Dr Rust did my wisdom teeth a few years back. It was far and above the worst thing I have ever gone through including birth with no drugs. He was not nice. Which was the least of my issues. I ended up with 4 dry sockets before I even left. I woke up in hysterics. Im guessing from the trauma of what I had gone through. I had to come back daily for painful packing procedures. And was down for at least a month if not longer from the repercussions of all that. I have had tmj and headaches since. we actually have quite a few older very mean Drs. in town and it surprises me how they can continue to keep working. More options here would be nice. This doctor is the rudest, most discriminatory piece of dirt! I wish I didn't have to give a star. Two people that needed care that I know have been told they were too fat for him to work on. I understand my late husband. He was extremely large. I get that but you don't tell a guy that if he codes in your chair he won't be bothered to try to save you. He refused to break his back and would just let him die to put him out of his misery. He also said he would have to pay for his chair if he breaks it. Today my new husband got a call saying he was "too fucking fat" to work on and not to call him without losing 15 lbs. He has never even looked my husband in the eye! He went off of his weight on the chart. My husband is a solid mass of muscle that could easily throw Dr. Rust across the room. He is called to do all the heavy lifting at church because he can carry a couch by himself! He was a football player for goodness sake! All Dr. Rust looked at was he was 15 pounds over what HE thought he should be. Don't worry Dr. (If you can even call yourself that) our little family will never ever darken your door again. I had a cracked tooth that needed to be removed as soon as possible. I went into Dr.Rust Office and about 45 minutes later l walked out pain free. Dr. Rust was very informative before the procedure and he painlessly numbed the area and removed the tooth in just a couple of minutes. My friend also had a tooth problem and needed a molar removed. Just left after getting my wisdom teeth removed. Before hand Dr. Rust came in, played with my earings, and then told me "Where did your hair go, are you sure you're a girl?" I have my head shaved for personal reasons. Then, told me something about how he's "helping the poor" because I have Partnership health insurance. And then continued to look at my gum line and was like "This would look a lot better if we got rid of some of the gum" I have naturally small teeth that don't bother me but thank you for making it seem like they look like shit. The rest of the staff was amazing, y'all were the only reason I had an ok visit. And he left a giant bruise on the inside of my arm which I don't understand. NEVER recommend this oral surgeon. We waited 6 months for my 15 year old daughters appointment for 4 wisdoms and 4 bicuspid. She was extremely nervous. Rust walked in asked how many teeth as if he didnt know. Never introduced himself he grabbed her arm for the catheter she wanted to ask him a few questions. She said she was scared. he gave her something to squeeze on and said she needed to calm down and he wasn't going to put up with her. I thought that was kinda off what he said, but ok He also said he had other apoments to do and he was not going to be late for his lunch meeting and she had 1 min to calm down.she didnt know if she could do it and stared to cry. He said " ok im not doing this with her she has 30 seconds left" unless you pay full priced you can not come here again. She has partnership with my co pay of $650 but he gave me a speach about how he is the only doctor that will take that insurance and if we come back as "regular patients " We can come back. and then he kicked us out. We were there 5 min 2 min was spent with doctor rust. He has the worst manners extremely horrible to his nervous clients She left crying. If you have partnership he is quick to put that on yout face. I had a horrible experience with Dr Rust. Two days ago I had oral surgery. Five teeth altogether. I was told I'd be put under, and before my appointment I called the office and told them I was a hard stick. Everytime I go to the hospital, their team of phlebotomists try and try until one finally gets an IV line in. I was assured the Doctor was very experienced. When I arrive, he tried only once, before groaning in frustration, while explaining he didn't have the time to dig around so they would opt for an intermuscular shot. I was informed I would be heavily sedated and pain free. Well... I was. For the first couple teeth. But then I started to come to and could feel everything. Instead of giving me a booster shot, he decided to hurry through the rest of my surgery, all the while I'm crying out that it hurts, shaking, crying and all but having a panic attack. Dr Rust tells me, not so politely, that I'm making to much noise and to stop it before I scare the other patients. Nurses literally were wiping the tears streaming down my face as I apologized though tears of agony. The last tooth he ripped out his fist struck my cheek, causing bruising. He then proceeds to show it to me, exclaiming " You see this? This is all abscess. Your fault!". He has a horrible bedside manner, is very impatient and downright uncaring if not abusive. I'll never EVER go to Dr Rust in my lifetime. Worst dentist ever. read more

