I called to schedule an appointment for a family member, explained to them that I would be translating for the appointment. They said it was okay and did not even ask what language. They called about a week before to confirm the appointment and when the topic of having me interpret for the appointment came up they told me I couldn't. When I asked if they could instead offer an interpreter service they said no and that they don't have those services. They automatically assumed that we needed Spanish and said someone in their office speaks Spanish but only on Thursdays. I explained that Spanish is not our language, and asked once again since they are refusing to let me translate, if they could provide someone to translate. They said no, and that they wouldn't be able to proceed. I tried to explain that healthcare providers are required to provide interpreters under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and ADA. They claimed they weren't aware of such laws. The office manager name is Kasey and she was so un empathetic of the situation. As a healthcare professional myself, I always provide services to any and all patients regardless of their language and gladly offer language services. It's a basic right, which clearly this practice does not understand. Will be reporting to the Dental Board.

The hygienists are amazing; anything more complex things really fell apart for us. And if we're paying premium out of pocket, we felt it made no sense. Ask a question on the phone? "I'll ask doctor." Then one second later: "Doctor says ..." I'm not even sure how that's possible, logistically. It felt odd. During exams, x-rays and any questions were run over to wherever doctor Stewart was somewhere in the building, and the dental assistant runs back to say and do what doctor Stewart said. It was like the Wizard of Oz. And this was the first thing we had that was pretty complicated (for us)/not a simple cavity. I feel that's not okay. It was all kind of "we'll deal with it" but we ran into a new (I assume) admin or office manager--not sure who she was, but "back office". We experienced a conversation I felt was demeaning and accusatory. Way out of character for what things had been. We switched; sad because we all loved Dr. Stewart.

Dr Lee is the ultimate professional. I had a cavity on my last visit so he had to numb me using the needle which I always dread. Yet I hardly feel it then he comes back in and finishes the procedure. From the time I arrived at the office to when I left was maybe 20-25 minutes. It's so important to me not to be left waiting in the lobby and then left in a room unattended for another 20-30 minutes as this has often happened to me and other dentistry. Never has it happened with Dr Lee's office. If I have to come back they'll let me know and schedule an appointment in the very near future. And the results are always outstanding. I have a 30 year old crown that has never done this so I feel they are not performing quality work. I was stood up and the entire staff was standing around talking because they had canceled all of their appointments as the "stand in" dentist didn't come in that day. I rescheduled and went back and was told that the premium insurance I have always used there was no longer accepted in fact they stated they were "out of network on all insurance" and that I had to pay cash up front before being seen. This is an indication of something has gone wrong with this office, so I canceled and am billed $100. Glad to pay and will never go back. I do not recommend this business.
