A middle aged guy with an attitude and demeanor reminding me of, "Comic Book Guy," from the Simpsons but a ginger with glasses was unnecessarily sarcastic and made commentary that did not resolve my question. I asked the cashier in front of me and another more helpful employee was considerate enough to answer my innocent question about heating up food I was willing to purchase and try for the first time. He said I could heat up almost anything including a metal bottle of Ramune I was buying. I mean seriously? I meant no malice in asking my question so why the rudeness? I decided to make a trip to Teso Life out of pure curiosity. My daughter is into small anime cartoon trinkets and I felt this would be a great place to visit. This place is super neat and workers are everywhere. There were a lot of things that peaked my interest but the skincare section is what had my attention for most of the visit. They full cosmetic, grocery and toy aisles filled with anything you can think of. One cool part of the store is a builders shop that has these life size puzzles that include gears and cool features. I don't have the patience for it but it would be a beautiful gift or something to do with someone you loved. The pricing here is pretty decent and there is something for everyone. This place is like Ebisu but a larger version of it. It has cute little figurines for you to buy here if you are into cute things. There are a whole bunch of snacks, drinks, and cosmetics for you. They also have household products, such as dishes, silverware, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. They also have 3D creative bookends where you can put together yourself to put on your shelves. A nice store with many variety and products for you to try. read more

Finally I went to the new Teso store in Jacksonville. The store is big and have tons of toys, stuffed animals, snacks and beauty stuff. My daughters were on search of Sunny Angels and we found them there. Prices I think are similar to other places for beauty stuff. If you are going with kids expect to spend at least $100. read more

A few weeks ago, John and I dipped in for a visit- he went without me and bragged about how cool it was- he confessed he couldn't describe it properly. It says department store- but I think it's more along the lines of toy store, snack store with a huge make up section and a small housewares section. No clothing- but plenty of fun stuff to be had! The toys- ok, my niece is addicted to Lububus (I know I spelled that wrong)- so I know kinda about some of these toys. The 3d puzzles! My daughter-in-love does the miniature rooms & Teso Life has them on display! Every one- assembled, lights glowing where applicable. A dazzling display! They have wooden flower 3d puzzles too and I picked up a couple to try. **TRY- guess what, I went back and bought a bunch more! I built 9 in less than a week. I might have a problem there, lol. John gleefully picks up snacks, drinks, ice creams & toys for the grands. We even took our daughter and grandkids there and Crystin was blown away! I wasn't wowed everything was severely overpriced many items had the 65 warning label. Items were also very pricey, my biggest thing is many toilettries had no english translation which is something I can't do with allergies. Shopping carts are also a little dangerous very slippery with zero grip they sort of jut swayed their own way. It was ok. Not my thing. read more

I went to check Teso Life on opening day! I lucked out on timing and didn't have to wait too long to get in. The place is spacious, clean, and well organized with so much to look at! As a blind box enthusiast it was very exciting to see a variety of blind boxes to choose from. They even have the elusive Sonny angels and Smiskis which are authentic and hard to find in person. There were Asian household goods, snacks, drinks, and cosmetics galore. Service was good for opening day. They tried to get you through the line quickly and gave out opening day goodies when you spent a certain amount! Hope to go back to visit when it's less chaotic. read more

Before I decided to make this post I did some research and verified packaging of other blind boxes in the same company. Everything is fine as products go, but the idea of it being a blind box is tampered with. Someone opened the box prior to it leaving the store and double sided sticky taped it back together. If you like skin products, cute toys from anime, cars, hello Kitty, and Snoopy. They also had a vast collection of wood puzzles. The workers were very sweet and knowledgeable. Interesting store, Japanese/Korean products, from food to toys to games; I really liked their wooden puzzles; in the food area they do have tags with the English description of what it is, which is helpful if you don't want Lays Fried Crab flavor chips; but who knows you may like it. It was super busy with long lines to get in and check out, but this was day one and I'm sure it will calm down soon. I had seen on social media the hype about this new place, but my friend had told me the lines can be long. So, we decided to try and go with our children on a Thursday morning, when maybe it wouldn't be so crowded. Thankfully, there wasn't a line out the door and we were able to walk in. There were a lot of people in the store, and there ended up being a long line for checkout. They have so much in the store: 3D puzzles, blind boxes, snacks, plushies, beauty products, makeup, drinks, and frozen items. The cashier said items change out weekly, so the same inventory isn't there every week. I had used ChatGPT to figure out what to buy before I went, so I picked up a blind box and car LEGO set for my son and beauty products, makeup, snacks, and a drink for myself. My basket was around $140. They gave us monkey fans and a reusable bag for our visit. It is overwhelming to shop in there, but I liked the variety of the products and saw things I had researched about. It was a fun visit for the kids, with all the toys. The LEGO set was challenging to put together and didn't stay together very well. My son has his figurine from his blind box by his bed. I used one of the Quality First masks and liked it. The dark kit kats taste just like kit kats, and the Ramune soda had a unique lemon lime flavor to it. Overall it was a fun visit and I have been telling friends about it who haven't been. read more

Very disappointing trip to Teso Life. My family and I were celebrating my husband's birthday by picking out a few fun snacks & a few trinkets. I found throughout our visit that some of the male floor staff were making rude comments about customers and pretty much walking around the store not really doing anything but being snarky. The music is blasting, you can't even think straight. You definitely get the full Japanese experience with radio 40 pop music from 15 years ago shouting in your ear. Prices are pretty high and overall didn't meet my expectations. This was my first and last trip to this store. read more

The store itself is 5/5--good prices and selection. However, the staff and shopping experience are jarring. The music is blasting and out of place (they were playing The Weeknd and Lil Jon so loudly that you couldn't have a conversation). Employees are everywhere, seemingly doing nothing but standing in your way. In the beauty section, two employees were loudly and unprofessionally cursing while chatting about a boy. A lot of customers were making TikToks, FaceTiming, and filming themselves to the point that it was difficult to shop around them. I think implementing a 'no filming in store' policy would be beneficial. read more
