Sunset

Visiting from many miles away and wanted to have a nice dinner on the water while visiting the island... so thankful we chose CJ's. Our table was a perfect place to watch the beautiful sunset and the Martini's were on point as well as the amazing food!! Abby, our server, made it extra special!! Highly recommend when on Marco Island!!

This was a nice restaurant on the water with plenty of TVs since the Super Bowl was starting. We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Good drinks and a friendly and attentive waitress. The food was very good, the coconut shrimp was well prepared and tasty. I had the grouper sandwich which was delicious and my wife had the beet salad with pink shrimp added. The pink shrimp were huge and very good. Nice change of pace casual on the water. Seating was outside but it was a little too cold!

Grouper Sandwich

Don't get me wrong, CJ's on the Bay is in a beautiful location. We docked the boat and were seated pretty quickly, which was nice--especially since the bar area is first come, first serve. The food itself was actually really good. The grouper was amazing... just not what I ordered. I had asked for the mahi mahi wrap, but a grouper sandwich came out instead. I'm not one to complain, so I started eating it, especially since our server didn't check back in for about 10 minutes after the food arrived. When he finally came over, I apologized first and mentioned the mix-up (I accidentally said "ahi tuna wrap" when explaining, but either way--it definitely wasn't a grouper sandwich). Instead of handling it well, he got defensive and insisted he heard me say grouper because "they don't see ahi tuna". That didn't really sit right with me, especially since I clearly said "wrap," not sandwich. It was disappointing because the setting and food had so much potential, but the service and attitude really took away from the experience.

Cool place to have a drink / drinks and some food. It's essentially a big tiki hut open air ( but covered on the top) ... also tables out near the water on the deck ... not covered. Lots of very nice boats parked out there, the kind that average people don't own. Service was good , server was great. Not a bad spot at all. / had the best salad , coconut shrimp, frozen rum runners ... was a good time

Fabulous atmosphere and view overlooking the marina! Late fall weather was perfect. We loved the Mahi Mahi wrap with bacon and homemade Tartar - great fries! The pain killer cocktail was fresh and tasty! Happy we went back here.

CJ's is always a favorite stop when I'm in Marco Island Vacation there the great view is the food is fantastic. You can eat inside or outside. I prefer outside great bar great people. What else can you say going back there in January and the January?

Clean plates

The food was great. The service was fast. However I couldn't help but to notice that everyone around us was enjoying their complimentary bread. Would I eat here again? Yes. However what would have blown this out of the water would have some bread.

Service was quick and the food was really good. The view of the harbor was so pretty and peaceful.

For entrees we had the scallops w black pasta, surf n turf slash/ flash burn snapper and the filet mignon. The red snapper was out of this world. One of the best we've had. The scallops were v tasty too. The surf n turf good too n so was the filet mignon v juicy. Generous portions. We topped it off w key lime pie n caramel n sea salt s'more.. Heavenly. The smore was one of a kind. Sorry forgot to take photo of slash/ flash red snapper. Tx u for a delicious meal .

Our usuals are the Pink Moons but we also tried some local oysters and they were delicious! I got the seared scallops with the black spaghetti and it was great. Always love their seafood! Overall I think everyone loved the food - a friend got the lamb shank and said it was amazing. The only thing that could have been improved was the surf n turf special. The steak (which I think was a strip) was reported to be lacking in flavor... Pro tip - don't skip on the free bread/cornbread and butter! It's the perfect carb start to any meal!!

