I have to say that I am shocked and saddened by all the negative reviews. I came here once when they first opened and didn't think they had much of a selection, and didn't like what they had, only to return just last year before Christmas and was shocked at the difference in what they have now. I found they had lovely items (some things you can find online/elsewhere) and I could just keeping looking and looking as there's a lot in there! I found gifts for a coworker who was leaving, and a few Christmas gifts too. I sent my fiancé to Terrazza as I was hinting I wanted something there. My mom has purchased things here recently too. I like a lot of the home decor items too. Then I just bought a few things for Mother's Day in store. Some key things to remember going in: - most things are expensive but I try to support locally when I can - The return policy is horrible (they note it on a tiny little sign near check out) so make sure you love what you're getting. I know the items I got as gifts will be a hit so I am not worried about having returns - I remember in the past the employees were snotty here as someone in a prior review mentioned, but I did not really feel that way in my recent times in the store. - They will wrap any gift free of charge. My gifts were very nicely wrapped. The woman asked what colors I liked and said blue or purple and she ended up doing both color ribbons and it looked nice. **** This review started at 4 stars and I was ready to post it when I decided to check out if they have a website, they do, www.terrazzagifts.com, and I don't like how hard it is to find their return policy on there which to me is deceptive! Especially if they're selling to people potentially worldwide (I am not sure how far they ship). You go on their website and think "ok, there will be a link for returns somewhere"... go to the menu area on left side of page, scroll down and look, nothing. Then I thought ok it's probably at the very bottom middle of the page at the end? Nope. Then I clicked "terms and conditions" nope. Then I tried placing and item in my cart and going to checkout, thinking if they didn't accept returns it would state it at checkout? Nope. So finally I went to the search bar on the left side of the page and searched "returns"... Tah dah.... Finally found it. I will post the photos so you can see for yourselves. To me, this should be on your website clear as day. Don't be so deceptive to people - especially if you have customers buying from you that cannot physically get into your store!!! In a world where it's so easy to purchase items online I still believe in shopping small and local for the personal relationships and service. However, I am sad to say I did not receive this at this shop. I was with my sister when she tried to return an item I purchased for her and I was appalled at the behavior of the sales clerk and the manager. They acted annoyed, unprofessional and spoke to her rudely and in a condescending manner. I do not have an issue that they did not return the item but more in the way they treated her. No one deserves to be spoken to in this manner, especially a customer. Very disappointed. read more

I used to shop at this beautiful store very often and have purchased many items over the years, however, I have not been back since trying to return an expensive item that broke. I was treated poorly and practically accused of causing the damage by mishandling the product!! They begrudgingly returned the product to the manufacturer and I received a new one but when my husband picked it up they again made a few comments insinuating I had mishandled the product. We have never returned and it's too bad because the store is beautiful but they need to work on their customer service skills which from old reviews I can see hasn't changed too much?? read more

Fantastic gift shop, candles, glasses, serving plates, jewelry, socks, cards, towels, chimes, soaps, creams, wine glasses, bowls, flags, chocolates, wine gummies, platters, toys & baby gifts, similar to a Hallmark but higher end and with more unique & local finds. The jewelry selections are great I feel as if you could find something for any age woman whom you know. I read through the posted reviews on this gift shop before writing as I was surprised to see it at as a 3 star view. Here's my take: over the past 10 years, small gift shop like Terrazza have disappeared, closed because of online shopping and specifically Amazon. I LOVE a great gift shop and love poking around enjoying the beautiful displays, and products you really only find in a store like this. I live in CT where most stores like this have shuttered so when both daughters moved nearby Franklin, finding this was the best surprise. Is it priced higher? Well it's a small business so that might be true. Is the staff "watchful"... I've experienced this and I don't take offense as they're protecting their investment. If they followed me the entire time, I'd never return as I don't like that but it's been subtle. The customer service comments I understand. And appreciate. Their return policy isn't particularly lenient but again it's a small business trying to survive in a world of internet shopping. However how many times do you buy something online on Etsy or amazon and it's not quite what you expected or wanted? ... there's nothing better than seeing the item in person, touching it and holding it. One reviewer's comment on the registers and gift wrapping....I'm sure if the owner (s) were aware of that, it wouldn't happen again . That's irritating and plain dumb but not a reason not to shop here. It's really a fabulous gift shop with some unique merchandise. This is the coolest, most personalized gift shop EVER! I was doing some shopping errands in the Franklin Village Shopping Center, and saw this little shop next to Marshalls and thought to stop in. One word, WOW. It's an amazing and insightful store, including great home decor, cards, flowers, personalized products, and jewelry. The store is large, bright, and happy. The employees greeted me and other employees and seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a GREAT place to find a gift, card, or to get some new, cool, modern home decor. I have been shopping at Terrazza in Franklin for many years and I have spent thousands of dollars there. It was always my go to store for gifts, birthday, special occasions, holidays etc... I received a beautiful pair of earrings from my sister (who also shops there frequently) but unfortunately the earrings did not fit. They hurt my ear. I tried to return with the receipt and I was told no they cannot take back and they also told me they didn't know if I had hepatitis or not. I was treated so rudely by the staff and manager that I left crying. Needless to say I will never go back and I certainly will never recommend this store as I had in the past. The shop itself, is whimsically designed to feel like an airy indoor garden. My head was spinning with all the fun pieces to look at & explore. Terrazza's jewelry lines include Pandora, Trollbeads, Chamilia, Brighton, Alex & Ani, Cape Cod Jewelry, Magnabilities & Jojo Loves You. They have many relaxing bath & body items as well as a cute little children's section. Ahh, artisan home & garden displays are the best and they have something for everyone here, including Simon Pearce, Mariposa, Sid Dickens, Carol Collette, P.J. Szufnarowski, Landmark Pictures, Peggy Karr Glass, personalized ceramics & monogrammed barware. Many delicious jars for the pantry unite here at Terrazza as well as floral garden pieces to add to your home decor. Wonderful selection, so much to choose from. A very friendly saleswoman helped me to find the right gift that I needed and even wrapped it for me, with a box and a ribbon, without charge and without me needing to ask first. I shopped here today, I found some lovely items to purchase and proceeded to check out. The woman in front of me purchased two items and asked they be gift wrapped. There were two registers open and two people manning them. Both people were gift wrapping and ignoring me and others waiting and waiting in line. Would it have made more SENSE to have one register checking people out and the other register doing the gift wrap??? I got tired of waiting, put my items down and walked out. And by the way when I asked "Is this register open" I was greeted with "YES, but I am gift wrapping!" I won't be returning ever. While my wife decided on a few cards for some occasions I browsed around looking at different items. When one employee asked if I needed help I thought nothing of it. She then asked again and I responded "No, I'm fine." Then another employee asked me twice if I needed anything and this is when I realized I was being closely watched. It wasn't until I reached the counter that they realized I was simply waiting for my wife. They rudely exclaimed "Oh, that's what that was all about." My wife looked at me and out loud said " Wow! I think that's the first time you've been profiled!" (I'm white by the way.) Apparently browsing in this store as a male is cause for suspicion. It was more irritating than offensive, but I wonder what would have happened if my skin was a different color. read more

