LOOKING FOR A NEW DENTIST? LOOK NO FARTHER! CALL THIS OFFICE TODAY IF YOU WANT THE BEST! I actually see Dr. Lewis in this office but have seen Dr. Sutherland in the past. It had been years in between visits and I envisioned at least two crowns, fillings and I had some major chips in my front teeth. I also had exposed roots from receding gums so I expected a referral for oral surgery. NOPE! Dr. Lewis was able to save and fill all my teeth INCLUDING the exposed roots. Saved me THOUSANDS $$$. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE DENTISTS.!!! The work is amazing! No one would ever know that I had fillings in my front teeth! Beyond that.... (phew I could go on!) This is easily the kindest group of dental professionals and front office staff I've EVER seen. The office is calming, spotlessly clean and they are fast getting you in. Payments are thoroughly explained and as a courtesy they sent a superbill to my insurance even though they aren't in network. Lastly, I have (had) EXTREMELY sensitive teeth, especially the ones with the roots exposed that were worked on. Dr. Lewis was really gentle, making sure I wasn't in any discomfort. Warning - If you are someone without dental insurance be sure and get an itemized statement showing all charges. I only had a credit card receipt which showed a total of $343 in July 2019. In October 2019 I received a bill for an additional amount of $55. The new bill also showed that there was a $1367 "medical claim pending credit". Being a patient without insurance that made no sense to me. I was later told that the amount "pending" was written off as a courtesy to those of us without insurance. I called to tell them that I had paid in full when I had my cleaning, X-rays and exam in July and that I didn't have insurance so there couldn't have been a pending credit. I was told that they had new software and they were checking records because they had been finding a lot of mistakes. I told her that because I was a cash patient without insurance I had asked and been told at three different times what my cost would be. The girl told me that I still owed the balance. I waited a few days and went in to talk to her in person, I told her I didn't believe I owed anything extra and wanted it written off. She said that she would talk to the doctor and see if he would do that. I was called later and told that they didn't know who had given me the wrong amount but they had found one mistake, in my favor, on the "new" bill but I still owed $19 and the doctor wanted that amount. My husband and I had been with another dentist since 1991 and he joined Dr Sutherland's practice a few years before retirement. We became Dr Sutherland's patients in that manner. We had always been very happy with Dr Sutherlands office until this situation. So I repeat, always get an itemized statement, especially if you do not have insurance. I have paid the $19 and we have now found a new dentist. read more

Dr. Sutherland is an awesome guy, I am extremely happy to have him as my dentist. My typical problem with doctors offices is that it takes 30 min after I arrive on time to get started with a checkup. This is not the case with Dr. Sutherland's office, I am typically being greeted by my dental hygienist, Sarra, a few minutes after I arrive. I will miss Dr. Mino, the former dentist at this practice, but am happy to say that the transition has been flawless and I am excited to see them every 6 months.... Dr. Sutherland is not an ethical practicing dentist. The practice of requiring a patient to repeat an entire new patient exam when one has been done, currently, by a dental peer with at minimum equal education and experience is completely unnecessary; granted there is more money to be made, but it does not serve a patient in an instance where there is the need for specific dental care. I have not found this to be the case in the past, with the exception of some dentists in this area. If I go to the doctor with a problem, the doctor does not insist on a physical exam before addressing and treating the reason for a visit. Furthermore, exposing a patient to repeated x-ray exams is never advised. Obtaining the record of a previous exam and full x-rays would be the obvious way to proceed, it would eliminate there being evident major problems that would in any way preclude Dr. Sutherland from making a minor repair. The repeated response from Dr. Sutherland's receptionist was, yes you had an exam and x-rays, "but Dr. Sutherland hasn't done an exam, therefore you must repeat the process." This statement, without any description of what such an exam would entail, is also unacceptable and clearly not necessary other than for Dr. Sutherland to take it to the bank. For a patient to have had a lifetime of dental care, to be rebuked by a dentist because that dentist, Dr. Sutherland, rejects all other dentists and the care they have provided being secondary to his judgement, is nothing less that a manifestation of his unethical priorities. Essentially you treat or fix the problem at hand and then you proceed with what would be an appropriate time for the next exam. Dr. Sutherland is like so many dentists, who face considerable competition as he is vying for his place in the community, obviously I don't think this is helpful. Having had a close friend who was a practicing dentist, and having been his patient as well, I know from experience that he would never have proceeded in the manner in which Dr. Sutherland conducts himself. Nor have other dentists I have seen in the past. Maybe he thinks he has enough of a corner on the market that he does not have to be responsive to the needs of a prospective patient. read more

Dr. Sutherland is just the nicest guy and gives great service. I have been a client of his for years. The lady that used to work the front desk recently retired and his daughter took her place. She is so nice and won't make you feel bad, even if you have lots of work to be done. He can usually get you in very quickly for emergencies. He's saved my hide more than once. His prices are fair and things are done in a timely fashion. Most of the ladies who work here are very nice and they are all professional. There is one lady who gets a little passionately opinionated. When I need work and wait a while to get it done. Hey lady I pay cash for my dental work. What can I say sometimes it takes a minute to come up with$1200 for a crown. So then I have to postpone the work till I save up the money. I'm relatively new patient to this practice. Dr. Sutherland is very congenial, states the facts as they are, offers sound advice. His front office staff are very friendly and look after the book keeping well. I met Sarra today, she performed a root planning for me. Very thorough, explained all the procedure and follow up in detail. I was very impressed she knew what a Pseudocholinesterase deficiency is. Most doctors I have mentioned this to have asked me what it was. Very intelligent young woman. read more
