Also, I talk about my dentist office that referred me here. 1) Visits to a dentist office is not the most fun thing to do, let alone going to an oral surgeon clinic. 2) I had trauma physically, emotionally and psychologically from previous experiences from dental visits. 3) I stoped going to the dentist office 10 years or more ago. I tried once or twice and I ran out of the clinics door I visited because they would not listen nor honor what I shared with me. Unfortunately, at the beginning of this year one of my molars broke. I did not say anything. Next thing I know, my wisdom teeth are coming out and I am in excruciating pain. They are impacting the rest of my teeth alignment. We live in Humboldt County, and there is 0 clinics and 0 oral surgeons that are accepting applications for new patients. My husband started to look in Redding and found dentists that are within our insurance network taking new patients so he was super happy to get us in. I did not say a word to him about my feelings or fears. We arrived to our dentist office and things started to come back to me. I was in a very bad shape. My dentist office team were trained for situations like that, they comforted me and handle the situation in such a professional and caring way. They listen to my issues and took all notes they needed to share with the entire office. Everyone was aware of what's going on. My hygienist appointments were so peaceful, my fillings were stressful a bit but I was not vaulted by the doctor at any point. Dr. Holmes would stop and make sure I was ready for next steps, and constantly asked if I was ready. Riverbend clinic made my transition to Dr. William Evens so easy and comfortable. Now my experience at Dr. William Evans clinic: when we arrived we filled the needed documents. Then I was asked to go for a 360 xR imaging. Here where I started to feel comfortable. The assistant, he was absolutely amazing, professional and very respectful. He talked to me, asked all proper questions and took notes of everything. Went over everything in simple detail to understand and introduce the procedure with so much less graphic detail and more comfortable information about what I might go through. Then he introduced Dr. Evans. Now, all surgeons has this intimidating look or presence to them, it's just who they are due to their line of work. When Dr. William Evans walked in I was about to book it out of the clinic, no joke. He greeted us and immediately started to speak to the assistant and he read my dentist office notes. Right in front of me. This was so relieving. Then he started to ask me questions to know more and that's when I started to feel less anxious and more comfortable. He literally explained what he would do in a simple, carful way, and he asked me multiple times if that's what I wanted to do and if I was comfortable with it. Finally, your experiences might be different from mine. But finding a good dentist office is not an easy process. When you do, or if you already have one be honest about your past dental experiences, follow instructions, and make sure you build a trust bond with your doctors. My husband saw Dr. Evans yesterday for an extraction. He was very anxious about the possible pain involved, but Dr. Evans was extremely good about numbing shots with only a tiny pinch. My husband didn't even realize the tooth had been pulled until Dr. Evans said, "OK, you're all done." He experienced only minimum discomfort last night and no pain this morning. We would recommend Dr. Evans to anyone requiring an oral surgeon. read more

Rude, with poor bedside manner. As a person who is supposed to care for his patients this guy needs some help. My Daughter was referred for a cracked tooth from a root canal (done by another Redding provider). After being in pain after a week and an ER trip this guy was rough and was poking my daughters gums on purpose after seeing she had extreme swelling of her face. He didn't offer any kind of numbing and was rude to her when her reflexes to protect her face from the pain kicked in. My daughter reached up to have him stop poking her gums and he ultimately bitched at her making her feel even worse. I'm not sure but he acted like he had racist tendencies towards people of color so beware and make sure you take a backup or make a back up plan of action for your pain. read more

I got two of my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Evan's, and from start to finish it was a great experience. There is an initial consult appointment where they go ever everything with you and make a game plan and you get to meet Dr. Evan's. The entire staff was pleasant and I felt very at ease. When I came in for the actual appointment again the staff were very nice. I was not nearly as nervous as I thought I would be. I was told everything that was going never felt like I didnt know what was happening. They ask several time when the last time you ate or drank, if your ride was here, ect. I was set up for success and when you leave they give you very clear and easy to understand instructions. If I ever need my other two wisdom teeth extracted I would definitely come back here. read more

Dr. Evans removed 2 of my wisdom teeth and did a great job. I was nervous about the IV and didn't feel a thing. The assistants were great as well, very knowledgeable. They gave both verbal and written post op instructions to avoid getting dry socket. I went to work the next day. I tell everyone to go to him. read more

Terrible! I was referred to Dr Evans from my personal dentist over a week ago for an emergent extraction. Regrettably, I developed dry socket to no fault of Dr Evans. I over cleaned the area after a meal, and woke up the next day in agony. I succumb to the pain after the dry socket and now having something sharp protruding from my gums. I called the office for a visit. Dr Evans didn't hide his disappointment in me for the dry socket, as I apologized again to him. I then proceed to ask him about the sharp thing coming out of my gums. Without a beat, he said "that's just a tooth fragment working it's way out".. he then proceeds to yank the fragment from my gums. I was stunned in pain only momentarily, but didn't react because I began feeling almost immediate relief. I then received a dry socket solution and was on my way. Until yesterday. I became even more swollen, my gums ached something fierce, I could feel yet another sharp protrusion. I tried to get through most of my work day without bothering his office once again. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the pain and so I picked up the phone and called to the receptionist. I explained to her that I was having more issues, was hoping I could be seen that same day/yesterday. She hesitated, I explained that perhaps it could be quick, that even my husband could probably pull it. Shockingly, she agreed that could actually be an option. I wasn't serious, but at this point in time, I thought, please just get me in. Upon arriving, I was called back. Dr Evans enters the room acting as if he was very annoyed with me. I was so embarrassed. I apologized again and explained that I had another sharp protrusion and that the pain was relentless. He said to me "Donna, you just need to give it time to heal. These fragments will work themselves out on their own. And besides, you created these tooth fragments by causing the dry socket!" As I sat there horrified, fighting back tears I asked him to please explain to me how the dry socket would cause him to leave tooth fragments in my gums. He said sternly "because you cut the blood supply off." I didn't know what that meant, but I was clearly over this mess at that moment. He proceeded to pull two more tooth fragments out of my gums from his (in my opinion, botched) tooth extraction. I left in tears, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I called my husband, as I was crying my eyes out. He instructed me to call my dentist who referred me to Dr. Evans. Despite having caused my own dry socket, I never in a million years thought I would be treated so horribly by a physician let alone his staff. I felt like the entire office (having seen 3 dental assistants, 1 upset receptionist and the Dr) was against me from the moment I stepped in their doors for the second visit. I've never been more humiliated and embarrassed. Please be advised when looking for an oral surgeon. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this man. read more

Just had a wisdom tooth pulled by dr. Evans. I am amazed at how fast and painless the whole experience was. I had the same tooth on the opposite side surgically removed by a different dentist (for the same cost) and the experience was excruciating. That's what I was expecting. Instead, I was only in the chair for about a minute, then he was done. Even the way he numbed my mouth seems better. It's only numb where the tooth was. I hate going to the dentist, but I wont hesitate to go back to dr. Evens! read more

This Dr. Evans and his staff personel, Feather Vcelik, are absolutely amazing. Feather actually, in an indirect way, saved my son's life when she told me I needed to take my son to ER right NOW, because no doctors were in the office at the time, he couldn't swallow well and his airway was partially obstructed - face was swollen like a balloon.
