Yay for another charging station! We stopped by for a charge up after leaving seal beach. 609pm on a Saturday and only 2-3 cars here that are charging. The plaza has a nail place, subway, cold stone, poke place and rockstar tan that I can see at a glance. Nice that it isn't a packed plaza. Trees for some afternoon shade on a sunny day. You will get baked on a blazing mid day. The orientation of the chargers are weird. A couple front drive in. Most of others are back in per regular set up.

slow before 11am

no bathroom, nothing around to shop at, cheap off peak hours but extremely packed. charging faster after 11am when the supercharging stations clear.

It was a nice and clean charging station. Plenty of chargers, we didn't have to wait. Nothing to do nearby but that's ok

Lexington Park - Picnic shelter

Lexington Park

5 stars for a nice rubber track!…read more As an active walker/ runner, I am regularly seeking parks with a track. This was a serendipitous find on the way home from work. Features - The park has ample parking, 1 basketball court (which is also used for pickleball), 2 fitness zones with 10+ different workout equipment , park benches, coal pits, soccer field, padded track, and children's play area. It is very well maintained / clean and the biggest bonus is the rubberized track for me. There's also doggy poop bags too, in case you're walking your dog and forget! You can easily find walkers at 7am here which provides a relatively safe exercise environment. The only possible drawbacks I see is - 1) there is minimal shade, and 2) it is right by horse sables (it is next to the horse race track) 3) the track is relatively small (less than 0.5 miles a lap).

We LOVE the walking track here! It is well lit. There is always a great energy with people playing…read moreon the fields, using the stationary workout equipment, back court that converts for different sports, and the playground. My only complaint is the playground is truly geared for older kids 2.5-3years + older. I feel with such a large project, the city of Cypress could have added a few other features to make it friendly for under 3yr olds - it's literally only 1 small slide for the littles - no steering wheel to drive, or any features to fidget with, or twist, turn, pull or other. I guess it was the last thing in their budget. All in all, it is a huge upgrade to the city of Cypress and we love walking here and that they have doggy bags for when our pupp finds a couple potty spots.

Cerritos Library - The Old World Reading Room

I finally made it out to the Cerritos Library, and wow -- this place was really nice. Even before…read moreyou walk in, that dolphin fountain out front sets the tone. The sound of the water and the dolphin family sculpture is so tranquil, and because I really connect with dolphins, it honestly felt like the perfect welcome. Right when you walk inside, the artwork in the glass displays pulls you in. It's creative, organized, and just visually nice to take in. As you wander further in, the large aquarium connected to the children's section is another standout -- it adds this calm, magical feel to the space. I grabbed a magazine and found a quiet window seat, and those 30 minutes of zero calls, zero texts, zero noise? Pure heaven. I didn't realize how much I missed just sitting and reading without a single interruption. Before heading out, I checked out the psychology and cooking sections, and it reminded me how much I've always loved libraries and bookstores. The whole visit made me want to get a library card and come back once a month just to enjoy that peaceful moment. I could've spent hours just checking out each section. If you want a quiet, beautiful place to escape for a bit, this library is it.

The library itself smells a bit moldy and it did trigger my allergies. The WiFi access wasn't available for me to use since I am not a Cerritos resident or a library card holder. What a bummer. The seeds library is nice and the 80s movie theater themed architecture interesting. I wouldn't mind visiting again if I am in the vicinity.