Before Covid my wife took our 7 month old to Dr. Rust to clip her tounge tie......worst experience ever!!!! He took my baby back, didn't let my wife go back there. When she came back out there was blood everywhere and the tip of her tounge was split in two where a suture had ripped out. She wouldn't stop crying for almost a week. We took her to UC Davis for a second opinion and they told us Dr. Rust had clipped her tounge way too deep and that he shouldn't have used a suture to hold her tounge up. Went in this morning at 9;30 was out before 11 he had to remove all my teeth. Came home with new teeth and little pain

One star given because of the pleasant staff and beautiful facility. The experience with the dental surgeon was very problematic. My husband went to see Dr. Rust on 3/26/21 to have 3 back teeth removed. Not wanting to be put under, he opted for general anesthesia, so he was numbed. the staff gave my husband 2 valium, which he did not like. When the dentist arrived my husband became nervous because the doctor's hands were shaking. Groggy from the valium and not yet numbed the procedure began. First of all let me say that my husband is very masculine and can handle pain, but he said that he was in such pain that he was screaming and squirming in the chair. He let the nurse and doctor know that he was not numb on one side, but that did not stop the procedure. My husband was very nervous and in fear of what was happening. 2 of his teeth were removed and one was causing the dentist a lot of trouble. At one point the nurse had to alert the doctor about my hisband's sky rocketing blood pressure. after 2 hours of drilling and breaking of the tooth, they weren't sure if all the tooth had been removed and sent him out to take an xray. Today is 3/5/21 and my husband is still in pain with swollen jaws. His mouth bled for 2 days. I do not know if my husband was an isolated case of a hard extraction. I do know that his experience was traumatic so much so that we felt compelled to leave this information for anyone planning on going to see Dr. Rust. To sum up my husband's thoughts, he felt that the doctor did not care about the person in the chair, he did not listen to his cries of pain. read more

Actually truth be told. I would give him 0 stars. For the condescending way he kept calling me honey. While arguing about what pain medication I can take (because of my bad liver) to such such an extremes he had one of the girls that worked there get a book on pain medication. Needless to say he ways wrong about his Percondan. Forcing him to confess that unfortunately he got the privilege taken away from him to write out prescriptions for pain medication. A few days later I had to go from my primary doctor office straight to the emergency room . Low and behold I was right as the emergency room wrote out a prescription for oxycdone pain medication and antibiotics for my bad tooth. I got nothing but red flags all over the place from Terrance A. Rust. D.D.S. . read more

Yelp should really allow a "no star," option for reviewing business especially like this one. His staff seemed in a very big hurry to do everything, after we filled out the patient intake form and proceeded to the back after telling the staff of my wife's disorders. And disclosing her medical history and the fact she was pregnant, we were rushed back to the surgery room. After explaining again to the RDS that she has had bad experiences at dentist offices in her childhood and she gets panic attacks because of it. They said "not a problem we work with people that have fears all the time." Then the doctor rushed in was very short didn't go into detail on much or even introduce him self more than I'm "so and so." It seem to me it was like he was in the Olympics for who can get the most teeth pulled in the least amount of time." He wasn't patient or real professional, then he stated "I was suppose to already of left town an hour ago to go to Truckee." And since my wife was having a problem with trying to rush through everything she asked him to slow down. He again tried to rush and just ignore when she asked for time to calm down. And he said QUOTE "you have 10 seconds, if not I'm leaving and your baby will suffer and you can loose it." With his puffy attitude it was clear he said that to try and make her stop telling him to slow down. Mind you this is all transpiring in under 2-3 minutes. So then it was clear to me he wasn't considering anything more than trying to cram us in as fast as they could so he could get the money, rather than scheduling an appointment with us so he could take the appropriate amount of time. Everyone knows when you rush things you make mistakes and creates more of a problem. read more

