She raved about her experience she had with all the staff members. She even had to make a difficult decision on her own about whether to proceed or not due to a root being close to the tooth. Not to worry though, they were able to get me scheduled to be seen in less than a week. As luck would have it, they had a cancellation and called and got me in the next day. The office is clean and has a great view of the river, and they offer cold beverages while you wait. In addition, they use nitrous on request, which I have been given since childhood. Dr. Suarez was very kind and took time to make sure I was adequately numbed before he removed my molar. I was given verbal and printed after care. They exceeded my expectations in every way.

Also, I talk about my dentist office that referred me here. 1) Visits to a dentist office is not the most fun thing to do, let alone going to an oral surgeon clinic. 2) I had trauma physically, emotionally and psychologically from previous experiences from dental visits. 3) I stoped going to the dentist office 10 years or more ago. I tried once or twice and I ran out of the clinics door I visited because they would not listen nor honor what I shared with me. Unfortunately, at the beginning of this year one of my molars broke. I did not say anything. Next thing I know, my wisdom teeth are coming out and I am in excruciating pain. They are impacting the rest of my teeth alignment. We live in Humboldt County, and there is 0 clinics and 0 oral surgeons that are accepting applications for new patients. My husband started to look in Redding and found dentists that are within our insurance network taking new patients so he was super happy to get us in. I did not say a word to him about my feelings or fears. We arrived to our dentist office and things started to come back to me. I was in a very bad shape. My dentist office team were trained for situations like that, they comforted me and handle the situation in such a professional and caring way. They listen to my issues and took all notes they needed to share with the entire office. Everyone was aware of what's going on. My hygienist appointments were so peaceful, my fillings were stressful a bit but I was not vaulted by the doctor at any point. Dr. Holmes would stop and make sure I was ready for next steps, and constantly asked if I was ready. Riverbend clinic made my transition to Dr. William Evens so easy and comfortable. Now my experience at Dr. William Evans clinic: when we arrived we filled the needed documents. Then I was asked to go for a 360 xR imaging. Here where I started to feel comfortable. The assistant, he was absolutely amazing, professional and very respectful. He talked to me, asked all proper questions and took notes of everything. Went over everything in simple detail to understand and introduce the procedure with so much less graphic detail and more comfortable information about what I might go through. Then he introduced Dr. Evans. Now, all surgeons has this intimidating look or presence to them, it's just who they are due to their line of work. When Dr. William Evans walked in I was about to book it out of the clinic, no joke. He greeted us and immediately started to speak to the assistant and he read my dentist office notes. Right in front of me. This was so relieving. Then he started to ask me questions to know more and that's when I started to feel less anxious and more comfortable. He literally explained what he would do in a simple, carful way, and he asked me multiple times if that's what I wanted to do and if I was comfortable with it. Finally, your experiences might be different from mine. But finding a good dentist office is not an easy process. When you do, or if you already have one be honest about your past dental experiences, follow instructions, and make sure you build a trust bond with your doctors. Make sure you let them know what you want. I wish all patients a good luck and good experience. Dealing with trauma is not easy but with good people and good care is possible.

I ended up with 4 dry sockets before I even left. I woke up in hysterics. Im guessing from the trauma of what I had gone through. I had to come back daily for painful packing procedures. And was down for at least a month if not longer from the repercussions of all that. I have had tmj and headaches since. we actually have quite a few older very mean Drs. in town and it surprises me how they can continue to keep working. More options here would be nice. I will drive to another town before I would go here.

I have had several of my family and friends switch from their long time family dentists because they too have seen what a great team they have at Nelson Family Dental Group.