Terazza is a beautiful store with fine home goods, jewelry and gifts among other things. I only wish that browsing their eclectic selection was more enjoyable. At first, employees seem overly eager to share knowledge about the store's unique merchandise. However, when they begin to chase you around the retail space their eyes do all the talking... they are looking for shoplifters and they are by no means subtle about it. Not only will your integrity be called into question while perusing, employees seem to dictate a "look but don't touch" policy while you browse the shelves making this place feel more like a museum than an actual retail store. It's these customer service blunders that unfortunately makes shopping at Terazza a truly uncomfortable experience and unless they are fixed they can count out repeat customers, and myself, from returning. read more

Not sure why these few poor reviews of this place since I went here for Xmas gifts and it is wonderful. First off it looks smaller on the outside then it is on the inside and actually the outside gives off no real desire to go in since the windows are dark and it just looks sort of chintzy. But when you walk through the door, you are welcomed into a huge store with gifts ranging from local artisan jewelry, framed pictures, scarves, glassware, ornaments and other types of unique gifts, all from various designers and artists. This reminded me of galleries I visited in Maine and on the Cape and in Newport. The staff of course canvasses the place in each corner in case you require assistance, did not find them overly intrusive and in fact very helpful. Prices were average and what I would expect. Some of the jewelry is quite expensive dependent on the designer and they of course have beads of all styles. I was very impressed with the amount of stuff in this store and such unique gifts. Terrazza has a wonderful selection of gifts, jewelry, and unique products that you would not be able to find elsewhere in Franklin. However, the customer service is deplorable. I was completely ignored by the three sales associates that were working. One associate pushed past me, rather than say excuse me. Associate did not make any eye contact while ringing out my purchase, or even speak to me until i needed to pay. I was told because two of my items were discounted, I would be charged fifty cents for the complimentary gift box. I was purchasing quite a few full priced items to be given as a gift, but decided it wasn't even worth discussing. Beautiful selection, nicely displayed. Most horrific customer service. I actually created a yelp account to warn unsuspecting shoppers. Between my daughter and I we spent several hundred dollars there at Christmas. From reading the reviews, it seems I am not the only to find that should need to return something, (one small low ticket item by the way), that's when they show their true colors. I am in customer service, love people, love to shop, love to eat out etc. had my own stores for over 25 years in an affluent area with wonderful yet often challenging customers. Never have I been treated in such a condescending manner, basically called a liar, they tried to belittle me, a duo doing eye rolls and asking questions as if I was unable to understand basic concepts. I asked for my item back, told them I would contact the manufacturer myself at which point they tried to back track a bit and only a bit and tried to refuse to give me back my item! I did get, I did contact manufacturer, not for s refund but to make them aware of how they were being represented. I will donate my purchase to someone who will enjoy it. I will not under any circumstance return to Terrazza. Too bad because it could be s great resource but when there is so much competition for our dollars I'd much prefer to give the business to someone who appreciates it. read more

BEWARE! HORRIBLE treatment and customer service. Purchased a $75 gift certificate for my mother, and was charged $750!! Maybe an honest mistake BUT they didn't care, were not apologetic in the least, and isn't it convenient how they instantly took the money from my account but it took many calls to managers & over a week to get it back! I was in the store last week. I have shopped there many times. This is the second time that I was treated rudely by the help there. The first time it happened I said that i would not go back, and decided to give Terrazza a second chance...now it has happened again. Maybe you store clerks and or owner, all need to have a lesson in kindness and customer service for people that come in to your store. I have shopped at Terrazza for over 10 years. There are few stores in the area that have such beautiful and tasteful gifts of so many different types -- clothing, decorative, dining, garden, jewelry, cards, and more. Over the years, I have purchased everything from jackets, lamps, and wineglasses to soaps, earrings, tree ornaments, and scarves. I find the saleswomen to be friendly and helpful when I want help, but not pushy. Mostly, I like to wander around in peace and take my time. That is always possible at Terrazza. Most recently, I purchased a very nice watch (incidentally, at a price lower than similar items on Amazon) the day before a big sale was announced. The next day, the saleswoman graciously gave me a credit for the difference between the price I paid and the sale price. Yes, there are some expensive items at Terrazza, but there are many wonderful items at all price points. read more
