Good store. Prices are decent and the selection is pretty good. However the sign outside says "@Building 19." Make no mistake about it. Ollie's is a good store. Cheaper than Job Lot most times. But it is certainly NO Building 19! I miss BLDG 19 So much, I remember them vividly! The stores would be cluttered, dark, dingy and the whole store smelled like musty tires. The food was expired, the clothes were outdated and dusty, the electronics were questionable but damn was it ever a treasure of a store for New England! Ollie's doesn't have that same factor as Building 19 did. The store is too bright, there's no musty smell from the clothes. It doesn't look like you're shopping in someone's aunts basement. Ollie's is trying too hard to be BLDG 19 Long after they left. While the store itself is a great spot to get cheap stuff, and they still use plastic cards for their rewards memberships. This place will never be comparable to the store where you could get gummy worms that expired in 2005, a hideous 80's floral shirt, and a mattress all for under $40. Miss it so much.

Located inside the old Building 19 store is Ollies bargin, which is basically Building 19 but with more product and a new mascot with the same artist rendition of the new ownership. Inside you will find priced down items, if you look hard enough you can find a bargain. I picked up at $20 hard cover book for only $3.99! They also have seasonal products at a fair price. I think Ollies is a step up from Building 19.

Good selection and prices, poor customer service. Employees had an attitude I felt like I was bothering them asking for assistance

My friend and I went on a weekday night, about 2 hours before closing so it was pretty quiet. I initially thought the bookstore was only on the first floor of the building but turns out it's a multi-story experience. There is a parking lot at the back where I parked and I was able to enter through the back door (not sure if this is the main entrance). On the first floor, they have some books, bathrooms, a check out desk, nick nacks (hats, stationery, puzzles, etc.), and most importantly, a coffee shop. The coffee shop was closing up around the time we got there so plan accordingly and do some research on their hours. as they are not the same as the bookstore. The books are clearly labeled by genre. After taking a stroll, we decided to check out the second floor which was supposed to have a little market, a stage where they host events, and some very comfortable couches along with tables and chairs. I mostly came to see if a book spoke to me, but also to get some reading in from the book I brought along with me. The lighting is good, although I sometimes prefer to have a dimmer setting for a cozier feel. We spent about 1.25 hours here, but we could have easily spent a longer time if it weren't so close to closing.

Great little bookstore that has great events. Always a cool place to visit when we're in town.read more

They have a Starbucks on site too. Plenty of parking. Bathroom was gross tho. Amazon pricing can be competitive as well but I like being able to walk in and flip thru the books before I decide to buy. Can be hard to track down staff if they are helping others. Love the kids area, good place to take the kiddos for some interactive fun.

This Barnes & Noble Booksellers is located in The Crossing at Smithfield. The Crossing at Smithfield is home to an exciting combination of nationally-known retailers. There is also plenty of parking. The store is very organized and you can spend hours here looking at everything. I reserved an item online for pick up at the store. There was an option to pay now online or pay later in store. Within 10 minutes of submitting the order, I received an email that the item I reserved online is now ready for pick up in store and I had 3 days to pick it up. If it is not picked up by this date, then it will be returned to the shelf for other customers to purchase. The next day, I headed to the store. I went to the check out counter and told the staff member that I had reserved an item online for pick up. She asked me for my name and located the item on the shelf behind the counter. After purchasing the item, she also handed me a coupon for $1 off any Starbucks handcrafted beverage grande or larger at the Barnes & Noble Café during the month of October. The Barnes & Noble Café is located on the right of the entrance of the store. The staff member who took my order was friendly and accepted the coupon. The iced Pumpkin Cream Chai was very good.

Well... Size really isn't everything. This warehouse (no kidding--it's huge) full of used and…read moresometimes rare books caters to every interest and every taste in that interest. The staff is friendly, able, well-read, and genuinely helpful. And many of the books are remarkably affordable with some rare gems going for under $10 and more common books priced under $10 (often $6, $7, or $8!) Size, selection, service and value,--well, what could possibly stand against that? On my latest visit to this bookshop after more than nine months, I actually found little turn-over in much of its well-stocked shelves. Indeed, my experience recalled my last experience. And that, the one before... New titles leapt out me as I scanned books that I remembered languishing on the shelves for... well...years and years. Many of the books, while old, are actually rather common and, for the person interested in a deep dive into a subject, not particularly useful. Indeed, the bookstore suffers one of the most uncomfortable drawbacks in the antiquarian world of used and rare books: stale and/or stagnant stock. Now, that's not to say the place isn't worth the trip--it definitely is! One is almost certain to find something in any agglomeration of books this large and varied, but the compelling book, that genuinely rare and special book, is often elusive in the overwhelming power of the seemingly endless stacks of this shop. Nevertheless, it is a great spot to browse at your leisure and--yes, buy at reasonable prices, but don't expect to find the truly fabulous... Though it could be there... Somewhere... Who knows? Check it out and find out. It's well worth some of your time.
