This store is truly an experience. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by cheerful, knowledgable staff who are eager to answer any questions you may have or offer suggestions. The store has every kind of Eco-conscious product you could want from beauty products (they have so many shampoos I couldn't even wrap my head around it) to household utensils and decor, to clothing, electronics and food. The store is beautiful and huge and I could literally spend hours in it.

I was so very impressed with the selection of products in the store, they have everything! From food to clothing, cleaning products to personal care and everyday use gadgets. The store itself is very clean, it looks modern with a home feel to it plus the water fall in the front is a nice nature outdoor feel. There is a lot of natural light coming in which is nice The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, I enjoyed my time in the store. I hope they open once in the GTA. #30daysofYelp

I rarely ever go out there unless it's to go to Ikea. Food options in this plaza are the Ikea cafeteria, the Starbucks inside of Chapters, Subway Sandwiches, and Bridgehead Coffee. If you're looking for something a bit more, across the street there is another small strip mall with Big Rig Kitchen and Brewery, and Supreme Kabob House. The plaza is good if you're looking for appliances or house furnishings.

I dislike this mall, mostly for accessing it, and parking. Oh, and the size of the Ikea there…read more.. Biggest in Canada? Why would that be impressive? It is huge, and I feel like I'm being herded like cattle, just to get through the store. My biggest beef about that is I'd rather go to the section I'm looking for, rather than have to schlep through every single other department just to get there! By then I'm exhausted! Mind you, I thought it was big enough before they expanded! On the other hand, the times I have shopped at Ikea and actually bought something, I have to admit that their prices are great. Having said that I really don't like going to this mall, we have been going here occasionally, and more frequently than before (yes, for Ikea!). Aside from Ikea, we've gone to the Starbucks with some regularity. That's a calming force after a trek through Ikea! And when we go to Ikea, we always take a gander in the bookstore next door. I like that Chapters / Indigo a lot, although it's not my favourite one to get to. Sears used to have an appliance store there, when they were still in business. Didn't go there often. I don't like Corbeil (overpriced IMHO) as we've had bad luck shopping for appliances there. I used to go to the Michael's in this mall, before they opened up in Kanata; so now I never go to this Michael's store anymore. In general, I go to this mall only when I have to, and only to get done what I absolutely have to, and usually can't wait to get out. Two stars because I do actually occasionally shop there. Based on parking and access alone, I would give this mall a 1-star. By access, I'm including taking the bus there: they let you off at the intersection of the highway and Pinecrest, and you have to walk too far to get to the mall, crossing the highway entrance. I feel like it's taking your life in your hands! And it's too long a trek to get into the mall by foot, taking the same route you would take if you were driving. I'm not sure how you would make it better; maybe a footbridge?

St. Laurent and Place d'Orleans are interchangeable for #3 and #4). The Bay (as most Canadians call it) at Bayshore and Rideau both have Opticals - the other Ottawa locations do not. If you wear glasses, don't overlook the Optical at The Bay, they have a good selection of frames. The one at Bayshore carries Milano 6769 Eyewear. Made in Italy (as the name suggests) and really funky styles. Their prices are really reasonable as well. The staff are friendly too. For fashions, The Bay at Bayshore is good. It's a smaller location than Rideau, but larger than St. Laurent or Place d'Orleans. The selection of formal and party dresses is much less than at Rideau. For purses they do carry a small selection of "Contemporary Brands" like Coach, but I haven't seen Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs, like at Rideau (St. Laurent and Place d'Orleans carry none of these brands). They have a very limited toy section, but their shoe department is a good size. The one thing that The Bay Bayshore has over The Bay Rideau is free parking, although the parking lot is a nightmare (which is the fault of Bayshore Mall management/owners for hiring the person/people who designed the parking lot and not the fault of The Bay - see my review of the Bayshore Shopping Centre for more details on my disdain for the parking lot, lol). The Bay is one of the few department stores that are still leftover from my youth (RIP Eatons, Simpsons, and Sears), so I'll always have a soft spot for it.

It is hard not to find anything at HomeSense that is not priced reasonably. Like other reviewers have mentioned, since it is located on Merivale Road, it should be avoided on the weekends. Not only that but avoid this location on Monday's as well, the stock is usually low, and the store is left with all the "left overs" from the weekend, that did not sale. Usually give it a day or two for the staff to load up the shelves with new goodies after their weekend rush. Best time to shop is Tuesday-Friday in the evening or morning. Minus the drive on Merivale the trip to Homesense was pretty good. This Homesense is massive! There are a lot of items at this store and like most Homesense's the stock changes weekly. There were a lot of items for the house, some nice, some awfully hard to look at! The good thing about this Homesense is that there are a lot of items for pretty reasonable prices. I'd recommend going on a weekday as Merivale seemed like a zoo today and I hear it's like that on weekends.

Prices are cheaper than places like Value Village. They had some new items like Funko Pops and Squishmallows, while I was there, but I guess these depend on donations, perhaps these were from a business (?) They also had some used video games and controllers. They also have (new) Big Brothers and Big Sisters merchandise. Staff are friendly. I believe that many of them are volunteers.
