I went to Moe, who told me there would be an initial diagnostic fee of $75 (with tax, $81.19) which would be applied toward the repair if I chose to proceed. He said it would take some time and that he would call me with an update. The next day, I had not heard anything, so I called him. He repeated that the $75 would go toward the repair if needed and that he would call me once it was ready. Later that afternoon, I called again--he said he had been about to call me and that the phone was ready. When I picked it up, the additional charge was $186.74, bringing my total to $267.93. When I got home, I noticed the phone was very hot and not charging.I called him immediately and instead of offering to fix it, he asked whether I was using a fast or slow charger, suggesting it might be a different issue. I tried charging it overnight, but it never powered up properly. After repeated attempts, I was able to get it to charge up to 80%, but the phone overheats, won't hold a charge longer than two hours, and stops charging entirely until it cools down. Because of these problems, I didn't feel comfortable going back. I went to my carrier instead, but they told me the phone I would need to replace the phone, the repair and use on non apple parts were contributing to the issue. I bought a new phone. At this point, I have an unusable phone, I paid $267.93 in good faith, and Moe refused to even discuss a refund. I understand small businesses have to stay in business but you also have to deliver what you say you will. He did not repair my phone and he refuses to accept any responsibility for it. Bottom line: save yourself the frustration. Go to an authorized repair shop or buy a new phone.