With its grand outdoor tiki hut and waterside views with ocean breeze truly feels like paradise. I've been going here since 2009 and have seen a lot of changes over the years but the food has stayed the same. My go to is the blackened grouper sandwich with rice and beans and go to the salad bar and load up. Their pasta salad at the salad bar is spectacular. The only thing I would say is there always a wait and the prices have gone up significantly but that's fair and expected over time. No matter what I get gotta have a pickle from the salad bar pickle barrel! Highly recommend checking out the gem

The salad bar is a nice touch, it's not huge, but it's enough and it's something that we loved and you just don't see anymore. Our table was right on the water, great view and you really can't beat the outdoor dining experience. Band was really good and we enjoyed the live music! Our service was great our waiter was friendly and attentive. Seating options are varied, something for everyone. You can sit under the tiki roof, you will find the bar and band in there. It's dark, but open air and if you like a lively loud environment when you eat, this is the place to be. There is indoor seating near the salad bar, if you want a more calmer, quiet setting, this is where you want to be. There is an outdoor setting at picnic tables, if you want an outdoor setting with water views and live music, this is where you want to be, but you will need to wait to be seated. This is an extremely casual place, no need to dress up. Some not so good: Parking here is a disaster! Uber here if you can, as the parking situation is limited and tight and you find yourself circling the lot waiting for people to leave. This place doesn't take reservations, wait times can be significantly high, which doesn't help the parking situation. If you want to eat outside, be prepared to wait. We came on a Wednesday night, 5:30 (early) in April (not the busiest time of year) and we waited 45 minutes for an outdoor table. We didn't really care as we had a drink and talked, but you might.

We were seated on the outside patio that overlooks water and yachts and regular boats. The day was beautiful and the ambiance of the restaurant added to our enjoyment. The daily special menu drew us in and we ordered from it. I had the tacos of the day, a mild white fish that I forget the name, and they were very good. A bargain at $10 for 2. I also had the volcano shrimp which was very good. They were fried and slightly spicy. The diced mango on top was a good addition. I enjoyed my dishes very much. The wife had shrimp tacos and liked them very much. Her two tacos came with a lot of fresh shrimp that was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Her meal came with slaw and she chose onion rings, which were good. She did not order off the special menu and I think her two tacos were $22. The kid had sliders from the special menu, which included two sliders for $8. She ate 1.5 sliders which is good for her. Our server Stephanie was attentive and friendly. She answered all our questions on the menu and was pleasant. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall-type structure and there is ample free parking. Overall, we had a very nice experience.

As this was a take out order, there was a big issue. The app gave options to add for an order. I ordered a spaghetti marina and thought I "added" garlic and oil. But when we received the order, it was just pasta, garlic and oil. Wtf?! Why the heck would anyone order a spaghetti and only want garlic and oil? The option was NOT clear. I thought it was in ADDITION to. So for $20 I got pasta and garlic and oil. No marinara. It's NOT spaghetti! This was a take out order so the experience might not be the same if you eat at the restaurant. UPDATE: The owner, Sami, called me the next day to apologize for the mixup and offered to replacement. Within 30 min I received a still hot spaghetti the way it's supposed to be. Not only that, he added some dessert. As a business person myself, I understand mistakes happen. But when the issue is rectified, it's a testament to the values of the restaurant. The spaghetti was delicious! Not only the food is delicious, but awesome customer service. I can imagine how good the service would be if we ate at the restaurant. Highly recommend. (Went from 1-star to 5-star - the owner never asked me to change my rating)

The seafood selection on the menu felt limited. I expected more variety for a coastal restaurant. Appetizers were decent but did not stand out. The salmon carpaccio looked nice and tasted as expected, but the flavor was fairly simple. The frutti de mar had good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly. The sauce worked well and did not overpower the dish. The portion was disappointing for the price. The dish cost $52 dollars and only included three scallops and three shrimp. The rest of the seafood was mostly clams and mussels. I substituted angel hair instead of linguine which helped keep the dish lighter. The chicken Madeira looked great but the flavor was mild. With a stronger sauce or seasoning it could easily be an excellent dish. The kids meals were a win. The chicken tenders and pasta kept them happy and the portions were solid. Overall experience was good mainly because of the service and presentation. Some dishes need stronger flavor and the seafood portions could match the price better. Still a pleasant dinner spot on Marco Island.
