I've had the same dentist for the past 20 years but recently retired. Our family went and saw Dr Zufall and the team. He did a full exam and provided a lot of great feedback and explained things so well. Probably one of the best dental visits I've ever had. I then had the hygienist do the teeth cleaning and was pretty nervous having a few sensitive areas. The thought of a new hygentist was scary. She was so easy, knew of the prior history and I thought this appointment was the least painful I've had. The staff were well aware of the charts and history before the appointment. After 45+ years my dentist finally retired. I went 5+ years without seeing a dentist until my tooth broke in half and then I had no choice but to find a dentist. I took a chance on Dr. Ron Zufall and I got reeeally lucky. After my first exam Dr. Ron took me in first the next morning. Dr, Ron has the latest cutting-edge dental equipment. He used a 360-degree, 3 axis, imaging machine to survey my teeth, sent the CNC machine instruction set to the machine and I got to see my crown being machined on the spot from a solid block... AMAZING! While my crown was being made, I had my teeth cleaned. That felt so relaxing it felt more like a spa or salon. After my teeth cleaning my crown was done. Dr. Ron had my teeth cleaned, filled a cavity and crowned my broken tooth in about two hours, all with no pain. Dr. Ron and his entire staff are all caring professionals. The best dental experience ever. All of the staff are super helpful and Dr. Zufall was very knowledgeable and that put me at ease.

Since the whole family will be two weeks post Covid vaccines, I am ready for Dr. Zufall to work on two crowns that needed attention, as well as a teeth cleaning. The reason I'm writing is to register my amazement at some of the negative posts I've seen on here. Not a single member of my family has ever had a negative experience at Zufall's office. And we're very picky who we let work on our teeth. Unless he's a regular Jekyll and Hyde, I find it extremely odd that anyone has had any bad experiences at his office. Anyway, that's my two cents. And that's coming from a guy that gives plenty of bad reviews when the service or individual deserves it. read more

I was recommended by 3 friends to go to Dr. Zufall. I had an urgent issue and called them immediately. For some reason, they were closed on Monday Feb. 3, 2020, although it was not any sort of holiday (as far as I know!) but because he came so highly recommended, I waited an additional day (despite my urgent situation) to try to get in to Zufall. Come to find out Tuesday morning, they are not accepting any Dental Dental patients. This is the insurance we have through the State of California (as an employee of the state). I asked if I could get on a waiting list if any of the current patients with this insurance left. She said "we are phasing it out and will no longer accept any in the future. REALLY disappointed that they cannot find a way to work with such a large component of the Redding-area population. He may be an excellent dentist, but be advised he doesn't accept the insurance of one of the area's main employers. read more

I love this Dentist! I am very particular with any doctor or dentist as I have had the best of the best from a previous dentist in the Bay Area and have been very spoiled with bedside manner. Doctor Zufall is professional and knowledgeable and has state of the art equipment. He had to replace a crown and it was all same day service. And I got to watch while it was made. He phoned later in the day to check on me and see how I was feeling. It was that personal touch and extra time he took which really sealed the deal. He always talks to me personally and in a way that I can understand. My only complaint would be the follow up with the staff, this has happened a couple of times where they have not followed up on a question and I had to call back for status. read more

The minute I woke up on the day I had an appointment I was so stressed.. not anymore. I can honestly say I don't even think about it! They are all so friendly. Also if you have an emergency , just call. A couple years back I was out of town and my son broke his front tooth in half. Him and his friends were skipping rocks in the pool. The rock (instead of hitting and breaking the tile) hit my son in the mouth on a Sunday afternoon. My older daughter called Dr. Zufall and he meet them at his office immediately to check my son. Sorry, but this is absolutely the worst dental experience I've ever had. I've happily gone to dentists my whole life, until going to Dr. Zufall. He caused serious pain and discomfort. When I complained during the procedure, he kept saying that this shouldn't really hurt and he would be done in a minute. 45 mins later of pure agony, I had sweated through my shirt and was hyperventilating from the pain. He finally agreed to numb me up. My husband also saw this dentist and had a similar painful experience. So much so, that we both were traumatized about going to another dentist for several years. Dr. Zufall has an expensive practice and he turns over too much of his work to his assistants. He is juggling too many patients at once and in too much of a hurry. He's more concerned about herding his patients through like cattle, and doesn't care for their comfort and well-being. I would highly NOT recommend this dentist. Seriously. read more

Very highly recommended. I have been a patient of Dr. Zufall for 15 years and have received excellent care from him and his staff. (My daughter, husband and mother-in-law are also patients.) I have always had an aversion to going to the dentist, made worse after suffering a traumatic mouth injury 10 years ago. It was all I could do to walk into the office when this happened, but Dr. Z and his staff were were so kind, patient and caring. It took months to recover and I never could have come through it the way I did without Dr. Zufall. Aside from that fun experience, my general patient care is always top notch. Routine cleanings are performed by great hygienists who are considerate and careful. I have received personal phone calls from Dr. Zufall to check up on my condition when procedures have been performed, as well as from his staff. Office manager Shelly has been there forever and is friendly, courteous and easy to work with when scheduling appointments. Reminders are sent in the mail and phone calls made the day prior, as well. The front office is always willing to work with you regarding insurance and billing/payment issues. The office is beautifully appointed, clean, sterile with lots of sample products for patients to try depending on your specific needs. While Dr. Zufall is an excellent dentist, he is also an active and big supporter of our community, particularly in scouts and schools. I was referred to Dr Zufall over 20 years ago and have never had anything but a great experience. Dr Zufall and all his staff are very professional and friendly. He makes himself available anytime for any problems, very rare for any medical field. My wife and I have a few times contacted Dr. Zufall on the weekend due to dental problems and he had us meet us at the office so we did not have to be uncomfortable for the weekend. We have referred numerous friends and family to Dr Zufall, who also having nothing but praise for Dr Zufall and his staff. In reading a previous post, I was shocked someone would say Dr. Zufall moves people through his office like cattle. I have very rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen and am usually in and out within 45 minutes. Even when I come for a teeth cleaning, Dr Zufall stops in every time and checks in with me and does a complete examination. One thing I really appreciate with Dr Zufall is he is never in a hurry to do work on your teeth like other dentist have done to me before. He does make sure you are not in any discomfort but likes to make sure you really need the work done. I have been to dentists before where they are always trying to work on your teeth and getting things done you may not really need right away. I highly recommend this dentist. I have to say that I was very nervous being new to Redding to find a dentist. I asked a co-worker who they used and they referred me to Dr. Zufall. I have to say the front office staff was very friendly and helpful with me filling out all of the paperwork I needed to. I then had a full exam and cleaning. Dr. Zufall was very thorough and answered all of my questions. He took his time with me and made sure I was comfortable with the whole process. His hygenist that I had that day was wonderful. No pain what so ever. I couldnt believe it. It was my first time with no pain. I have since been back for my next preventative cleaning and I had another hygienist and she was equally as good. She was very thorough and took time to explain things to me that were very helpful. This is by far the best dentist I have ever been to in my whole life.
