We were…read moretold the recliner would arrive within 4-6 weeks from order and sectional 8-10 weeks from order (you must put a deposit for the order to be processed). Recliner arrived on time but with a defect. The leather did not line up properly with the back frame of the chair. We called for service. Service was prompt. He showed up and simply shifted the leather, by hand, to try and line it up with the frame better. We mentioned to the service person we were not satisfied with the repair. The leather was still off and has a wrinkle when you try to line it up properly. Upper Room never called us back, I called & emailed on several occasion and yet no response. A month & 1/2 later the Service Manager finally responds by email and indicates as per manufacture specs, the repairs are complete. I don't think so..... Now for the sectional. We were told someone would call to schedule delivery once it's arrived at there warehouse. 10 weeks passed, no calls. We called our sales rep at the Youville location, she couldn't tell us where are sectional was or when it would arrive. A few days later she called back to tell us it should be in within the next 2 weeks. When it finally arrived, they called to schedule delivery. (Pet peeve, they immediately ask for payment before scheduling. Hmm my order is late and all you are worried about is payment). It gets delivered 2 weeks late. We called sales rep asking what are you going to do for us since the order is 2 weeks late & nobody had called to inform us of this delay. Needless to say several calls and emails later no response. I called the Youville location yesterday requesting to speak to Manager. Left a message to have him call me. 24 hrs later still no call. Customer service is not there forte. We like the products expect for the recliner defect. Sales person was really nice, knowledgeable, & pleasant to deal with. 01-27: now they tell me they are ordering a replacement back for my recliner. Now that's better. Doesn't look like they will offer any compensation for sectional being 2 week late with no notification. 05-24-2017: Finally got the back of the recliner replaced by Upper Room. It now looks good. Advice to anybody is if you have an issue with them, be persistent, keep following up, don't give up and they will eventually get your issue fixed. This is my experience.

So the set arrived upon delivery and I inspected everything, i was looking more for cracks, chips, flaws, the guys left and said if anything is wrong to call the store. I noticed the bench was wobbly. I called the store and asked to exchange it, they said someone would come to look at it (because I bought the extended Warranty) A month later they showed up, said the entire frame looks bad, said he would tell them it looks like a cracked frame and they should replace it and that the store would be in touch, another month goes by and I hear nothing, go into the store and talk to them, ask to switch out the bench for another one, they said they don't do that, and see a "PART" was on order?! I said there has been no communication, and asked what part? The entire frame is cracked or flawed since delivery. She said someone would be in touch with me. Another month later still no phone call, nothing....for a smaller company you'd expect them to care more about customer service, i spend $400.00 for an extended warranty, 3 months later have gotten nothing out of. I spent about $3100.00 in the store, I returned a lamp a week later and they wouldn't accept returns for anything, said I could only get an in store credit. The entire experience buying at this store was not really good. They are not going to be around very long if this is their approach. Too much competition and word travels fast. Unfortunately I have $310.00 i have to spend (in store credit) I wont buy buy anything here again or recommend them. 3 MONTHS of silence, nonsense and a runaround and still nothing, i am to go back into the store in November and demand to speak with the owner/Manager of the store about this nonsense. STAY AWAY !

This little thrift store is hidden behind Nate's Deli, in that old run down bingo hall sitting on…read moreMerivale Road. I pass it quiet frequently and always wanted to stop in, but it was never on the top of my priority list, especially with so many other thrift stores on that street. I had some Christmas items that I wanted to donate, and thought, this is my chance to check out Bibles for Missions. I could tell just from stepping up to the donation door that they bombarded with donations. The donation door was wide open and there were a couple of workers in the back, no greeting, acknowledgment, or thank you, so I plopped my donation down and decided to check out the store. The first thing that I noticed were the signs placed in the entrance "please leave big purses and bags at cash, we reserve the right to search your bag," and so on. Maybe there has been a lot of theft? Not sure, but it did not give me a friendly first impression. No greeting, or acknowledgment throughout the 15 minutes browsing the store, but there were plenty of staff on the sales floor for customer assistance/questions. I did not find that there was a great selection, it was like walking through grandmas basement. Nothing caught my eye here, and I was not "wowed" by anything in particular. What stands out about this thrift store than others, is that it is mostly volunteers, and the majority of the profit goes towards their partnership with the bible league of Canada.