Dr. Rust took me in for an emergency extraction on Christmas eve morning. What a pro! I've had a lot of dental work done in my 66 years and, based on past experience, I was blown away by how fast I was in and out of his chair. And yes, it hurt, but a lot less than I expected it to given that the tooth was abcessed and had mostly crumbled away. I was already in agony. Rust offered sleep if I wanted it, but it cost more so I declined. He was done in a twinkling with very little bleeding, in a fraction of the time it took to fill out the new patient history. Amazing. No dentist is cheap, but in the attempt to save money, I've spent weeks waiting to be scheduled by Western Dental, all day on hard chairs in their crowded office -- like cattle -- waiting to be seen, and then had teeth destroyed neighboring the tooth targeted for extraction, and lots of blood from tissue damage. I will never go back. Dr. Rust knows his stuff and exceeded my expectations. I'd give him more stars if I could, but I hated the scented Holiday candles in his waiting room. I had a wisdom tooth removed 1/12/18--Dr. Rust is the nicest surgeon I have ever went to-- I am over 50, and have been to many. Also, I have no insurance, I had to pay cash. Another girl had apt. before me. She had Medi-cal. He took us in order. There was no cuts in line just because I was not on aide--furthermore, he cut my price DRASTICALLY!! Shawn, the receptionist and her daughter, a dental assistant are the nicest ladies. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful. I highly recommend Dr. Rust and his wonderful staff. I will be pricing my implants with this wonderful Dentist. Thank you Dr. Rust! I actually had fun...I am a paranoid freak at the dentist. So happy he does sedation dentistry. I was also GIVEN an after care package including the meds! GREAT PLACE, thanks again, so very much. I would give him more stars! He is my star, and a real sweetheart. read more

I had 1 problematic wisdom tooth pulled by Dr. Rust over a year ago. When I arrived, the Doctor was very late. He grabbed my arm to put in an IV after I told the office I only wanted local anesthetic - which just shows he doesn't pay attention to client files. Then he asked me what tooth he was pulling! I had no issues with healing. I just called again to schedule an appointment to have another wisdom tooth pulled because he is the cheapest in town, the receptionist said there wouldn't be an appointment for a while. I asked her for the next appointment date and she said "not until after October" so I asked her again for a specific date, she kept beating around the bush and wouldn't give me a specific date until I asked for a 3rd time. I asked if she could refer me to anyone else in the area and she said "the other oral surgeons" Obviously I did not have any other recommended oral surgeons. She asked me redundant questions I had already given her the answer to. Dr. Rust and his staff are very unprofessional and lazy. Go somewhere else! read more

The waiting room was clean, neat, professional and comfortable. That being said when I was taken to the "operating" room I felt like I was in a slaughter house or house of horrors. The room was barely cleaned, I could hear other patients moaning and screaming while I waited to be seen, the assistant had no idea what my procedure was to be and when the "Doctor" came in it only got worse. I was there to have a dark area removed from my tongue to be biopsied. The "DR" did not explain what he was going to do he just had me open my mouth and had the assistant hold my tongue in place while he injected it with Novocaine. I had told both the "Dr" and his assistant that I did not react well to novocaine that had epi in it and I was told, "you get what we have". He was very rough with the shot and when my tongue was numb he began cutting on it. While doing so he stated that he would not make any money off of me as I was just medical patient, that he was tired of taking medical patients. I was so tempted to flip him off but thought better of it as he had me in a very vulnerable position. I began choking on my blood and when the assistant reached for the suction the "Dr" told her to not bother. I bleed all over the place! He stated that "well this seems to be bigger then I thought" as he kept cutting on my tongue. When stitching up the incision he seemed unable to see what he has doing and the assistant had to verbally direct him as to where to place the stitches. When done the assistant had to wipe blood off of my face, neck and lips and finally suctioned my mouth as I was again choking on my own blood. After he was done the "Dr" turned to leave without explaining what had been done, how many stitches had been put in or what my after care was to be. I had to ask him, with a numb tongue, how many stitches and what I should do. He told me I had 4 or 5 stitches and to come back to have them removed in 7 days, then "Oh, wait, I wont be here I am going on vacation so you will have to find someone else to take them out" Just tell them it is 4 or 5 stitches and if they cant find the last one it will disolve in 30 days or so" He then took me back to the receptionist and asked them how much he would get paid from my biopsy, the receptionist replied that it should pay $200 or so and he replied in disgust "I dont make anything off of you medical people" and walked away. I asked the receptionist if I was to receive a prescription for pain and she asked what I could take, I gave her the info and she looked very sorry and said that the "Dr" didnt prescribe pain meds to medical patients and she hoped I had something at home or knew someone who would share pain meds as I was going to need something. I told her no and left. Within an hour I was in agony with only tylenol and ibuprofan to take. I was unable to drink anything for over 12 hours or eat for over 24 hrs and spent the next several days eating through a straw. After 6 days one of my stitches came untied and I pulled it out. My tongue alternates between being in sharp pain and being numb. This man is no doctor, he is a asshole who gets his kicks from attempting to humiliate people and putting them in pain. He should not be practicing at all. read more
