ish. Shareable plates and flatbreads are all delicious. They also have "medium" plates which are about entree sized. Service was perfect, starting with one of the most warm and inviting greeters - I'm sure she is always smiling, I just couldn't see from behind her mask, but she had smiling eyes. While outside was gorgeous, it was still on the FL hot side, so indoor cooler seating was great. We came here two consecutive nights - once for apps and drinks, and the second night for dinner. Tessa was our server on day one, and Julian for day two. Both were warm and personable, and had extensive knowledge of the menu and were spot-on with recommendations. Not sure if anything was truly stand-out, but everything was really delicious. I found the bay scallop preparation interesting - in a Staub cast iron escargot dish, but with a few bay scallops in each well of garlic/butter. The flat bread was incredible, the mushroom one, with truffles, not oil, truffles was mushroomy goodness. I believe the menu is seasonal so check it out. The Greek and watermelon salads were both very good. Add poached shrimp and you would think they were three mini-lobsters. The platter is worth trying as it comes with their tzatziki and hummus, along with some delicious (pitted!) olives. The lamb chops came in four, served over a lemony, orzo salad. Delicious, chops were like butter. Just when you thought you were full, trust me, and try the Ferraro Rocher - like dessert. It's like a tartufo with the crunch and look of a rocher, complete with gold paper (edible) wrapper accents on the chocolate. View + ambiance + service + incredible food = a memorable dining experience which will highlight your stay here at the JW. read more

We did come for lunch which has a more limited menu. I guess we accidentally looked at the dinner menu before coming here and were disappointed that the lunch menu was very watered down. We ordered the shishito peppers, chips and guac, the mezze board, fungi flatbread and two fish sandwiches. The total with tip for 2 came out to $140. Ouch, I had such high hopes but what a letdown with insulting service. This is a hard pass. The positives, the food we tried was actually pretty good. Mediterranean style tapas menu with a few large plates provides flexibility, and most of what we tried was quite enjoyable. Very nice hummus as well as falafel. So what should you know before you go? The dining room layout is a nice concept but odd. Indoor and outdoor seating with a mix of options outside. Regular tables, high top, bar, couch, lounge like chairs, etc.. Located on a deck overlooking the pool and beach at the JW Marriott hotel, with guest rooms overlooking the dining area. Reservations - When making a reservation, it is for the indoor area. Outdoor dining is first come first serve. Fair enough. When we arrived at opening time, we were taken outside and offered a table for two with a view of a cement wall. The hostess, while pleasant enough said she could not give us any of the other tables (which had nicer views) because they seat four. OK, first come, first serve, but not for us. We accepted our table with a view of a cement wall. Another party of two behind us were offered another equally undesirable table but put up a fuss, and were seated at one of the four tops. The hostess then came to us and offered to reseat us at a similar table. OK, thank you, but really? I don't need this kind of drama to start my meal. Our waiter came to take our drink order and asked if we were guests of the hotel. We were not, and were informed that he would need to preauthorize a credit card before he could place any food/drink service. What? Never ever anywhere, not even in a dive bar. Might I walk out without paying? Might my credit card be declined? Insulting. All of the tables wobble, but they do not and will not provide anything to address this. Instead, I could try moving the table until it does not wobble. It was not possible to move the table so it does not wobble. You need to hold the table during your meal to avoid spilling your drink. Our waiter tried, but seemed like he had never waited a table before. Service was impossibly slow. Again, too bad as the food was decent. What else should you know? Parking is not validated. It is $15 to self park and $25 to valet. Sure in a big city I pay way more to park, but nobody has charged me to park for dinner on Marco Island, especially for an insulting sub par dinner. Clearly Marriott does not need the business of those not staying at the resort. Makes me wonder how poor the service might be at this resort. I can't recommend Tesoro. It was the worst dining experience on Marco and perhaps the most insulting dining experience I have had. Total fail. read more

The food at Tesoro is average, but it's worth your time for a bite (or even just a drink) for the views alone. Tesoro is on the top level of the 21+ JW Marriott property, and the views of the ocean and the entire resort are stellar. It's not tough to snag a table either -- though they don't take reservations there is an abundance of outdoor seating. Of course it's a bit more crowded at sunset time, but still not tough to grab a table. And for lunch there were a ton of open spots. The food menu is pretty basic -- items like burgers, wings, pizza, cesar salad. I was surprised to see that the dinner menu is the same as lunch and that they don't really switch it up. The pizza was tasty and incredibly cheesy -- it's pretty large for a lunch portion and I ended up taking most of it to-go. The caesar salad was also perfectly crisp and refreshing. Service is great and much better than the other poolside restaurants around the Marriott. If you are traveling without children (the restaurant is 21+) my suggestion would be to have lunch here instead of at Quinns. It's a very relaxing experience and the views are divine. read more

This was definitely the most memorable dinner I've had in a while. We got very lucky getting a patio booth, and got some drinks. It took some time for the food to arrive, but the Rigatoni dish was absolutely delicious. It is definitely a little pricey, but the food and the view at this resort makes it absolutely worth it. When sun was setting the high up location of the restaurant provided an amazing and unobstructed view. I've not dined at many restaurants with such a fantastic view of the sunset. Tesoro is overpriced and the bartenders ignore you. We visited a few years ago and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed sunset. Came back on 2/3/25 and the servers acted like we were annoying them. There were tons of bartenders and staff milling around, but no one seemed to be waiting on anyone. We sat at a high top by the bar after being directed to sit there by the bartender and still had to wait over 10 minutes to get a menu. Then another wait for drinks and even longer wait for food. Understand that it's holiday season and people are busy, but literally the staff was standing around not doing anything. The hotel had an event with live music outside and they had the DJ playing music inside. The DJs music was overpowering, and the sounds from the hotel event mixed with a DJ became earsplitting. What a cool place. This would be even cooler if you could get there before the sunset as the views would be amazing. I stopped in after a few hours at 10K and was still hungry. I ordered the hummus and pita and it came out rather quickly. It was a nice sized portion with a lot of olive oil on top. And the olive oil was top notch. So flavorful on it's own and I wish I could have done shots of it. The hummus was good too and the thin pitas were soft and good with it all. The rest of their menu looked good, but that was enough for now. The service was great with someone regularly stopping by the table to refill waters and ask if we needed anything. The one server talked with us for a while and gave us some pointers about the resort and the island itself. Placed in the hardest placed to find at the Marriot. Made a reservation for two for a special occasion online, specified that we wanted an outside table and when we got there... they said reservations were for inside only. This is a spot w an ocean view, why would anyone want to sit inside. Anyways, waited for a table... was told that they had one and 10 seconds later they said that the waiter had given the table away. We finally got a table and when we were approached by the server he asked for a credit card since we were not staying at the hotel. We have never ever experienced something like this, this isnt a sports bar! This is a nice restaurant. The food is NOT Mediterranean, not sure why they call it that. Their dishes are greasy and what they do is throw a few olives on everything.... Maybe thats their version of mediterranean. Would never come back here, what a waste of time and money. The only reason for 2 stars was the magnificent sunset. We were a party of 6 and our bill came to $550. ( drinks were separate) One would expect the food to be outstanding........ not the case. 4 out of the 6 meals were sent back because they were cold. We split an arugula farro salad that had delicious sweet nuts and a creamy goat cheese. We followed the salad with a cheeseburger and fries which were both tasty. The burger and fries were served without ketchup on the side, which wouldn't have been an issue but the outdoor dining section became very full and the restaurant was understaffed so we didn't have someone check in until it was too late. I was less frustrated with the service- because I understand it's tricky for restaurants to staff during this time- but became anxious about the large amounts of people that were gathering. We went for an early dinner in order to watch the sunset, so when we sat down we were properly distanced from other diners. By the time we were finished with our food, the restaurant was packed outside. It does not seem the tables were far enough apart. Like I said, the food was good and our waiter was friendly, I would go back, just not until they implement stricter capacity regulations or once COVID is more under control. read more

Unfortunately, customer service was not as great as the views, but this place has great potential to be a great spot for drinks with friends. It can also be a perfect place for a date night. The big outdoor terrace offers a relaxing vibe to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of the beach. Music is also nice and relaxing. I just wished that service was better. We opted to go back to Quinns on the Beach which is located on the first floor of the resort. At Quinns, the staff is very friendly and helpful, as expected in a nice resort like this one. I had lunch at this place while I was out in Marco Island. I ordered a lobster roll with french fries on the side. The roll was very interesting b/c the bun was a house-made roll that was specifically made for this dish. There was a good amount of lobster in the roll and I would say it was pretty fresh.
